Child Protective Services, CPS, has devastated and destroyed hundreds of thousands of families in America during the last thirty years leaving a trail of broken hearts, broken dreams, and shattered childhoods.
Rather than helping families, government agents have used unconstitutional laws in Juvenile Court to rip children away from their loving parents, break asunder God-given, natural, parent-child bonds, and adopt the children of the grieving out to others who profit financially with large monthly adoption subsidy payments.
Child Protective Services must be stopped! The law that started this, CAPTA, must be repealed. We must work tirelessly to inform the public of this very dangerous travesty of justice. We must keep faith knowing that if there is a God, there is an answer and a way to end this heartache.
Child Protective Services Agents - please come to your senses! Family destruction on false or trivial grounds is wrong, reprehensible, and inhumane.
Fosterers - be aware that for the money you get you are holding much-loved children away from their grieving families while the parents are forced to perform a service plan that is anything but a service to them. I call this hostage holding for the government. This is not kindness - to help misguided government agents destroy family relationships and break loving bonds.
CPS workers and fosterers - I ask that you now let the children of the innocent return to their homes where they are truly valued, adored, and loved by the parents God gave them.
Family rights are God-given rights. And they should not be ignored or postponed. Every moment these loving parents and children spend separated from one another is a torment beyond what anyone should ever have to bear.
It is unworthy of human dignity to allow this terrorism and torture of families to go on without saying something, speaking out, and trying to make a change.

Upstate NY (Hudson Valley) - I have been falsely accused of abuse and neglect of my two teenage boys, ages 17 and 15. The judge adjourned the case for dismissal after a year of services. However, CPS has a ‘finding’ in the NY State Maltreatment Register. I have requested a hearing on this matter, but have found it will be heard by an administrative judge/DSS appointee. The court appointed lawyer, nor the low-cost legal services in the area will help me in this area. Please, anyone, suggestions? HELP! The hearing is early January. (845)688-7320.

Are you children truant from school?
My dear, teenagers have become much more rebellious since DHS insinuated its nose into families.
However, attorneys do not work for free. To go to court can ( lowest bid) cost $250 in NJ.
Upstate NY might be less costly. One group which might help is your local group of Special Education parents. They frequently battle DHS.

My grandchild was taken I exposed the worker and her criminal record. Since then I have been falsely accused of trying to hurt the worker. I have been sent to jail and there is another warrant. This time they made it a NO BOND warrant that way they can make sure I don’t get out. Now they are going for 10 years in prison all because I exposed their corruption. I really need help before they make me and my story disappear.

I am not an attorney but I have studied the process in which to amend a State Central Register decision in NYS.
It sounds like you requested that the decision be amended and that was denied as DSS had “credible evidence” to indicate you.
Now, here is what will happen at the hearing. The judge will rule on the preponderance of evidence. That is, which side has the greater weight of evidence.
This is a hard go without an attorney.
You have to weigh what you have against what they have.
Doctors reports, school reports, etc would be helpful.
HEARSAY is allowed but that can work both ways.

was unlawfully arrested by the cops they stated I assulted my daughter when I actually called threm to be at my house for drop off of my 2 girls since their father got a FRO against me that morning. I have now had time for evidence that proves I did not assult my ex and that I did not assult my daughter. I need an attorney who wants to help me sue the Town and 2 police officers.. I live in Blairstown NJ My kids were placed in foster careand still r in foster care and I did nothing wrong - DYFS and the Judge are going on what the police and DYFS said. I need my kids back this is the most cruelest thing that has ever happened to me and my kids HELP

I am a grandmother of three children. My daughter; a CNA and EMT bit her oldest on the hand because he was biting younger siblings. DCFS in walworth county took the children away, gave me placement, then the father gets out of prison, heroin, alocohol user, gets placement of the children, he has a past chips case in illinois when he dropped the oldest when he was a baby and had a bleed, father now at mothers house in Illinois where every member of family have been arressted for battery, drugs, ect. Walworth county. DCFS is keeping my daughter from her children, they dont even do home visits, we went to court and the department is covering up, continued til December 11.
please help.

Grandmother of the three children, to add onto my last comment, the father was arressted a few months ago in Lake Geneva for DUI, In september the Lake Geneva Police department made a neglect report to the department, they took pictures of the apartment that he was living in, glass on floor, vomit on floor, nebulizer next to baby crib with ashtray on the other side when the baby has asthma, department is ignoring this. In 2006 my oldes grandchild was harmed for the second time in the hands of this man when he was again on heroin and the child ingested an antibiotic and was in ICU for three days. We have a good case and need a lawyer to help us, Our lawyer didnt even call the police officer when we were in court

There is a DYFS blog. Woman in Central Jersey runs it.
She has Court Case references to litigating v. DCF.
If low income, contact Legal Services b4 hubby does.

