Child Protective Services laws and agencies are abusive to families and children. This site provides support and information to parents falsely accused of child abuse by Child Protective Services.

FightCPS does not advocate or condone violence or illiegal activities of any kind.

FightCPS is intended to help people learn enough about the law to be able to successfully defend themselves and their families against false accusations using legal documents and strategies that put parents in a stronger position when they go back to court.

For more information, see the FAQ.

Child Protective Services, CPS, has devastated and destroyed hundreds of thousands of families in America during the last thirty years leaving a trail of broken hearts, broken dreams, and shattered childhoods.

Rather than helping families, government agents have used unconstitutional laws in Juvenile Court to rip children away from their loving parents, break asunder God-given, natural, parent-child bonds, and adopt the children of the grieving out to others who profit financially with large monthly adoption subsidy payments.

Child Protective Services must be stopped! The law that started this, CAPTA, must be repealed. We must work tirelessly to inform the public of this very dangerous travesty of justice. We must keep faith knowing that if there is a God, there is an answer and a way to end this heartache.

Child Protective Services Agents - please come to your senses! Family destruction on false or trivial grounds is wrong, reprehensible, and inhumane.

Fosterers - be aware that for the money you get you are holding much-loved children away from their grieving families while the parents are forced to perform a service plan that is anything but a service to them. I call this hostage holding for the government. This is not kindness - to help misguided government agents destroy family relationships and break loving bonds.

CPS workers and fosterers - I ask that you now let the children of the innocent return to their homes where they are truly valued, adored, and loved by the parents God gave them.

Family rights are God-given rights. And they should not be ignored or postponed. Every moment these loving parents and children spend separated from one another is a torment beyond what anyone should ever have to bear.

It is unworthy of human dignity to allow this terrorism and torture of families to go on without saying something, speaking out, and trying to make a change.

Site mission: To provide information and support for families attacked by Child Protective Services and child welfare agents, especially those families facing false or trivial accusations of child abuse or neglect; and for researchers working to protect natural family rights.

  1. I wanted to let everyone know that my book “What Child Protective Services Doesn’t Want You To Know” is progressing forward.

Over the weekend, I took some notes from two former social workers here in NC who had their appointment to the Board of Directors invalidated because they started expressing their own concerns about what is going on within the system.

We need to bring national attention to the seriousness of CPS and what they’re doing to families, children, and with violating our constitutional rights. We need to unite together to take a stand against this injustice because a complaint here or there isn’t going to matter to them.

My book is going to feature real nightmare stories of what some of you have had to go through. The names of everyone in the book will be changed for their own protection as this is sure to create an uproar within their agency. If you would like to send me your story, please email me at texasroadrunner007[@]yahoo.com.

Once the book is finished, I plan on sending copies of it to every national media outlet I can think of to get this problem made public on a national scale. It’s possible that with some planning, we can organize a massive march on Washington because that always seems to draw the media as they want to know what’s going on.

Don’t give up, and don’t adopt an attitude that nothing can be done. When people come together, we can accomplish a lot and don’t think for one minute that God isn’t aware of what’s going on in this country with regards to his children. I appreciate reading your comments as they have some really good helpful information.

I don’t know if it’s a possibility, but I still think if a massive national class action lawsuit could be filed where everyone who’s had to deal with CPS signed onto it, that there’s bound to be a huge law firm in this country that would take this on.

Legislation needs to be changed, and we need to remind our legislatures that they can be replaced come election time if they’re not going to represent the best interest of “We The People of The United States of America.”

  2. Yes, I am a grandmother trying to get my three grandsons, Maine is trying to discredit me, because their agenda is that the foster home my grandson is in, they want to adopt him. And Florida has the other two grandsons, that I am trying to get as well. Yes, it is a pretty sad story when three of my grandsons lives are at stake. All three of them belong with their own blood.( The reason why I am saying blood only because Maine has made it clear that my grandson is with the only family he knows.) I am willing to take them in and raise them.

  3. The youngest which is two years old is in the foster home that wants to adopt him and the other two in Florida are three and five years old.

  4. Winnie,,,and others,

Lets not forget that one thing Pres. Bush did BEFORE he left office, was to get congress to make it a Federal Right that “kinship care must be sought immediately upon the removal of children”.

Even if your state does not address the issue, the federal law now does.

DHS/CPS is federally required to get a list, from the parents, of family willing and able to take the children. The and only then if nobody comes forward, can they use foster care.

  5. If you are a former social worker, or investigator with CPS and you are well aware of the corruption within the CPS system and you would like to share some of the things you witnessed or was told to do, then I’d like to hear from you.

I am getting some awesome information so far from people who aren’t afraid to speak out and this is going to expose the corruption that is going on in this country.

The people who have had their children kidnapped by CPS workers deserve to have justice in this country. Speak up and let me hear what you have to say.

  6. Thanks, everyone for the suggestions regarding my post that’s listed in the February 2010 guestbook. I have spent the entire weekend searching for attorneys, contacting the media, etc., etc., and am exhausted. The Satanic BEASTS from Los Angeles County CPS who LET MY CHILD TAKE DRUGS for the past several years while, they’ve continued their EVIL against me, need to be looked in jail FOREVER. Just this morning, as I was scanning in documents that PROVE that Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is working overtime to get more FALSE charges filed against me – and their own documents admit that they are FALSE, I discovered the name of one of the CPS beasts involved – his name is “Juan” (I don’t have a last name – at least not yet).

I still need help! I’m playing phone tag now with a few agencies and attorneys.

  7. Jaycee isn’t the only Victim of CPS negligence and abuse!

The state of Washington illegally took jurisdiction of my child under threat of false imprisonment if I did not release her into their custody. My daughter was on life-saving medication for epilepsy at the time so I immediately gave the social workers her medicine. Yet, in court the district attorney lied for social services and stated that I willingly gave my child to the social workers and that I did not give them her medicine.

A year and a half later when my attorney finally got them to release some records from CPS, I found out that my child was being withheld her epilepsy meds so was then 30-40% developmentally disabled from having seizures in foster care; that she was being given Benedryl above adult dosages; and that reports were being sent in from her school that she was being sexually abused in foster care. Although all the medical records and even my 2 year old daughter’s physical when first taken into foster care showed that she was a happy child and hymen intact; by then she had force blunt trauma to her vagina; night terrors, bed-wetting; lice…just a few of the permanent damage she received in foster care.

Although I filed a Federal Court Appeal, my attorney informed me that the judge did not even glance at my evidence and found out it was not submitted to begin with- although my Appeal included misrepresentation and tampering with evidence. Before my parenting rights were even terminated CPS was already providing the foster parent and my daughter’s Aunt first class airplane tickets and hotel as well as parenting services; but I was denied any reasonable accommodations or parenting services! They even would not allow my older daughter into court as a witness after I paid for her plane ticket to show up!

After fighting for my daughter’s life for 4 years, the state of WA finally adopted out my daughter and returned her to the very family that I tried to escape for our safety. They even failed to press charges against her father after I turned in a signed and notarized affidavit that he raped my older daughter?! This was kept out of court as well. The social workers notes even stated that the adoptive home was unsafe as her aunt had terminal rheumatoid arthritis and was in her 60s married to a younger man and that other relatives lived with her. Her father who was a criminal was offered visiting rights and told his sister would get our daughter if he terminated his parental rights; and he would be freed of any child support due?! So now my daughter may be getting raped by her own father or adoptive father as well as developmentally disabled and traumatized for the rest of her life!!

