I realize what you and others are doing to help raise funds and awareness and that is wonderful but
1. this young woman’s life is on the line
2. even if the criminal charges are dismissed, CPS will find other means to take the children away–we all know that.

I know it is hard to look to the end when so much depends upon the beginning but in my personal opinion, I do think it is important.

You might also have your parents approach the AARP in hopes of securing an attorney for the civil aspect only of this case.

The AARP does help grandparents with grandparent visitation suits–this is outside of the social service law and might be worth a go.

Another suggestion would be to contact your state senator.

You have an awful lot on your plate right now and I know it is very hard. Use all of your mental muscle to think ahead and plan step by step.

And, as hard as it is; try to stay calm. It is not easy but it is necessary.

I am not an attorney. I can not advise you or give you legal counsel. But until you get legal counsel, I would, if it were me, do the following:

As hard as it may seem with the children gone for now, do all possible to concentrate on the criminal case.

Either you or a friend or relative should start taking down names and getting sworn affidavits now from all the neighbors from the party who will attest to your wife’s innocence.

Do this NOW. Don’t wait. It is better to have these documents sworn to and dated as closely to the party as possible.
All you need to do this is a notary. These should be affidavits -sworn affidavits, not just statements.

You were very wise to take your daughter to another doctor for a second opinion. Please try to get a hold of this doctor’s original report as soon as possible.

Do you or anyone else have photos of the children at the party? If so, and hopefully they are dated, get them.

As to an attorney, I know it is difficult to find and/or retain one.

The public defender may not be that bad, some aren’t.

Have you made contact with him/her?

In my humble lay opinion, I would not plea out but that is my humble personal opinion only. I can’t abide an innocent person being forced to plea out.

As to social services, they may try to “break” you. If you are sure your wife is innocent then stand firm.

Again, this is all just my personal feeling. You must obtain legal counsel or if you are forced to use the public defender make contact with him/her right away and start prepping for trial.
