Child Protective Services, CPS, has devastated and destroyed hundreds of thousands of families in America during the last thirty years leaving a trail of broken hearts, broken dreams, and shattered childhoods.
Rather than helping families, government agents have used unconstitutional laws in Juvenile Court to rip children away from their loving parents, break asunder God-given, natural, parent-child bonds, and adopt the children of the grieving out to others who profit financially with large monthly adoption subsidy payments.
Child Protective Services must be stopped! The law that started this, CAPTA, must be repealed. We must work tirelessly to inform the public of this very dangerous travesty of justice. We must keep faith knowing that if there is a God, there is an answer and a way to end this heartache.
Child Protective Services Agents - please come to your senses! Family destruction on false or trivial grounds is wrong, reprehensible, and inhumane.
Fosterers - be aware that for the money you get you are holding much-loved children away from their grieving families while the parents are forced to perform a service plan that is anything but a service to them. I call this hostage holding for the government. This is not kindness - to help misguided government agents destroy family relationships and break loving bonds.
CPS workers and fosterers - I ask that you now let the children of the innocent return to their homes where they are truly valued, adored, and loved by the parents God gave them.
Family rights are God-given rights. And they should not be ignored or postponed. Every moment these loving parents and children spend separated from one another is a torment beyond what anyone should ever have to bear.
It is unworthy of human dignity to allow this terrorism and torture of families to go on without saying something, speaking out, and trying to make a change.

We are looking for people to demonstrate with us in front of the US Supreme Court and the White House. We need at least 100 people to commit to this for a few days, preferably a whole week.
Estimate timeline is either June or July with daily demonstrations for about a week.
If you are interested, please help find others: at your courthouse, local support groups, or of the internet. You can even call up dependency attorneys and ask them to pass the message to their clients.

I might go. I’m preparing for Ph.D. big test, but this is important. My children who were kidnapped have since grown, but have lasting problems. (e.g. previous 99 percentile student dropping out and failing every college course). Struggling to overcome family resentment and develop some responsibility.

Is anybody in the Houston, Texas area going, I would contribute to splitting the bill gas/food if we drive. I’m a engineer for a railroad so I may have discounted tickets for the event by using Amtrak, I’d have to check into that, Or, we could rent a r/v and drive up to Washington, that would take some expense out of lodging, and food since we could cook on the vehicle. Just a few suggestions, for I am willing to go.

yes i would attend i want to be more active for my daughters sake. I’ve been fighting for her return since 07 due to false accusations and a court appointed attorney pleading me guilty then dropping my case. now i have to go to court for trial the more ive spoken up the worse the hersay and lies against me get.This has tormented my precious daughter as well as many other family I want to stand up speak out !!! i will find a way i want to speak out please thanks.

Widener University.
I have a list on the attorney section about states with Law Clinics.
Call up Widener and talk to the woman ( and bug her for info)
Also go to the Family Court in DE and get the free papers and free advice from the court personnel.
TPR is serious and usually is FINAL.
You can also contact Childrens’ Rights in NYC.

You should also join the Message Boards here and try to connnect with someone in DE.
You need to register for MB.
Folks will help you—but you will have to do legwork.
Why isn’t your one child placed with FAMILY, for example is one pertinent question.
Obviously some of your family is FIT.
Federal Act ,signed by Bush, 10–2008 provides that CPS must endeavor to do this.
That’s one question to ask an atty.
Initial consults with attys are free or low cost ( under 75) You child is worth at least your time and a talk with an atty.
Suggestion: new grads cheaper. But get someone who has an interest in FAMILY LAW.
Remember lawyers are facing hard times, too.
If your child has been abused in FC, attys will take case, especially if state has insurance fund to compensate.. Trust me attys know this in these states. However, you must tell truth as you understand it, regarding this kid’s situation.

they can take any kid any time from anyone with any reason and never get punished for that.