I have all the videos, medical records, CPS documents, Child Abused center records to prove what I say-Yet, all these were kept from the courts and media because WA law states that social workers are immune from prosecution!? If you search Feb 2004 you will discover that the Vancouver WA CPS director terminated her job at the same time I lost custody of my daughter and that in 2002 (my daughter taken Nov 1999) the “Candy Man” online child pornography site was busted; most victims were foster children in WA and OR!!

My child is 13 now and I still want her back and to know that her mommy did all she could to save her. I have been trying to get my college degree so I can afford a lawyer but it is curious that the universities kick me out with a 3.7 GPA. No doubt, CPS carried out their promise with the threat that if I did not drop my Appeal they would make my life difficult by making it hard for me to get work or graduate? How is it that my character was allowed to be crucified based solely on “hearsay” while all my documents from experts kept out of court as well as their own records?

How can a mother be called an incapable parent after I already raised 4 other children who were on the Deans list and graduated from college? How is it that this is all a USN Hospital Corpsman who was honorable discharged and did nursing for 10 years can have her child stolen because I can’t care for my baby but able to care for acute/chronic patients over the years?

Please, can someone help me get an attorney so I can make sure my daughter can know my location and choose to return to her family as she is now 13 and legally can be able to file rape charges on her own with the evidence I have. This is why her aunt was threatened to not allow me to see my daughter or they would take her away and put her where she would never be found!? Because CPS knows I have all the evidence for my daughter, but no money or support for legal representation. I could not afford the US Supreme Court as no court appointed attorneys given at that level and needed $100,000 to file the appeal. CPS knew this and I even have videos of them laughing in court because they knew I was getting “Kangaroo Court.” Jaycee Dugard isn’t the only victim of CPS!!

  10. Samantha, I have not given up, but I doubt even that a massive class action suit will make much of a difference. Because, by that, we are relying on our judicial and election process to work for the expressed will of the people. Well, it just doesn’t happen. It gives false hope to the people. And we believe it everytime. Many books have been written. Many class action suits have been filed and won. Nothing has changed. The false hope is that our elected representatives will take our side and stand for us. That is not how it works, no matter how hard we want to believe it. Every time a class-action lawsuit is won, we feel a victory. But, what have we won? Every newly elected politician has learned by the mistakes of their predecessors. So, the political process continues, just as it has since the “People” started giving up rights to trust the government to take care of us. Are we to believe that the Judicial system will see the outrage from parents and decide that they will “come to their senses?” False hope is relying on our judicial system to do that. I don’t have the answer, but I agree that the first step is to get the awareness of the corruption out to as many people as are willing to listen. That is your duty and obligation, as is everyone’s who want to live the “Dream”, that our country was founded on. To insure individual freedoms and prevent others from infringing on those rights. That is why the Constitution was implaced.

  11. Samantha, I haven’t succumbed to an attitude of giving up. I have realized that I have to fight harder. I’ve already gotten my children back, but the lifelong scars cannot be undone. Every day, I try to prevent other families from going through similar traumatizing ordeals, such as mine and many other less fortunate familes. Trusting in our governmental process is a sure way to lose your children and ensure repercussions when you speak up against the corruption. Some are lucky, as was I, but by staying silent about the abuse and corruption of why things are allowed to continue, I allow everyone else to be subjected to similar circumstances. I cannot do that. It’s gonna take people to stop abiding by the governments excuses and false hopes for positive change, before a real positive change will happen. We are too scared to act or speak in protection of our children and families for fear of the government law. Why is that? Instead, parents are 5-10 times more likey to commit suicide when faced with DHS. Why is that? People, families have faults, and we learn from them. But to trust or rely on the Legislature to say “We hear you and we will do as you elected us to do” is bogus. Legislature looks at statistics, which are easily manipulated and falsely reported by the news networks. Awareness is thekey. Not to the representatives, but to the people. Because WE, THE PEOPLE are the ones who allow this to happen, through our ignorance, and in a large part by expecting Legislature to stand up for us. But, that’s just my opinion.

  12. Hi, Im a mom of 4 wonderful babies. I received a letter via my 13 year old son from the substitute school nurse regarding his blood pressure last Monday. Evidently, in her opinion, his blood pressure was high. At the same time I received the letter from the school, the nurse also faxed a copy of the letter to my physicians office. I was, at that point, annoyed with the fact that it seemed like the school had taken liberties with my childs well being. However, I went ahead and took my son in to see our physician and she gave him a clean bill of health. She even did a full blood work up on him to make sure there were no underlying problems. (His appointment was last Wednesday, Feb 24th, 2010.) Yesterday, I received a phone call from said son, from a bathroom stall in his schools restroom, telling me that he had just been interrogated by a CPS worker regarding his blood pressure. According to the worker, I have been turned in for Medical Neglect. I, all 4 of my children, and my fiance’ are currently under investigation! I am absolutely OUTRAGED! Is there ANYTHING I can possibly do in retaliation?

    Comment by Tricia — March 2, 2010 @ 11:35 am

  13. Tricia, I believe that I will be backed by many when saying this. Do not talk to DHS, except to say that you understand that he/she is just doing her job, and that it’s a shame that both of our time is being wasted. Be pleasant and keep it short and sweet. Stay calm and try not to show any anger when he/she persists. Say goodbye, close the door/ hang up the phone. Do not engage in conversation. Do not believe that DHS is trying to help you. What the investigator is looking for is any reason to keep DHS involved. No matter how pleasant the investigator seems, do not believe him/her. The more you talk, the more that they can paraphrase for you, in their report. Don’t believe them if they tell you that you can get a copy of their report. If the conversation gets that far, you are already making mistakes. Absolutely, DO NOT let him or her into your home. Often, they have law enforcement with them. Try not to be intimidated. That is the sole purpose of having them there. Intimidation. If the DHS investigator gets beligerant or pushy. Stop talking to him/her and ask the officer to please, ask her to leave. Remember, it should never get this far if you protect yourself. Keep it short and close the door. If they persist, call your local police department and report them as trespassers who refuse to leave. Do the research and learn not to make the mistakes that many have. DHS will manipulate, coerce, and lie. It’s your family that you gamble with when trusting that DHS will see that this whole thing was just a misunderstanding. They don’t work that way. Please, protect yourself and your family. Do not sign anything that they ask you to sign. Do not agree to anything that they try to convince you will help your investigation. Please, make the time to do as much research as you can before you speak with DHS again. Your family is at stake. If it feels wrong, it probably is. DHS is a business. You are a family. Protect your family. I hope you learn enough before damage is done to your family. I’ve been there, but I didn’t believe that DHS was anything other than honorable. My children payed dearly for it. Because I trusted DHS. Protect your family.

  14. this question is to miss LindaJoMartin

I got a friend who got a call from a CSW she left him a message to call her in regards to an investigation they are doing for her children but in the caller ID it showed the number of the police not the CSW. So she belives the police did a 3 way called to her house and the CSW and a police agent or detective were trying to listen to the conversation. Would that be consider illegal wire tapping or what would that be consider ! the police error was they did not restrict their number but the CSW and who ever agency police was listening to the conversation because the call did not call from the CSW number but from a police agency! but she left a message saying it was her. Would that be a violation of the 4th amendment if the officer did not had a warrant or a court order to listen to the conversation and maliciously try to listen to the conversation to try to incriminate my friend. What can she do about that. The police contacted her in the past and she told them she did not wanted to give any statement with out her attorney present and they stop calling her.