I have been a drug addict for 20 years,had all my children removed,2 put up for adoption,one went guardian with grandma.I have been sober for 5 years now.always had contact with my 10 tear old who was guardianshiped.I have went back to school,graduated.volunteer at recovery homes in my area.completed school and now im a registerd d&a councelor.Married,live in a nice home.Run a small computer buisness.My 10 tear old wants to come home,guardian agrees.I filed a 388 2 weeks ago.They set me a court date to appoint councel.Ive had there councel before and that cost me 2 children,Who by the way are still in my life.Im afraid to put this in there councels hands.any input here?

I am in need of assistance desperately. I have previous cases with CPS, including a case involving my oldest two daughters which my paternal rights were severed due to false accusations of neglect, where they claim I allowed my daughters to be either sexually assaulted &/or molested, which is completely untrue. My youngest two daughters were recently removed from my custody. CPS took them claiming that my home was filthy and that there was no food at the home, even though I advised them that where we were was not our home & the children were eating grapes the entire time the investigators were there. My three yr. old has brain cancer & is currently undergoing chemotherapy, she is regularly scheduled for MRI’s to see what the tumor is doing in case the therapy needs to be changed, this is due to the tumor being extremly aggressive. CPS failed to get her to her scheduled MRI, resulting in it being rescheduled, then had to reschedule that one as well. I am not even allowed to be at therapy with my daughter, which is traumatic to both of us due to I have been there with her for all her therapy, surgeries, radiation, & procedures since she was diagnosed at the age of 5months old. I do believe that the first hearing is not a hearing at all. Rather, it is just a meeting to set a date for the true hearing and to place a notice of appearance (the state’s atty and yours or you as pro se ) and to state what witnesses each side will call.

In January of 2007 I had an emotional breakdown due to depression and the marriage problems/emotional abuse from my husband. CPS put a 2 year restraining order against me from my childre & husband and ordered me not to come home. If it wasn’t for family I would have been homeless. CPS closed the case in 11/07and granted custody and supervised visits for me until I culd go back to Family Law to change the court orders. I went back to Family Law on June 19 and Family Law order me to get a Psychological evaluation and Therapy and continued supervised visits with a court supervised montor. They took all custody rights legal and physical away from me until I could go back & prove compliance. They gave me 3-6 months to comply. I have been compliant since August 25, 2008 when I finally wsa able to receive Health Insurance with my employer. In the mean time my husband was arrested with Felony DUI and 3 counts of Felony Cruely for Diving Under the Influence with my 3 children in the car. CPS detained the children & put them in Foster Care and now are residing with my Aunt and Uncle. CPS has not considered to have my children placed with me. I feel that there is an injustice with having my rights taken from me as a parent.

high point nc, about a month ago the stepfather of my 3 children was arrested for sexually abusing them. cps came and took all 5 of my children away because they said they had doubts that i could protect them. the judge wont let me see or talk to the three children it has already been a month. i dont have to go to court untill dec 9. thats two months without seeing my children i didnt do anything wrong why are they punishing me my public pretender doesnt do anything. any advice what i should do? please contact carolineduncan2aol.com

my ex boyfriend decided to accuse my now husband of physically abusing my daughter 4 years old. he reported it to cps and filed a police report and also took her to the hospital where Nothing was validated. to make matters more interesting we live in different counties 100 miles apart! my daughter has resided with me her whole life and san diego had jurisdiction over her, now LA county has “taken” over jurisdiction. they are claiming i failed to protect my daughter, yet havent charged me or my husband with abuse. i cant see her, its been almost 2 months, and no one knows what is going on. Oh, and about the boys. Both are special needs boys, with IEP’s in place. My 17yr old suffered a traumatic brain injury Jan 04 which has affected his temperment and organizational abilities. The younger is a type 2 diabetic, who is emotional issues and oppositional disoder. And yes, the children these days are so different, but add the special needs and it REALLY becomes stressful at times. Both of them are big 200+ pounds each, and both of them have become physically violent with me, which caused me to reach out for services initially. After the services were in place, and after an incident were both of the boys became physically abusive to me, I called an agency for respite. This agency opened a CPS case, and basically turned against me, in order for a 2-week respite!

Riverside County is up to their illegal dirt again and has ripped a family apart. Has denied Title 22 Rights with Social Workers willfully lying in their reports to destroy the Family unit. Judges on the case knowingly allow U.S. Constitutional Rights to be denied without legal cause and have told the Children in the case to shut up talking to him in court. The Judge now refuses the Children to speak in their defense, refuses to allow them in the Court room and refuses to allow them tell the story of what Social Workers have done to them physically and emotionally. We need help in obtaining an Attorney. This Government company and Workers should be sued in a CLass Action Lawsuit to protect the Children and Families who live in Riverside County. Children have become a commodity to this County like GOLD is to the WORLD.