I am from Iowa, and I want to go. My children were stolen from me because of one fight my boyfriend and I got into that in no way shape or form harmed my children, and even if some how it did child abuse and neglect is “suppose” to be defined as the intent to cause harm or injure your children so by definition alone my children should have never been stolen from me!!! I am praying that I can be there, if my husband gets this new job I know I will be there for sure.
I have been fighting for my three kids since October 3,2008, When CPS came to my door and said she needed to speak to me about my Ex-husband who had hit my child and left a bruise on him while at his home that week. When she came in she started doing a walk through, when she first arrived my husband and I was in the middle of cleaning, but since we where still cleaning when she got there she removed my three kids for neglect. The first time we go to court she asks to place my 15 year old daughter in CPS custody in a girls home in another county,my two boys ages 8 and 9 to be placed with their father, the same one who left the bruises, whom is being charged with essesive corpal punishment, who in 2003 was found guilty of assalt and battery on me. CPS also asks for supervised visits twice a month for one hour each time, But the only way I can have visits with my two boys ordered by CPS and the Judge is to let my abusive ex-husband be the one to supervise the visits.
CPS made me have a mental Evaluation done, take parenting classes and ordered me to take a non offenders support class, because my daughter was raped last summer. CPS says we can’t go back to court till they get the results of crazy test back. I took this test at the beginning of January 2009, cps says they still have not gotten the results. Now they say it may be October before we go back to court. Also cps has not once been back to my home. Another thing the judge told my ex he could not hit, spank, lay a hand on my boys again, well two weeks ago my boys told cps that their father is still hitting them, cps told me they where not going to do any thing about it, BECAUSE THE JUDGE DID NOT PUT IT IN WRITING, also my ex was to have his parenting classes taken by January 18,2009 and he has not done that either, but cps don’t care.
My court appointed attorny is a joke, her specialty is realestate, she doesn’t try to help at all.
If any one can tell me who I need to talk to please let me know. My kids cry wanting to come home to me.

my exinlaws kathy Sheehy and Dean and Phyllis Rote lied to the courts about me and to DHS attorney general and county attorney has knowledge that they lied Kathy Shhehy lives in DesMoines Phyllis and Dean Rote live in Perry the courts knows that my exinlaws has lied about me for years and harrassed me for years and yet they won’t do nothing about it. Iowa supreme court knows that my esinlaws has lied about me they know know that they paid the judge off. They wanted my children just for the money. and the family has brainwashed my children against me I know my son doesn’t want nothing to do with me but my daughter I don’t know how she feels about me.

My exinlaws had county attorney and attorney general and a Judge put a no contact order on me against my children and I haven’t committed a crime the Judge done it when they where minors now one is adult and they put another one on me whatever that family wants courts will jump for that family.

DHs showed my police records and my boyfriends police records but they didn’t show my exhusbands police records they tried to hid it I had it I wanted to show it to the court Constance Cohen the crooked Judge didn’t want to see it I had proof that my exhusband abused DHS said they found no proof that My ex husband abused me they said I imagen my abuse I had prood and evidence and picture but of course attorney general being crooked as they are wouldn’t show it to the court even the Judge didn’t want to see it.

I too was a victim, my entire family was destroyed over lies and false claims. They never could find me unfit or abusive, because I wasn’t. My children were lied to and I was refused visitation, even though I was supposed to have legal visitation. My oldest is the only one that remembered enough to know that he was lied to. He’s also the only one that I’ve been able to re-establish a relationship with, because the rest have been brainwashed against me. I can’t get back all those years that we lost, nor fix my family thanks to DCFS & Catholic Social Services.
My youngest was given up for adoption - the caseworker was supposed to pick me up for court, but failed to do so. She lied saying I wasn’t there and they terminated my rights wrongfully because somebody wanted to adopt him. I was standing outside waiting for her 20 minutes in advance and waited almost an hour after the time she was supposed to be there - she never came and lied about it.
I later ended up having several nervous breakdowns and suffered very severe depression for quite some time over all the very nasty & wrongful custody fights. The Psychiatrists even said it was situational and if they’d just leave me and my kids alone I’d be just fine. They didn’t care and continued to keep my kids from me and destroy our family.
It’s already too late for me and my children, but I would love to go to this to try to help others. I don’t have transportation, so could only go if I can ride with somebody. I live in Illinois, across the Mississippi river from Muscatine, IA if anybody will let me ride with them please call me at 309-587-3223.