  18. I am a grandmother who is struggling with much of what you are. My grandson was snatched last month by the Texas CPS. They accuse my son of abuse, but found that the babie’s injuries were all from the 3 months he spent in the hospital as a preemie. They can’t find anything my son did, and they haven’t filed any charges against him, but they took the baby and are giving him and his wife grief.

I am shocked at what is going on in this corrupt system. We are confident that my son will be vindicated, and we will get our baby back. God is moving in amazing ways that I will share later. I just can’t go back to sleep after this nightmare is over. Like Samantha, I am writing a book about CPS. We must wake America up to what is happening here. We have a group page on Facebook called, CPS Victims Unite. We also have a website with the same name, http://www.cps-victims-unite.com where we have videos and links to info, much like this wonderful site.

I have never written a book quite like this. I’ve only written one novel and 9 how-to’s. This one is going to be very different, but very necessary. They more of us that write and speak out against them the less any one of us will look like radical fringe.

Also, I’ve tried to contact Mr. McMillan but the e-mail I found for him was, apparently incorrect. I just called his office and obtained the correct one. I’m still on my search for an attorney.

Also, the Satanic Beast Child Abusers from Los Angeles County called the Sheriff’s Department on my yesterday (even though I don’t live in the Neo-Nazi State of Los Angeles County – I gave that bastard an earful and he suddenly couldn’t speak any longer (wonder why). Maybe it was after I demanded that he arrest the real child abusers – the beasts from LA County. I also told him about the ongoing violations of law that the State keeps finding against the county or the fact that the state opened ANOTHER investigation against the LA County Satanic Beasts yesterday (just before the sheriff called).

Anyway, I still need an attorney.

  22. Cindy – to let your daughter know where you are create a strong online presence on Facebook, MySpace, and any other site commonly used by teenagers. Create a website devoted to the relationship you had with her before she was taken, and tell her what really happened. Nobody can stop you from being on the web, and when she’s ready she will find you.

    Comment by LindaJoMartin — March 3, 2010 @ 10:38 pm

  23. Tricia, like I told you when I chatted with you earlier today, I would wait until the case is closed, then take my children out of the school that reported this to CPS. I would consider the reporter incompetent and abusive, and not want my children anywhere near that person.

Meanwhile, take heart… if the CPS worker thought your children were in any “immediate danger” they would be gone already. The CPS worker may need to touch bases with you before closing the case. Don’t panic! And don’t do anything to retaliate against the CPS worker… that would be held against you. And as for right now the worker is just doing his or her job.

It is up to you NOT to give the worker any more ‘leads’ to find information to twist and use against you. There’s nothing more valuable than silence, at times.

  25. Ed, the caseworker could have been calling from the police station. Your friend would have to ask a lawyer in your state about the legality of having a police officer eavesdropping on the conversation. The laws for this kind of thing are different in every state so you need local help.

    Comment by LindaJoMartin — March 3, 2010 @ 11:22 pm

  26. ticked off father, most attorneys won’t bother requesting a hearing sooner, but it can be done. You would have to convince your attorney to do it now. Are you ready? Have you completed all court ordered services?

  27. Currently there are 12 states that require all party consent to being recorded. 38 states are one party consent states. If you’re in a one party consent state, you can record your telephone conversations without having to inform the person on the other line that they are being recorded.

Here’s a site to visit. http://www.pimall.com/nais/n.recordlaw.html. If you’re in a one party consent state, learn the specific statue so that way if anyone tells you that you’re not allowed to record them, you can inform them that you are in a one party consent state and quote your state statue. Remember CPS tries to intimidate people, scare them, harass them. There are many mobile phones with record features on them.

You can record conversations in the other 12 states so long as you let everyone know that you will be recording all conversations.

  28. Daaronad,

I appreciate your feedback and awareness is the key. Most people are naive in believing that CPS is a worthwhile organization until they find themselves in the system where they’re abused.

Legislation can be changed when enough people stand up and fight back. I have a friend of mine who’s nephew in Virginia is a private detective who’s been dealing with CPS for over 12 years with regards to 2 children he adopted.

He has been able to get 4 US Senators who are willing to listen but what they are advising is everyone get their stories printed, documented as best as they can and notarized. This may not sound like a lot but we have to start somewhere and we have to come together.

I like the idea of a national march on Washington myself because a well organized march will garner the attention of every media outlet in the country, and it will gain some exposure to this serious corruption issue.

    Comment by Samantha Masters — March 4, 2010 @ 7:59 am

  29. I think we all know that all it takes for CPS to show up on someone’s door is an anonymous phone call whether the claim is valid or not.

In some states I believe it’s a felony to call in a false report to CPS but how often are they enforcing this? In North Carolina there are no laws and all it would take is an anonymous phone call from 1 person out of a population of 7.3 million people to put attorneys, doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, city council members, legislatures, ministers, media personnel, into the system.

If enough people suddenly found themselves in the system, maybe enough people would finally agree that this system is broken, it needs to be scrapped completely, or major legislation needs to be changed.

    Comment by Jason — March 4, 2010 @ 8:25 am

  30. Currently only 12 states require all parties to consent to being recorded. 38 states are one party consent states that don’t require you to let them know that they’re telephone conversations are being recorded.

Document everything. When you know what you’re legally allowed to do, CPS workers don’t know how to react and begin to realize they’re not going up against someone who they can manipulate

But today the case worker called my sister who has my children and told her that she will do everything in her power to keep me from getting my children back and that she is going to try to give them to me and once again she is trying to get my wife and myself to get a divorce. So since according to the supreme court of the United States of America they are in violation of my 14th amendment and because of the actions and words of one single person they have officialy declared war with me and I will stop at nothing until those people are out of a job and my children are back with me where they belong. This BS is way out of line and it will be stopped like I said I will not rest until this is fixed and I don’t care how many people I put out of work.

  35. I am still struggeling to get my kids back. With my fathers corrupt political agenda, and working for the cps department he was able to take 2 of my children but also seperate the other to to other reletives. This all stems from wanting to put back in place the grandparental rights here in wa. I repeatedly told cps this and that I was beaten as a child as well as my mother, they still have my 2 autistic children. I only get to talk to them 30 minutes a week. Beings he deals with building hud homes for them, cps is ignoring the police reports and jail time he served for dv against my mother, and the pictures and report of physical abuse against me when I was 14. Now that he is running in the next elections it seems the judge is in his pocket. Mr. Congineal needs to be seen for who he is, and my children need to come home.

  36. I was involved with CPS intervention from 2008-2009. I finally won my appeal and the entire case was dissmissed. I thought I would have legal action to sue the state’s agency, but it seems it is far more difficult to pursue legal action againt CPS than I had anticipated. I recently finished writing a book titled “God given right: A child protection story”. Which I published online at: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/10822
Please take the time to visit my website and feel free to read my story. The first portion is available free. Thank you and God bless you. To all who continue struggling against CPS, keep trusting in God.

