Child Protective Services laws and agencies are abusive to families and children. This site provides support and information to parents falsely accused of child abuse by Child Protective Services.

FightCPS does not advocate or condone violence or illiegal activities of any kind.

FightCPS is intended to help people learn enough about the law to be able to successfully defend themselves and their families against false accusations using legal documents and strategies that put parents in a stronger position when they go back to court.

For more information, see the FAQ.

Child Protective Services, CPS, has devastated and destroyed hundreds of thousands of families in America during the last thirty years leaving a trail of broken hearts, broken dreams, and shattered childhoods.

Rather than helping families, government agents have used unconstitutional laws in Juvenile Court to rip children away from their loving parents, break asunder God-given, natural, parent-child bonds, and adopt the children of the grieving out to others who profit financially with large monthly adoption subsidy payments.

Child Protective Services must be stopped! The law that started this, CAPTA, must be repealed. We must work tirelessly to inform the public of this very dangerous travesty of justice. We must keep faith knowing that if there is a God, there is an answer and a way to end this heartache.

Child Protective Services Agents - please come to your senses! Family destruction on false or trivial grounds is wrong, reprehensible, and inhumane.

Fosterers - be aware that for the money you get you are holding much-loved children away from their grieving families while the parents are forced to perform a service plan that is anything but a service to them. I call this hostage holding for the government. This is not kindness - to help misguided government agents destroy family relationships and break loving bonds.

CPS workers and fosterers - I ask that you now let the children of the innocent return to their homes where they are truly valued, adored, and loved by the parents God gave them.

Family rights are God-given rights. And they should not be ignored or postponed. Every moment these loving parents and children spend separated from one another is a torment beyond what anyone should ever have to bear.

It is unworthy of human dignity to allow this terrorism and torture of families to go on without saying something, speaking out, and trying to make a change.

Site mission: To provide information and support for families attacked by Child Protective Services and child welfare agents, especially those families facing false or trivial accusations of child abuse or neglect; and for researchers working to protect natural family rights.

The Senator Nancy Schaefer Memorial Information Project

Words cannot express how distressed I am to hear that our dear Senator Nancy Schaefer has died in what is being called a murder-suicide, along with her husband.

Nancy was the first state senator to speak out forcefully, truthfully about the corruption of Child Protective Services. For this reason some have surmised that this murder-suicide could actually be a cover-up for something more sinister… a silencing!

Regardless of how she died, she will be remembered for many years to come as a brave, honest, ethical and truth-telling woman who stood up to the child welfare industry and voiced the pain and trauma of those who had approached her for help with their Georgia CPS cases.

Let’s not let this be the end!

Please join me in taking a stand to make her life even more meaningful.

Here’s the plan.

1. Download a copy of Senator Schaefer’s report on CPS corruption.

2. Print out copies of pages one through seven.

3. Write heartfelt letters to every county supervisor in your county. Shorter letters are better, as they’re more likely to be read. Ask them to investigate and cut funding for CPS in your county. Send your letters to every supervisor along with a copy of Senator Schaefer’s report, pages one through seven.

4. Now send letters to every state senator, congressman, and legislator in your state! Remind them that federal child welfare laws are a violation of the Tenth Amendment of the US Constitution and request State Sovereignty. Send them the first seven pages of Senator Schaefer’s report!

Please, please, please do this!

Tell everyone you know on CPS mailing lists or on other sites about this plan.

Let’s let Nancy continue to change the world!

And if you take up the banner and run with it, please leave a comment on this thread to encourage others to participate.

Senator Nancy Schaefer

We love you, Nancy!
So long as I’m alive you will NEVER be forgotten!
Thanks so much for all you did for CPS victims everywhere!

  1. I am doing this right now. This is so important to all of us who have ever had a problem with CPS. I am personally very close to having my children returned to my custody, but I plan to fight against CPS for the rest of my natural life.

  4. I am terribly sorry that we have lost this wonderful woman who was not afraid to expose the corruption and true nature of this horrendous agency!! I don’t know if she and her husband committed suicide or not, but it would not surprise me if it were discovered that foul play was involved. I will continue to fight for the rightful return of my son who should never have been taken from his LOVING mother in the first place. He has been subjected to brainwashing to believe his mother is dangerous to him; THIS IS OUT AND OUT INSANITY and it must be stopped!!
I hope more people follow in Senator Nancy’s foot steps to continue to expose this agency for the abuse it inflicts on innocent families for the sake of financial gain, and NO OTHER VALID OR LEGITIMATE REASON!!

  5. It’s a terrible thing, to loose such great people. This lady worked so hard to help others. My grandchildren are in Foster Care, our daughter pays child support and isn’t allowed visitation with her children, we haven’t seen them in three months, it’s horrible, we feel like they’ve buried our three grandkids alive somewhere and won’t tell us where. Collin County Texas is corrupt. We feel like nobody listens. Is there any justice in this world?

    Comment by Rita Hunt — March 28, 2010 @ 6:52 pm

  6. I need a pro-bono attorney, are there any out there? We need help getting our grandkids out of foster care. We can’t get visitation, or our daughter, and she’s being charged child support, It’s going to be three months since we’ve seen them on the 7th of April. We need help.

    Comment by Rita Hunt — March 28, 2010 @ 7:46 pm

  7. I am a parent of two children taken by CPS and I fought long and hard to get them returned. I know first hand the heartache that this kind of legal action produces. Lets all stand together and continue the fight that Senator Schaefer among others started against this system. My condolences go out for her family and friends. This brave woman did not die in vain! God values the children and I believe each of them will have to answer to God on judgment day. God Bless

  13. Nancy Schaffer was a great lady and a great help in getting our granddaughter home from foster care. Nancy will be rewarded in Heaven for her good works and I hope others will continue her work against CPS. Foster care is a joke and Nancy’s concern are very, very real. Her family is in our thoughts and prayers. Thank God for people like Nancy Schaffer.