Ralyn Schraceo, I hope you are reading this, because I have a terrible cold and I don’t have much of a voice. I received your message on my answering machine, and we are in the process of finding ways to fund our trip. We are all broke, and lack transportation. My thought is to spend a couple weeks doing a fundraiser, like selling cookies. I am going to do some number crunching to see what transportation costs, hotel costs, and food costs are. Dear Friends in Iowa,
I have found that we can book a sale for fundraising for the 15th of June to the 3rd of July. We have to book it before June 9th. I have priced renting transportation at $350 for a week, Gas I calculate at about $100 one way. Not to mention in town travel for the events and food. There are over 150 hotels in the area prices range from $80 on up. We may want to have a goal of $130. The average person eats 5 times a day. 3 meals and two snacks. The average cost of a Fast Food meal is about $4.00 so we will say $6.00. So, about $30 a day per person. Depending on how many are going and how many vehicles we have to rent by my calculations with renting one vehicle and for gas as a group we need to raise $650. Individuals need to raise $500. This is for hotel and food for 3 days/nights. Is there anything I have left out? Any other ideas are welcomed!!! Please email me with your name and number, and how many in your party want to go. I am going through a lot of issues with this and I need to find a way to voice on how ridiculous this is and how the cps workers have way too much power and authority when they shouldn’t. This is supposed to be a free country, yet with cps you are guilty until proven innocent and they don’t even do any kind of thorough investigations. They look for a reason and they build a mountain out of an ant hill just so they can keep their job… They say they are trying to keep families united, but yet they rip children out of their homes without ayt thought at all and justice needs to be sought…

I would be interested as well. CPS is abusing their power. They have taken my precious children away from me by taking the word of a 4year old. It is so ridiculous how they can get away with this. My kids bruise easily and play rough. Do I need to put them in a bubble? I am doing everything they ask (ex. classes, sending the kids to a psycologist and taking counseling.

Fern - thank you for that link. I only wish they were around back when I needed help. I’d paid my life savings of $3,000 to a crooked attorney that bailed before it even got started, then tried to tell me I owed him another $1000, when he hadn’t done a single thing other than back out of the case. I’d even provided with copies of all manuscripts but he claimed he had to go get them. This all happened in Peoria, IL area.
I did e-mail them to let them know that victims are trying to organize this rally and asked them for their support and to please spread the word with a link to this site.
Since I now live on the border of Iowa, I’m joining forces with the Iowa group to help others. My son, now 23, also wants to go - he currently lives near Peoria. He lived with us for a while, after he turned 18, but decided he wanted to be on his own and missed all his friends. But, he is right behind me in supporting us - for the total destruction of our own family.

I find it interesting how the kids now think they have all the rights. Although they live in your nice home and have everything some of them will use it against you. They know all about CPS and if you try and discipline them in any way they ‘cry wolf’ and call CPS on you stating you abused them. Then CPS only takes there word for it when in actuality some of the kids sorry to say ‘bruise’ themselves up. CPS mind your own business you are not above the law.

I just read your stories and they sound very much like mine in 1990. My heart goes out to all of you that are going through this now.
My ex husband accused me of not only child abuse but sexually molesting my youngest two children during a custody battle. In no way was it true but because of the roadblocks that social services put in front of me I plead guilty to a crime that I did not commit in exchange for them dropping the charges on my husband (I had remarried) at the time who had also been falsely accused. I had never been accused of any type of crime before nor have I since. My ex husband was a convicted felon who abused me for 10 years and admitted to me while we were married that he had even taken part in killing someone but no one would listen. My husband and I were both police officers at the time. My career was ruined, I was forced into bankruptcy, my husband and I eventually divorced and I have not seen my children since. The sad part is that two of my children have tried to contact me recently and I am scared to death to respond. I can not live that nightmare again.
Now it seems like it all happened in another life. I have gotten through the hurt and the anger but I will always have the scars. I started my own business several years ago and am now attending college to earn my bachelors degree. I have two chocolate labs that have now become my children.
I located this web site while doing a search for an attorney that may be able to help me have my civil rights restored so that I can move forward with my life. If anyone knows of one I would greatly appreciate the help. In the mean time I would like to participate in this rally if it has not already taken place as well as anything else that comes up that may help to stop these injustices. If I could only accomplish one more thing in my life it would be to keep someone else from living the nightmare that I had to.