To laugh is to risk appearing a FOOL! To weep is to risk appearing SENTIMENTAL! To reach out for another is to risk INVOLVEMENT! To expose one’s feelings is to risk REJECTION! To place your dreams before the crowd is to risk RIDICULE! To love is to risk not being loved in RETURN! To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk FAILURE! But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing, the person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and is NOTHING! He may avoid sufferings and sorrows, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or LOVE! Chained by his certitudes, he is a SLAVE! He has forfetited his FREEDOM! ONLY A PERSON WHO TAKES RISKS IS FREE!

    {CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES TRACK RECORD}
    - notice – l.a. county supervisor ed edelman started dcs/dcfs in 1984 & built children’s court in ‘92. that’s why it’s called “edelman’s children’s court.” the big push of picking up kids wholesale started in ‘90 because of all the federal funding being dumped on the state of calif. with most to l.a. co.

if you calculate the age of kids in the system in so. cal. since ‘84 to ‘04 they were about 20 yrs. old in 2004. in 2000 they were 16. if you calculate the age of kids in the system since 1990 to today’s yr. of 2007, they are 16 or 17 now. and most are in gangs. the murder rate in l.a. county alone has been about 900 to 1000 every yr. since the mid ‘90?s. do you see a correlation between kids raised in group & foster homes w/o a dad allowed in the picture (and) the alarmingly high murder rate? i do. coincidence?

and, do you see a correlation in our calif. prison populations of 33 state prisons, 9 federal prisons, a bunch of county jails & cya’s , all bulging at the seams? i do. coincidence?

did you know that what happens in our prisons will come out on the streets sooner or later? did you know there is a lot of racial politics & violence inside prisons and now there is a war in the streets between gangs & the cops? do you think foster youths are angry? i do.

do you think dcfs raising foster youths w/o fathers allowed in their kids lives are to blame for all this violence? i do! they are directly responsible.

is it going to get any better for calif. children who come out of 1 system at 18 and trade it for another system like cdc prison? it hasn’t.

do you think the high paid county & state bureau crates working in our calif. foster & group home system have made this correlation? i don’t.

do you think they even care? i don’t. not about the kid’s anyway.

what can you or those of us who have had their kids stolen by dcfs and hidden out in secret locations in 3 or 4 different counties by ‘kiddy’ court, do to stop them from wrecking our homes and return our kids to us who are willing & able to be good parents? do something! now

lets start protesting people! even if its just 1 person more will follow !lets set a date in each state and each city to protest against this stupid agencys

  41. Judge Scolds State Officials Over Missing Girl
    Lederman Calls Case Deplorable

    POSTED: 9:56 am PDT May 6, 2002
    UPDATED: 11:31 am PDT May 6, 2002

MIAMI — Judge Cindy Lederman unloaded on attorneys representing the Department of Children and Families Monday after that agency lost a 5-year-old girl who was supposed to be in their care.

Little Riyla Wilson (pictured, right and below right) is still missing more than a year after she was lost. At today’s hearing, Lederman called DCF’s actions in the matter deplorable and reprehensible.

“As you would expect I have a lot of questions,” Lederman (pictured, left) said, before going on to ask attorneys just where the little girl is. Video

Angry Judge Sounds Off: See What She Had To Say

“We do not know where this child is. She is missing,” said a DCF attorney.

Geralyn Graham, Wilson’s caretaker, surrendered the child to someone who identified themselves as a DCF worker in late 2000 or early 2001. The caseworker assigned to Wilson is accused of falsifying paperwork for more than a month after the 5-year-old’s disappearance, claiming she personally visited the girl when she didn’t, DCF administrators have said.

“In terms of the caseworkers who have some involvement in this deplorable situation, what action has been taken in regard to them?” Lederman asked

“Those individuals are no longer employees of the department,” said an attorney.

    “Great,” responded Lederman.

The judge went through at least six court appearances in the last year where Rilya’s case was discussed, and noted that the caseworker was often absent, and when she did appear, often lied.

“I don’t even know how to respond to what’s been done in this case by the caseworker, but she also defrauded the court,” Lederman said.

The judge also addressed the case of Riyla’s little sister, Rodricka, 3, who was removed from Graham’s care last week without telling the judge.

“Why, after everything that has happened in this case, after I have been kept in the dark about the status and well-being and placement of this child for one year, why would you think I would allow the department to remove this child’s sibling without my consent? Why would you even think that? And why would you even try and what is the department hiding?” Lederman demanded.

Attorneys for DCF denied they are hiding anything. The lawyers were ordered to show up for another hearing this afternoon at 1:30 to answer questions about why they took Rodricka. DCF attorneys did say that Rodricka was removed from the Graham home because she was at risk.

“I am ordering you to file a detention petition in this case and if you wish to appeal me that’s fine. The reason I am doing that is because it is absolutely despicable what has happened in this case and that I, who have the ultimate responsibility for this child, cannot perform my duties because I didn’t even know the child was missing,” Lederman said.

Meanwhile, police are awaiting word on DNA tests to learn if a girl found beheaded in Kansas City is little Rilya.

  43. I found another case

Another Baby Dies in Las Vegas Foster Care
A 7-month-old boy who was in foster care and brought to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition passed away.

The infant’s foster mother called paramedics Wednesday and when they arrived he was not breathing.

Two additional children, ages two and three, were also found in the residence. These children were booked into Protective Custody pending further investigation.

Police are investigating the possible abuse of another child in foster care and at the same time, a blue ribbon panel looked at the problems with the system.

The new director of Clark County’s Child Protective Services says he’s trying his best to fix the troubled department.

Tom Morton, the new director of family services, is trying to defend his troubled agency. The problem is he’s only been on the job for three weeks, so he’s defending an agency he barely knows.

For 30 years Morton has been trying to protect the most vulnerable of children. From Alabama to Illinois, his job hasn’t been easy.

“A long time ago a friend of mine described this work as like changing the fan belt with the motor running,” he says.

Child welfare isn’t something Morton always wanted to do. After graduate school he just kind of fell into it and then fell in love with it.

“It’s kind of like that old movie with Judy Garland where she sings to Clark Gable – “I didn’t want to love you but you made me do it.” I can think of no more satisfying way that I could have spent my life,” Morton says.

It’s why he thought he was up to the challenge of reforming clark county’s troubled department of family services.

He’s been the agency’s director for 15 days, but already its proving to be his most difficult task yet.

“People are asking why decisions got made before I was here and I really can’t answer that but again I need a sense of history to understand how we got to where we are.”

In his first 15 days, a child was left in a hot van alone by a child haven worker and in another case a 7-month-old boy in foster care was rushed to the hospital last night after he stopped breathing.

“Hopefully this is not going to be an example of how the next 49 weeks are gonna go.” Morton says.

Hopefully this won’t be the place that ends his 30-year love affair with child welfare work.

Today during that blue ribbon committee panel, Morton outlined one of the ways he believes could better the agency.

The plan includes working with parents of at-risk children first before pulling them out of their home and putting them into foster care.

  47. As L.A. County spun its wheels, children died
INNOCENTS BETRAYEDAgencies have long failed to share information that could save lives. Repeatedly, ghastly cases shock officials, who call for action, which eventually fizzles. An effective database remains elusive.
June 14, 2009|Garrett TherolfBy the time he was rescued last year, the 5-year-old South Los Angeles boy was so malnourished his kidneys were failing. His hands were so badly burned he could barely open them.

