Tracy - my suggestions: (1) request a trial, (2) write your own legal documents (samples here in the legal document library), and (3) take photos of your home to show the judge, with beds for the kids, etc.. (4) if possible hire an independent evaluator to serve as an expert witness, (5) have your local social services office look at your home and approve it. These cases are won by a preponderance of evidence. Try your best to have the preponderance on your side of the table!!

Hello Fellow Parents of legally kidnapped children,
I sympathize with all of you as my children have been in the foster care system for 8yrs now while I was trying to get my disabilties under control. All this time I fought not only for my health but also for my children doing everything they ever placed on their court written ransom note. Only now the judge says it took me too long to get well and they have been authorized to take me to court to remove my rights and adopt my children out. They have all been placed in seperate homes so they don’t even have the comfort of each other.

I don’t want to just be a cry in the night. Nothing will get done if we all cry out here where only each other sees it. We need another Rosa parks we need some one to say NO! I WON”T GO TO THE BACK OF THE BUS! we need another boston tea party or american revolution. United We Stand Divided we fall as they say divide and conquer.

I have nothing left to lose my children are all I have. I will be that Rosa Parks if there are others to join me. My children were supposed to come home when I got them a house so I did But I had to move out of state and because they knew they could no longer snoop in my life they sent down false allegations and the new state refused to watch me even making there own false allegation to ADD TO THE MESS.They claimed my house smelt like cat urine. I have 1 cat and her box is scooped daily and emptied 2x a week. I even stick air fresheners on the wall above tha box. she gets the best litter the scented one because I personally can’t stomach a dirty house. I go to court July 1st 2010 if anyone can make any suggestions please send them to mommaofakc[@]yahoo.com

Please don’t complain unless you have the fight in you to band together to STOP CPS from removing children that have less than perfect but not abusive homes.

Jessica, have you been taken to court or is this just an excessively long investigation? Are they making you sign service plans? If you're going to court you could try submitting the "Objections and Corrections to the Report of the Social Worker"... found here in the legal document library. If you're just being subjected to constant harassment with an open case... that's something you might want to take to a state administrative hearing charging the caseworkers with excessive harassment of your family. In any case, it is really hard for me to guess what might be best in your case, without knowing more about what's going on. I do hope you've got an attorney! (I'm not an attorney and can't give legal advice.) For more feedback on your case, try the message board.

I have three children. My youngest had a stroke in utero. I have had dhs involved for almost three years and ave had my kids taken three times. They keep throwing it at me that if I screw up the kids or with their dad who lives out of state, doesn’t have a driver license or a job. But they keep trying to prove me unstable in which they will never be able to do. I have had my job for 7 years and the one before that 5 and half. I just turned 28 in january. All I want is my kids and for these people to leave me alone. I want to move out of the county but DHS tell me I cant. Any suggestions Please help

And “strengthening families” kind of sounds like the kind of Orwellian language that those quintessential hypocrites, CPS, use. Stick with FightCPS, please.

I like the name, FightCPS. It’s short and no so sweet, gets the message across, and probably helps this website get a lot of hits because I would imagine that a lot of people type those two words in when their most precious possession has been so brutally ripped from them. It’s also important to acknowledge that when a parent is a victim of CPS, they ARE in for the fight of their lives, so why sugar coat it. Stick with FightCPS; it’s a good name.

I live in AZ. Marina? If you want to keep these grandbabies in your life, you need to decide right now. YOU are your childrens and graandchildrens’ saving grace in this. And this means leaving your state for as long as it takes. I know this as I fought for 2 years putting 93,000 miles on my SUV in just 11 months!!!

It is important to note that THIS is not just about your 22-24 yr old kids fighting CPS. If you, the grandparents do not step up to the plate from the very beginning, they will use that fact against you.

CPS will say “since the grandparents have not involved themselves, there is NO bond left between them and the grandchildren”. Been there, even when it was not true.

What saved me was, being at every single CFT meeting, every last court date, follow up meeting, hiring a “family” attorney to represent ALL persons within our bloodline and by marriage. I MISSED NOTHING!!! Even with that, CPS said tha “we had no loving bond” with our 4 grandgirls, simply beause over the summer of 2007, the foster parents kept them away from us, while they went to adoption classes that CPS arranged without our knowledge.

I had court ordered weekend visitation and had to drive to 4 different foster homes all over the state of AZ. Cps planned that out well;;;;;for them!

I played this game for 93,000 miles, 2 vehicles, $35000 in lawyer fees and 17 months in an effort not to lose my grandbabies. And in the end..I WON, with the judge “reluctantly” agreeing to give me sole guardianship of them.
But I do have the threat of jail hanging over my head if I give them back to their parents.

So, please consider very carefully what you want and who you want in your future RIGHT NOW.

You only have days to begin your journey, if that.

my daughter n law set me down when i wnet to pick up my 3 grandkids. she told me she felt like a bad mother……that she felt like a loser….but she kicked my son out because she felt she was missing out on life. she stated she would do nothing 2 keep their father or their grandparents from seeing them, that there was more out there for her. just 4 short months later she started with the false cps accusations concerning the eldist child….then it was the middle child….and now we are at the youngest…..only 7 short months later she (ex daughter n law) starts the lies that will keep my son (and us) away from the children 4 atleast 4 months!!!! where is the law!!!!!!

So true – it is a lot like Nazi Germany now. Do you realize the persecution of Anne Frank’s family started with an attempt by the Gestapo to take the oldest daughter? Sounds familiar…