  15. We are meeting with CPS today to make another plea to get my 3 granddaughters back after two years of being in their custody. How the law and courts agree to this is just still a mystery to me!! I had not heard of Senator Nancy Schaefer before this past weekend but I am saddened by what corruption will lead to and what the stand she took has cost her and her husband. I have saved her document and as soon as I can will print out the first 7 pages and send them to everyone I can think of. Thank you Nancy for your work. You indeed will never be forgotten and I have faith that someone else will find the courage and boldness to continue this fight. Our children and the future of this nation depends upon it.

  17. A monumental loss. Nancy Schaefer did what CPS fears most – she told the truth. Bravely, relentlessly, and powerfully. Her work will live on, as does her spirit.

  18. I suspect foul play too. GBI is closing out their investigation without talking to Nancy’s friends or reviewing all of the evidence? All the have is 7 suicide letters that Bruce could have written last year when he had his surgery. Nancy was getting ready to drop a ‘bombshell’. She had an interview scheduled with Alex Jones and William Wagener. Both talked to her right before her death. She had book she writing and a new documentary on the CPS corruption that is presently in post production. This film was supposed to come out this month and right before it’s release she winds up dead and the Film Producer is trying to sell it to the highest bidder while telling people they are ‘conspiracy theorists’ if they believe this was a “hit”. Then we got Senator Thomas and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle talking to the press, and Nancy didn’t like either one of them. Cagle forced her out of office. Oh yeah, this stinks to high heaven & no doubt this is foul play! Kathleen

  19. Nancy, always, returned my calls…She was very knowledgable of this evil organization and the maze it presents to try and circumvent efforts to retrieve your children and grandchildren from the evil state system…She, not other supposedly important law makers, had the strength and undaunting courage, to stand up and be a voice for the innocent children, We have veritable child trafficking ongoing in this nation, and our state and federal legislators don’t dare to touch this evil with a ten foot pole. It is as though other legislators are stating clearly, “don’t confuse me with the issues on C.P.S., I want to live!” Deborah Connor

  22. RCW 26.12.800
Family court pilot program — Legislative recognition.

The legislature recognizes the increasing incidence of concurrent involvement of family members in multiple areas of the justice system. Analysis shows significant case overlap in the case types of juvenile offender, juvenile dependency, at-risk youth, child in need of services, truancy, domestic violence, and domestic relations. Also recognized is the increased complexity of the problems facing family members and the increased complexity of the laws affecting families. It is believed that in such situations, an efficient and effective response is through the creation of a unified court system centered around the family that: Provides a dedicated, trained, and informed judiciary; incorporates case management practices based on a family’s judicial system needs; enables multiple case type resolution by one judicial officer or judicial team; provides coordinated legal and social services; and considers and evaluates the needs of the family as a whole.

  23. I sent this out today with her report attached.
Thank you for sharing this. : Re: Former Senator Nancy Schaeffer’s letter attached URGENT PLEASE READ AND COPY TO ALL
    Dear Senator Stine:
I met you several years ago at a DAR meeting. I had contacted you about my family problems with
the child protection services and the courts. You refererred me to Hank Blanford about the legislative issues.
I have attached Former Sneator Nancy Schaeffer’s findings after a complete investigation in Georgia .
She lost her senate seat for filing this document, as well as her life. She and her husband were murdered because she was going to film in a documentary on what this is doing to our families and children. Please help us here in KY. It’s been nine years since I have seen my daughter or grandson .
It destroyed my family of origin in the 1974-75 when CAPTA came in and put federal money on the heads of the mental retarded. my three retarded siblings were removed from our home and died in state instituions by apshixation and in foster care were sexually abused 2 boys and l girl.
This is systemicand long standing abuse. I have all the files on these cases that proves the fraud and corruption. No one would help. Nancy tried to help and was murdered. We are a group of people that have lost our familes our bloodlines, the very thing the DAR statnds for . I had to resign.
This has broken my heart. I too like Nancy can’t let it go. Ihave to help the children its still happening to. I know your a good woman and you have gone far in the Senate and I am really proud of you.
This is happening in every single state. Isn’t 40 years of CAPTA enough. If we stop the flow of federal money to them it will help stop this cycle fo destroying families and childrens.
God Bless You and Thank You!Robin Rider-Osborne
Thank you for sharing this. I have sent it on to all P&A staff and PAC members

  26. The fact that this murder occured comfirms the war being waged on american families by our own government. The thought that someone on a “whim” could just barge into my home and steal my children from me, and I have no recourse, no say , no thing I can even do to stop it IS enough to make any person homicidal, any mother crazy . May God Help Us.

  27. I wrote a lot ins the early stages of my investigation by CPS. After being falsely accused of horrendous and ridiculous crimes I barely escaped with my life. I now know that my story is one amongst many. This is systemic problem. It occurs around the country everyday. The lawyers, social workers, therapists, foster parents are all making money from this. It is very real. They are also monitoring these sites! I have proof. I am now fighting for my children as well. This is real!

  28. This is becoming a very frightening world, I never knew how scandalous the CPS system is, until now. I would love to find someone as concerned as this woman was, Bless her heart and soul for trying to protect our children. We need more people like her, we have got to stand together as a “village” and put a stop to this insane corruption that is happening right before our eyes! Jesus, please keep all our children safe!