Child welfare officials traced his history, trying to make sense of what had happened. According to documents obtained by The Times, they learned that eight separate agencies in Los Angeles County had pieces of information on the household:

One had evidence that the mother and her girlfriend were abused and neglected as children. Others knew both had committed violent crimes. Still others were aware that both women had been ordered into mental health treatment and that the sickly boy had missed appointments with county doctors.

Over the years, these agencies had come into contact with the boy or his caregivers 108 times — yet no one had pieced together how much danger the child was in. Indeed, county social workers had closed a 2005 child abuse investigation because the evidence was “inconclusive.” They might never have stepped in but for a concerned stranger who delivered the child into their hands.

It was a lesson in how poor communication had put a child’s life at risk — but it was hardly the first. For at least 18 years, Los Angeles County has repeatedly received urgent and sometimes gruesome reminders that its agencies don’t share vital information about potentially abused or neglected children, according to a Times investigation.

There have been numerous calls for reform — but little action. In the passing years, an unknown number of children have been harmed or killed.

At least a dozen reports have landed on county leaders’ desks since the early 1990s saying agencies that work with troubled families must improve their ability to talk to each other. County supervisors have freely admitted that the system is broken, and even have voted several times to establish computer systems to open communication channels.

Solutions have been doomed by bureaucratic infighting, turf wars, privacy concerns and limited political attention spans. When horrific deaths or abuse drop out of the news, the board and department heads often focus elsewhere, leading to long stretches of inaction — until another case gives them a terrible jolt.

“I couldn’t believe it,” former Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke said last year, upon learning of the 5-year-old’s ordeal. “Our system has to be just tighter. . . . This is a time when we really have to be vigilant

A few web site actually show the Federal Law which requires states to seek out kinship care. However, the Federal Law requires it only if:
“the states wishes to receive federal funding or reimbirsement”.

Who knows what kind of accounting is given to the Fed’s as so called proof that a state is using knship care first.

You can read some of it at http://www.abnet.org/child/kinshipcare.shtml.Also, if you search “federal law, HB #, kinship care” you will get every single house bill # for each and every state, one state per site. Then you can read your states house bill standings, regarding use of kin first.

  57. PLEASE HELP – still can’t find an attorney. Also, due the EVIL child abusing monsters from Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services (yes, LA County uses oxymoron to name their child abusing agencies) threat to bring new and false (which they know as I’ve got internal documents from LA County the prove they know these are false charges) both the out-of-state-institution where my daughter was sent last year (after years of severe drug abuse and two suicide attempts) and my own daughter (she still a minor) have written letters stating that I have not abused her and also note that my child has apologized to me. Just the same, the evil Nazis from LA County REFUSE to state that they will not following through with their plans to file new and absolutely bogus charges (again, I have internal documents from LA County that state this is what they are planning on doing).

Please help. Does anyone, anywhere, know of an attorney that will take this on?

On a side note, I’m not sure if it’s mentioned on this site (I’ve been too stressed to look this past week) but the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the Humphries vs. Los Angeles County case where the Nazis from LA County and the State of California did exactly the same thing to another innocent family as they did to mine. That case is may be found here:

    http://onthedocket.org/cases/2009/los-angeles-county-v-humphries

It was on the Supreme Court site (and may still be) but, as one might expect from a government agency, their web site is a mess and the previous link to the case is now dead. A Google each, using their cache option, still shows the case though.

  59. After Texas CPS received a report from an ex spouse regarding three children in my home they showed up at my home and after I voluntarily allowed them to speak to one of the children in question to find out what was going on the case worker went within five minutes from she felt the children were safe from being questioned and in a clean safe enviroment to stay in before their CAC interview to FORCING me to sign a document stating they could remove my child from the home. I asked what would happen if I didnt sign and was told they would take her out of my home anyhow, so I signed to allow my child to go to a relatives home where I knew the child would be safe. I now know that without a court order you DO NOT HAVE TO ALLOW CPS into your home and if they show up DO NOT DO SO or allow them to speak with your children without you or counsel present.

They have carried this situation into a 9 month situation which has cost my family over $20,000 as well as my job for having to take off so much to work with them to try to resolve their issues however they still state I was unprotective of my children which was proven nonsense in court. They involved ex-spouses and helped the two communicate and I have CPS records that are 3 inches thick of ex-spouses being the ONLY ones making accusations and they acted on every one of them which in turn did nothing but traumatize my children more. They were shown the ex-spouses history which included violence, drug use, attempted suicides etc they were shown police records, court documents etc and still stated that it was not a concern to them and that they felt the childrens safety was fine with the ex-spouses.

CPS will compensate for what they have done to my family however there is NO WAY they could ever undo the life long damage and pain they have inflected on my children as well as myself and our families reputation. If anybody else has been affected by CPS in Texas I can help and will be more than happy to do so to stop this from occurring to undeserving families. However I feel CPS in SOME cases do help innocent children who have and do need assistance but I also feel that they take their power and act upon families who are good upstanding families and in doing so damage and traumatize children and parents in the process. If we would not have seeked out help from a certain individual on our own we would have what family we do have today…or what is left of it, thanks to them….. We also have children who are in deep depression and angst due to their harrassment of them and still continuasly harrassing our family even now the case is closed.

  60. TEXAS CPS RIP OFF REPORTS

    Comment by JusticeNTx — March 22, 2010 @ 6:00 am

  61. Web-based system lets police, social workers share data on child abuse

    http://articles.latimes.com/2010/feb/26/local/la-me-child-abuse26-2010feb26

L.A. County’s district attorney calls the implementation a ‘giant leap forward’ and says the system, designed to prevent cases from falling through the cracks, is the first of its kind in the U.S.

    February 26, 2010|By Victoria Kim

Los Angeles County authorities on Thursday announced an electronic system for sharing information on suspected child abuse among social workers, police agencies and prosecutors, a move they said would reduce the number of abused or neglected children whose cases fall between the cracks.

Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley called the Web-based Electronic Suspected Child Abuse Report System a “giant leap forward” and said it is the first of its kind in the nation.

Since its launch in April, police agencies in L.A. County have been signing onto the system, and now all are onboard, officials said. About 28,000 reports have been entered into the system so far.

The online reporting “will tremendously enhance everyone’s role in . . . protecting our children from harm and mediating their difficult situations and sometimes taking them directly out of harm’s way,” Cooley said.

California law requires that child welfare agencies and law enforcement cross-report any allegations of child abuse so a criminal investigation can be launched at the same time that social workers are looking after the child’s welfare.

Previously, the cross-reporting between agencies relied on a patchwork system via fax or mail that led to reports being lost in the shuffle or being sent to the wrong agency, causing errors and delayed police response. In some cases, charges were dismissed or lesser charges were filed against alleged abusers because of missing information, officials said.

Under the old system, it was also hard for social workers to find out whether criminal charges were ever filed against a child’s alleged abuser or to keep track of the court case.

With the new system, investigators working on a child abuse case will be able to see previous reports involving the same child or suspect, including incidents that are often not on the suspect’s rap sheet but can be evidence of a “pattern of abusive acts or behavior.”

When a report of suspected abuse is made to the county Department of Children and Family Services, the information is shared through the Internet almost instantaneously with the police agency in the child’s region. The faster response by law enforcement will help in obtaining victim statements or retaining evidence, officials said. The police investigators will in turn update the electronic report with their findings, helping the social worker in following up with the child.