I really need a Lawyer to take a pro bono case, I am a deaf mother of 2 kids. My oldest was taken out of my home when she was two months old my mom claimed that I was homeless to the CPS. That was not even true I was living with my Husband and his mother at her house. She made other accusations. Three times the CPS Stoped the family reunification process with my oldest daughter. When my second daughter was born she lived with me for 7 months with me She never had a diaper rash, fever, all of her shots were up to date. They took her out of my home due to allegations that my apt that I moved to so i can show that i can support my kids with a place of our own. Took her out of my home this past Aug. Now i am up to the state 3 year limit rule to get my oldest daughter back and they are blaming me for a lot of missed meetings. Not my fault because most of those meetings were canceled due to NO interpreter showing up and I am in danger of losing my parental rights. My husbands lawyer is not helping either because she stated we can’t raise kids on ssi. We can if there is 22 million deaf people in the usa how many are on SSI and raising kids. If they can do it we can.

I need help, i’ve done everything dfcs asked me to do, I have passed the drug test and the hair folices. They still haven’t gotten any court orders, but i was so scared when they showed up and said they would take my kids if i didn’t let them go to my mom’s so i did and they just keep knocking me down no matter what i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in the Atlanta, Georgia area and need to speak with an attorney for advice about where to go with my case from here. I was forced to sign a “Voluntary Service Plan” in another state, placing my small child in the care of an alcoholic. I was allowed to see her within days of her kidnapping and was forced to flee from this relatives home after they attempted to assault me with my child in my arms. Members of my family received advice that they should get me & my child out of that state, which they did, and we are unsure where to go from here.