“Before, we would wait for a social worker to call us before we could respond, because we didn’t know where this paper was. With this system, it’s immediate,” said Sgt. Dan Scott of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “In our view this is a life-saving system.”

Why are social workers now having the power to act like Peace officers, and accessing their data, Social Workers are not police officers they do not have the same training or should share the same powers. But now they have more ways to harass people and to help more false accusations get through! So people whatever you tell these social workers becomes evidence against you in both criminal and dependency cases. Because now both the police and the prosecutors can get your statements and violate your 5th amendment by using this social workers as a form of duress to incriminate you and have more evidence to build cases against parents.

This is a violation of the 5th amendment and 4th as well as 14th bull crap !

  62. You guys are funny. I have worked in CPS for over 10 years and have never thought we were perfect. Of course children die and slip through the cracks, but why blame DHS or CPS? What about the parents that hurt or killed them? And where was god when this happened? Wasn’t he looking out for “his children” or does he not mind having the blood of children on his hands? The religious debate is neither here nor there, but what you are being told here is not the truth. Removal of parental rights is a tough thing to do. It takes the police, the worker, a supervisor and the courts to do it, not just DHS Take a good look in the mirror and do some soul searching and you will find that the removals are almost always needed at the time. It takes more than an annonymous phone call to get us to come. We investigate before we even show up. Only about 30% of calls get investigated and .006% of those are removals. KNOW YOUR FACTS. What you are being told here is a lie. To get your rights terminated, you have to not do anything AT ALL for a 15 month period. Also I love that no one is guilty. Hillarious! I got into this job to help the community and for the most part people are happy we do our job. Of course, for people like you, you need someone to blame for your inability to keep your children safe. That is your problem. I know that the people who run this site will never put up this post, but mainly it is for them. I think you are doing a serious disservice to most of these people. They need help in so many ways and websites like these only confirm what is mainly denial. The irony is that you are actually making it so that they are not getting their children back by pretending that we are the problem. 1in 4 children suffer sex abuse, 1 in 3 are abused in some way. If there is a god, please ask him why I clean up his messes. Grow up, it is time to be an adult.

  63. Kevin, you must be in denial. There are many false accusations. Many social worker reports contain lies and misrepresentations. Some of your statements look like lies to me.

    Comment by LindaJoMartin — March 25, 2010 @ 7:59 am

  64. The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect conducted a study that Kevin may be unaware of or chooses to ignore. The # of cases per 100,000 children in the U.S. Physical abuse while in CPS custody=160, while in parents custody=59. Sexual abuse, CPS=112, parents=13. Neglect, CPS=410, parents=241. Medical Neglect, Cps=14, parents=12. Fatalities, CPS=6.4, parents=1.5. This was a one year study conducted just a few years ago. Do your own research. You put your family at risk by trusting DHS social workers to work for you. They don’t work for you. They work for the state. Stand your ground and don’t be intimidated. I’ll say it one more time. It is YOUR FAMILY who is at risk by trusting DHS.

  67. I am looking to join your forums. I am currently involved in a cps case where my child has been removed from my home with no adequate reasoning behind it. CPS is changing the story on why she cannot return to me every week. One day it’s that I am refusing to feed her, the next it’s that I am emotionally unstable and then that I am detached.

The “emotional stability” that is being questioned is due to the psych evaluation that was court ordered after removal saying that I was depressed…I want to know what parent wouldn’t suffer from this after having their child taken from them.

The “refusing to feed her” came from the failure to thrive diagnosis in which a doctor said “we don’t care why your daughter is throwing up all we care about is getting her rehydrated”. She got sick and no one cared to find out why and because the massive throwing up (it lasted for 7.5 hours every 5-10 minutes and she is 1 yr old) caused her to dehydrate I am not feeding her!!! They said I was detached from her when I left the hospital at night (I was told I was not allowed to be there past 9pm) and to get food other than the cafeteria food at the hospital.

I have yet to find a link to sign up for the forums so if someone could let me know how to do so it would be appreciated. I just want to know if there are others out there who have fought back and the outcome from doing so.

  68. To that guy claiming hes a social worker. Kevin!! You think that you’re helping people, by making them loose their children, make it impossible for them to get jobs and do your ridiculous case plans, 5 days a week to go to stupid parenting classes and worthless therapies that don’t help anyone seriously, maybe the parenting classes might learn a thing or two, but therapies are ridiculous, they are not helping a single mom who had 2 jobs and had no child support or father figure for their children to help her raise them and has to have 2 jobs and leaves her teenagers alone for a few hours a day and is called a bad mom and taken to dependency court, where she has to go after liars like you Kevin, and people who will not offer her any help instead put jumps, hoops and force her to sign a case plan with all these ridiculous objectives if not loose her children, and still have to do all the parenting classes and other things required by your agencies, while then in order for her to do those things she has to quit her job and ends up homeless, and becomes stressed and then is called a homeless crazy women, who then your agency turns into a criminal and puts so much stress and pressure on that she turns to alcohol and depression. Then your job is done right, you get an erection from seeing people in pain huh, you sick worthless piece of shit parasite.

  71. I agree with Kevin. I too am a CPS worker and while I agree that there are mistakes and corruption with any agency, any corporation, any job, not all employees are corrupt or dishonest. There are plenty of honest, hard working, good intentioned CPS workers that are working to protect children from harm and death. This website seems to be very black and white; all or nothing. and doesn’t give any credit to the factual child abuse and the need for an agency to intervene. what does this website say to the drug addicts, sociopathic and mentally ill parents who just shouldn’t or can’t parent because of their own incapacities? does the constitution say that children are property and can be raised and treated any way the parents want? does this website imply that children are not severely harmed, burned, shaken and killed at the hands of their parents? are you trying to deny that this exists in America or around the world? what is you solution for that then? I am just dumbfounded that you will only provide one sided information in this website and cast blame on CPS. Everyday that I see a dead child or a baby in a coma from being shaken from a parent who is detoxing from Meth or a toddler who was sold for sex thanks to his drug addicted parent, I thank God for my job. And you should too. Shame on you and your pathetic onesided website. Have the balls to atleast post all the information.

  75. Who in the name of Hell are the Child Abusing CPS workers – Kevin and HardworkingSW (hard at abusing CHILDREN) – in this thread – my DAUGHTER IS LOCKED UP IN A PSYCHIATRIC FACILITY AFTER FOUR YEARS (yes, I’m YELLING) of SEVERE DRUG ABUSE – methamphetamine, heroine, LSD, ecstasy, etc., etc., etc., TWO SUICIDE ATTEMPTS, and much more. ALL OF THOSE are a DIRECT RESULT OF THE FACT THAT I CALLED CPS TO BEGIN WITH – and the bastards from Los Angeles County CPS not only REFUSED to investigate but instead falsely tried and “convicted ME” without ANY DUE PROCESS, etc., etc.

My 16-year-old child is now BRAIN DAMAGED because of A**hole Nazi Child Abusers like Keven and hardworkingSW. I hope they and their neo-nazis cretins all rot in Hell for what they do, on a daily basis, to INNOCENT PARENTS who LOVE THEIR CHILDREN.

  76. Linda-then my question is posed to you: how does your website weed out those who post their rants on here that ARE the guilty ones? How do you know you are not encouraging people to fight against “the evil” CPS when they have done wrong? What do you say to advocating fighting a system that is in place to also catch those who do harm their children-because it’s the same system that you claim is dishonest and corrupt? They are one and the same unfortunately. And you still have not answered my question of why you don’t give some credit to the CPS agencies that do intervene child abuse and neglect and save children’s lives? Why does your website not clearly point out that this is for people who are WRONGLY accused and not for ALL people with CPS intervention? Can you atleast agree that CPS and the like are a needed entity for the massive amount of parents and adults out there who regularly and routinely abuse and nelgect their children? And for the record, I’d say that a bulk of the parents I work with a) feel they have done nothing wrong, even when they are clearly using drugs and neglecting their children b) denied that drug use-mental illness-poor decision making impacts their ability to safely and productively parent c) think that beating their children is a right as a parent. Maybe you should be more objective when promoting your “fight against the man” and consider that there are good people out there who work for CPS that are honest, care about the families that they work with, agree that children are always better with their parents and if not, with their blood relatives, and that ultimately are doing something good? Just be careful about what you are promoting and keep an open mind about the good side of social services.

  77. to respond to your message,
you should not talk about the constitution because apparently you do not know it, that entitles parents to raise their children with out government interference. So you’re only giving your side of the story calling people druggies, and bad parents, but then again its only your side of the story, because these people can’t give their side of the story or fight back because they have no money or resources.

i am sure there are unstable people out there, but if the police and your agencies dcfs, show up to see if there is any neglect or these people are bad parents how come the cops don’t arrest the parents and put the children in custody of the state, because there’s probably no crime and they do not believe the children are at risk or the lies your agency and social workers build and say and make up.

yes there are druggies out there but tell me what law does it say that its against the law for a drug addict to have a child and to raise his child, its against the law for him to commit crimes against his child but then again you’re a social worker you’re not a peace officer or do you have the powers of a peace officer to arrest anyone or to say what’s against the law or not because social workers do not take law classes or administration of justice or legal aspects of evidence none of that , all it takes to be a social worker is to be a lesbian or a homosexual pig rapist with a spycology masters or a human services bachelor..

so for the 2 children you claim you save, 0430934909390439 in foster care that you removed from parents get raped, beat, killed, hanged, burn, molested by your co workers, and humiliated and then later after they get older put in juvenile hall by your own social workers…but when they turn 18 they let them live in the street with no money or anything. then they can go back to their bad parents right looser.

the neighbor called the cops cause my husband and i were fighting, and no matter what i said to the cops they believed he “tried to kill me” WTF ever, the cop said he held a gun to me when i had my back to him and was leaving. I freaked.
the DETECTIVE called the CPS cause i did not believe my husband would do that and was crying. she stated “i was unable to protect my children”
So now i am unable to talk to my husband DHS forced me to get a restraining order if i want my kids back. all from false reports…
they may think i am abused, but shouldn’t they get the facts first? before removing children from there home.
i filed complaints against the cops and even spoke personally with the police chief. but none of this will fix dhs even if my husband is found not guilty.. it’s hard.

  80. Please post hardworking, child abuser social worker’s e-mail address – he/she is so ARROGANT and OFFENSIVE that it makes me want to vomit. Literally hundreds of THOUSANDS of innocent people have been tried and convicted in California, alone, in direct violation of their Constitutional Rigths – as very clearly determined by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Humphires vs. County of Los Angeles case (which is now headed for the US Supreme Court because arrogant social workers, like hardworkingsw, suffer from a messiah complex and play God by tearing families apart – everyday. Better yet, ban hardworkingsw althogether – people come to this site for help – not to read drivel like hardworkingsw’s posts about how “wonderful” CPS is. BTW, I’m a mandated reporter myself and I can literally tell story, after story, after story about kids that really were abused but NEVER helped by CPS.

And, should you hopefully ban hardworkingsw from this site, post his/her e-mail address and IP address too – that way we can tell where the beast is from.

Abused Father, if the social workers cross the line by being abusive to people on this site (as they often do) I will post their location as shown by their IP numbers – that is in my posted Privacy Policy. So long as they are posting politely they will not be banned. Though I don’t agree with them, I won’t ban them, as it gives us an opportunity to share our opinions on the child welfare system. Who knows, maybe something we can say will soften their hearts, wake up their spirits, and save a family.

I don’t believe that these social workers are capable of seeing the light – my own child has been permanently brain damaged by exactly the same type of arrogant “social workers.” I am, however, all for saving the children and families they destroy. 83. what’s really sad is that the majority of the caseworkers who think they are doing children and families “justice” have no children of their own and have learned their “parenting skills” from some book or classroom in “socialworker school”. They do not, in most cases, have the evidence needed in real court to prove that a crime has been commited therefore they have what they call “family court”, which is their own court with their own lawyers and their own system of justice, only to keep the funding coming into the “beast”. The Bible says “the love of money is the root of all evil”. I say follow the money. This caseworker has obviously believed the lies she has been told and she is most likely good at lies herself. If she ever decided to buck the system and tell the truth she would no longer have a job. My guess is she gets paid handsomely for the “work” she does. The devil rewards his servants well.

  85. Recently my family and I have become victims of CPS.

My ex-husband hit my daughter in the face. I was not present at the time as we live apart, and I have had custody of my girls ever since. This was the 1st time he ever hit the girls EVER. Now we are fighting for our lives, DCFS claims I am mentally ill and unable to protect my daughters. I love how the Russian immigrant social worker who barely speaks English is able to diagnose myself and my daughters….according to him, they are mentally ill too. My childrens’ court appointed attorney has told my daughters that “in my opinion you could use a break from both your parents” !!! I left the court and immediately hired a private attorney.

The 5K retainer is just the beginning, and I feel fortunate because I have the money. There goes Summer Camp for my kids this year. This is an outrage and as soon as I get through this horrible invasive situation- I want to sue DCFS.

  86. Nick, I’d just say that they are good parents and leave it at that. You can say, “I have no further comments to make.” You are not required to talk to CPS workers; they are not law enforcement agents.

It would be very helpful to your friends if you would write out and sign a declaration (statement) saying that you have seen them with their children and know they are good parents. (You would want to personalize that according to the situation and discuss it with them first.) There’s a sample declaration in the legal document library here on FightCPS.

Legal declarations from friends such as yourself can be valuable evidence in court. You might want to inform your friends that if they don’t sign away their rights with a guilty plea in court they will be able to request a full trial. Once they sign, that right goes away.

  88. PLEASE HELP—WI CPS’s have taken my sisters children for the 3rd time in 2 years–the first time he (who is now 6) was at the hospital for surgery to remove a bump under his arm and a nurse located a scar (from when he fell off of a bike 2 years earlier) she immediately contacted cps and they removed the child and siblings from my sister at the hospital–when they finally returned them approx 8 mths later the same child was at daycare when cps was at the facility for another child–he mentioned that he gets spankings too and they removed the children again…she got them back and now her son got a spanking by step father for wrestling with their 7 mth old baby after being told continuously over and over to stop–he went to school and told his teacher who then called cps and had him removed again–they also went to the house and removed 2 other children including the baby…on each occasion they have never called any relatives.

Now that i am trying to get them out of foster care my sister and i are getting the run around WE HAVE NO MONEY for an attorney in WI and though we all work we cannot afford the costly retainers….the child has since run away from foster care parent, choked other children, and has suffered emotionally because of this..they are placing with father..the child has witnessed the father abuse the mother years earlier…the cps officials are railroading our family and i need all the help i can get to help my sister who to do these searches herself…they will not let me in the courtroom or in the meetings to help my sister, they tell her that she is not remorseful enough, called some attorneys who state they are unable to take case because she has not been charged with the abuse (and there are no charges against her though 1 abuse charge pending for fiance), they also are saying that she has changed from abuse to neglect because she was at home when he got spanked (3 x’s on the butt) and threatening that she will never get her kids if she does not cooperate with them and accuse her fiance of abusing the child.

They have also stated that she must move out with me and she can get children back, but when she did they refused to come to my home to investigate safe home because she was there…please help me someone—I want to fight but do not know where to begin…there is so much more to this case but not enough space to continue….thanks so much

It is truly pathetic that people like you that think they are special are allowed to cause damage to innocent children. To let you know, 6 months ago someone called in a phony tip that drugs were being sold in my mom’s house and when the police showed up my 2 nephews just happened to be there, CPS was called by the police and with no investigation and no contact with my sister(who btw, was at the hospital with my grandpa who was rushed to the ER and had left the boys with her boyfriend) oh and a couple of more facts, the boys had been less than an hour and NO DRUGS WERE FOUND! In the ensuing months, my sister has been called everything from a bad parent to a druggie and everything in between. It should be through educating. I am not arrogant or ignorant. I am a mother and believe in the good of people and parents. I earned a masters degree with hard work and i did take classes in criminal justice, infact I am married to a police officer. I can only work with the system that is given to me and try to do whats right and best. If I was more interested in politics I would try to lobby to change the system myself. The state in which I live does not require police present to remove children. We do, however, need to be accountable for our actions in court and the child needs to be in imminent danger. LA DFCS is it’s own monster with a faulty system and no money to repair it.

  94. to respond to the hardworkingSW why dont u give everyone here your name, and information so we can contact you personally and tell you our story, instead of you saying your better then god, disrespecting everyone on here who comes here to tell their story, remamber theres always 2 sides of everystory, and its not like 1 person is saying DCFS,CPS always has the same story against parents, because it is true your agencys and your cowardly CSWs have an agenda and a job to do right, but no one! could see that agenda or the job your supposed to do, because everything your agencys and cws do are confidential from the media, on closed doors i mean if you have nothing to hide well then say your real name, give your real email adress and your work information so that people can tell you their side of the story so maybe you can open your eyes and realized that your not better thenGOD! and your not cleaning gods errors! by far i think you are nothing but a coward because in your first attack statement you were the one being disrespectfull not only to the owner of this website but everyone else who opposes DCFS and their practices. You are a Coward once again your mind and your whole mentality has been sexually molested by your own supervisors and dcfs that in every response you twist words and try to attack the peoples characters lol as DCFS does in courts! your nothing but a cowardly wimpy csw, you need to catch up boy! because honestly the only thing you have is your pen and your mouth just like a prostitute in vegas! lol so run wimpyCSW and hide because you wouldnt show your face not even at courts or trials because ur a weak scared child rapist, who was a geek in high school and hanged out with his younger brothers who were cooler then your self, so thats why u rape and hate children because even children are cooler and have a social life then u huh Hardworking Wimpy Social CHILD RAPIST! misslindajomartin give that rapist email and ip adress please i bet he will hide and run away to his Supervisor lol hey what should i do Supervisor lol hahaa what a coward!

  95. If you are innocent the best thing to do is educate yourself. If you are GUILTY you are going down. CPS is out to do what they say and that is Protect Kids and they have their way of doing it. This website has good and Bads I have determined. The best thing to do is hire an attorney and stay strong. Innocent Parents do get hit and mostly by people using and abusing the system. THERE IS JUSTICE.

  96. To ThestoryofaWimpyCSW: While it is true that some social workers have been found guilty of rape, I don’t think that all social workers are rapists, except in the figurative sense of ‘raping families’ by destroying them, taking the children to a less safe environment, etc.

There’s no doubt whatsoever that the entire CPS phenomena has given child predators (pedophiles) an easy way to gain access to children who are not of their family – whether that be by becoming a foster parent or a social worker. I’ve seen cases of each being convicted of child molestation during the years I’ve had this site and done my research. The ones you have to watch out for are those that didn’t get caught. It is definitely a scary system and not good for children, overall, though it may help a very few who were actually being abused in their homes.

Though there is evidence of pedophile social workers it is wrong to assume that all social workers have evil intent. I do believe that even those that want to do good will be poisoned by the laws they are forced to operate under, and by demands made by supervisors.

  97. hardworkingSW- I lost my kids cause a police dectived lied and said i was unable to make safe choices for my children. over the fact she claimed my husband held a gun to me. when i got back the police reports I learned that that wasn’t true and the charges for my husband where dropped. but guess what? CPS doesn’t care and are STILL not giving us that kids back. until we go through a treatment plan? Is that normal? Cause it seems extremely MESSED UP. Kids where taken on lies that was proven. but they still are holding the kids??

  98. CPS ARE NOT SOCIAL WORKERS.
THEY DO NOT ATTEND COLLEGE OR SCHOOL.
THEY ARE NOT LICENSED WITH THE STATE.
    THEY HAVE NO CRIEDENTIALS.
    THEY ARE UNTRAINED.
THEY LIE ABOUT THEIR “CREDENTIALS” ON
    DOCUMENTS.
. A SEPARATE “WRITER” IS USED TO CREATE THEIR SHIT. CPS WORKERS DO NOT WRITE THIER OWN REPORTS, LETTERS,ETC.

  99. To the social workers posting here:

I would like to know where these “good” workers were when my son was being repeatedly forced to perform oral sex on his foster father. Where were those workers when my son’s hair was being pulled, when the foster parents were throwing pointed darts at him, when he was being shaken. Where were they then?

My son was 4 years old at the time. Those monthly visits that were supposed to be made by his workers (he had 6 or 7 of them within a year), those visits never happened. If they had, maybe my son would still be the happy the little boy he used to be.

Now my son will need therapy for the rest of his life, all thanks to your wonderful system!

And do you want to know what the worst of it is?? I’m told that state governments have immunities that protect them from being held accountable. The foster parents that my son was placed with should never have had a foster care license to begin with! The father was in therapy for “extreme anger issues” (I got that little term right out of a CPS report, in case you were wondering), and he was also on a “psychotropic drug” for these issues. And yet he was still allowed to be a foster parent.

I see something very wrong with this picture… Don’t you?

And I’d also like to add that my son was taken from his Aunt’s care by a CPS Investigator handling one of her first cases. She decided that SHE was better than God. She LIED to the judge to get my son thrown into foster care.

THIS is the kind of system you are defending? You should be smacked for your ignorance. Open your eyes and look around you. You social workers are nothing but terrorists. Plain and simple.

  100. I have spent a lot of time fighting with CPS (false allegations) which I won, and the family law court. See my website at http://www.fathershelpnetwork.org.

  101. I recently had my 2 boys taken by cps. Cps dropped the case after 1 month because they found I was a good parent. But I did not get them back. Any suggestions? HELP!

  102. Jessica, you can get feedback on your case on the FightCPS Message Board Forum. My first thought is that you may have to go to family court, or, maybe you just need to go get them!