DSS has stated they have confirmed environmental neglect. This is a false allegation. No one has spoken to us or children. We moved here and our house was supposed to be moved to the new property. We were fraudulently cheated our of our house, and we are living in a smaller one with limited space and have belongings in shed and behind our house as we don’t have space until we can get a larger on house on the property.This case was filed during the actual move from larger house to smaller house. Neighbors have confirmed DSS taking pictures of our property and looking in our windows. How do we protect our children and ourselves as this will become permanent record and affect our jobs without legal help? Children need protected from false neglect charges also. I am filing an appeal to get my son back, (DHS only investiaged for only 2 hrs., but I have proof from forensic evidence that I DIDN’T do what THEY BELIEVE) I am also filing a modification of custody and parenting time. This letter is in response to the affidavit that attorney Maurice McNab signed stating that he saw no merit in the appeal my wife asked him to file for custody of our son, Michael. We asked him to file an appeal on the ruling of Judge Konduros in the matter of the custody of our son, Michael (the affidavit he filed later saying the appeal had no merit was done without our consent or knowledge and now we feel that Mr. McNab is working against us to undermine our efforts to bring our son home). We have been fighting DSS ever since the birth of my wife’s 3rd child, Shannon Michelle Owings on September 27, 2005 (when Shannon was born, Tonie asked me to name her and since at that time Tonie and I had already planned to get married and I intended to adopt Shannon, I went ahead and gave Shannon my last name even though I wasn’t her natural father. This was done with Tonie’s permission, and Shannon’s natural father, Joel Culpepper, had so far shown no interest in her at all, and had even threatened Tonie when she told him she might be pregnant.). DSS has been involved with Tonie for much longer than that and she has had both of her oldest children taken from her as well. The oldest, Emily, said when she was 5 that her uncle Raymond (Tonie’s brother-in-law) had molested her. We don’t know for a fact if he did or not, and Emily herself had never told anyone in Tonie’s family that he had molested her, but he pled guilty in court and claimed it was part of a plea bargain. Emily’s biological father, Walter Anthony Dotherow, told Tonie that his parents (the paternal grandparents) had coached Emily to say that she had been molested. The Dotherow’s claimed she had told them about the molestation, then waited nearly 2 weeks to take her to the hospital to be examined. Of course by that time, no evidence could be found to prove or disprove their claim. The court awarded custody to the grandparents anyway. Emily now lives with her paternal grandparents. Tonie had never committed any crime against a child. The next oldest, Jean Diana, was born premature and placed in an incubator. After Tonie was discharged and the child was being cared for in the hospital neonatal intensive care unit, Tonie told the nurses she needed to go home to check on her father who was sick at the time and she would return. While she was gone, DSS took the baby claiming Tonie had abandoned her. Tonie still had not committed any crime against a child. Citing these and the fact Tonie had used paint thinner in the past as Tonie’s ‘past history’ and using this as their grounds, DSS took Shannon too. (Tonie quit using paint thinner when she moved in with me on April 1, 2005 and she has been clean and clear for over 3 1/2 years now. Tonie has stated that she is willing to undergo a spinal tap to prove this since there is no other drug test that can show whether she is still using or not.) Shannon never even got to come home. At the time she was born we were in the process of packing to move back to Greenville county from Pickens county, our previous landlady had decided to have us evicted since our last rent due was 15 days late. DSS claimed that we were being evicted and had no place to live when we had in fact told them that we had located 3 new places, just hadn’t made the final decision on which one we wanted. We signed the lease on Oct 1 and we moved in to our new place on October 3, 2005 and we have maintained this residence ever since. DSS has been consistently singling out Tonie and targeting her children for removal. They are also citing the fact that I have a criminal background from 1985 and DUI’s from about 5 or 6 years ago, even though nothing in my history involves any crimes against children. DSS claims that I “have 1 prior indicated case of neglect against me in 2005” even though I had no child of my own at the time. When I asked them just how do they figure that I’m guilty of neglect, their answer was simply because I’m with Tonie. We went to court with DSS and we were given a Treatment plan and we were told that DSS would ask for TPR (termination of parental rights) regardless of whether we complied with DSS’s requirements or not. They would not even discuss a reunification plan, much less put one in place so we could work to earn the right to bring her home, even though this action is in violation of federal mandates. We successfully completed the treatment plan outlined by DSS with the one exception of the psychiatrist DSS had us go see in Spartanburg. We saw him but he was the only one to give us a negative report, all the rest of the agencies, classes and programs we went to all gave us favorable reports. We have been to several Foster Care Review Boards with no change in their plans. Now they have our son Michael, (DSS claims Michael has disabilities and is a “special needs child” even though the hospital pediatrician Dr. Hartley gave Michael a clean bill of health at discharge before we brought him home) my first born child and my wife’s fourth. No crimes against children have been committed by either of us, and DSS claimed “substantial risk of neglect” as their grounds to come and take Michael even though we have a stable, clean home, food and lots of baby clothes and other supplies for him, a beautiful Belini crib supplied by my mother, a newly remodeled nursery and he had only been home from the hospital for 24 hours. In court DSS claimed our home was dirty, but when asked in court to be specific about what was dirty, they admitted that everything in the home was clean except for dirty ashtrays. We have since quit smoking and there is no drinking either since I can’t drink alcohol unless I have a cigarette too, so no more drinking. DSS claims Tonie has a low IQ, is physically disabled, and doesn’t have the income to provide for a child. We feel this is in violation of her 4th Amendment rights, DSS is discriminating against her due to her disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibits this. Even though she is disabled she still cooks, cleans the home, washes dishes and laundry, bathes and feeds our dog and contrary to DSS claims my wife has no problem bathing herself, maintaining her hygiene, dressing herself and feeding herself. In fact she does all the same things any other wife does for her own home, and she does it all with no help or instruction from me, and I am certain she would have no problem caring for a child as well, especially since she raised her first child Emily to the age of five before she was taken from her. The child’s guardian ad litem Janice Jones, has made a statement that Tonie has an arrest on her record for simple possession of marijuana which is a lie, and she claimed that Tonie couldn’t even remember the date her father had died and stated his death was in 1977 when in fact Tonie was correct when she said the date was 4-17-2001. Ms Jones finally admitted in court that Tonie has sufficient intelligence and that she has the ability to learn, even though DSS has been claiming that she has a learning disability. During all this time, over the last 3 years, DSS has been drug testing us both and we have never had a positive drug test, no positive drug tests from either child at birth either, although I did show positive twice for alcohol last year, in August and November. Two positive alcohol tests in three years and DSS claims I am an alcoholic. Well, we quit smoking and I have quit drinking as well. Tonie and I love Michael and Shannon and we will do anything we have to so we can be a family again, and we would never do anything to hurt either of them. Based on the facts of this case and all the false claims made, and the fact that my wife and I have never harmed or abused or neglected any child, we feel this appeal has plenty of merit, and we pray that the court will grant us justice and relief from the injustices and harassment by DSS that we have been forced to tolerate We only want to be a family and have the same joy and experiences that any other family gets to enjoy. Of course this isn’t everything that has happened over the last three years, if I tried to recall every thing that has happened I would have to write a book. Okay,so heres the thing, I am in some serios need of help from cps. I am in the middle of a divorce, and my soon to be exs. family and him keep calling them on me. First this, then this, its been an on going thing forever now. Anyhow, I have 6 children. Ages,10,8,5,4,4,14months. So cps comes in yesterday and removed the three youngest children from my home. On “a statement made to them”, basicly they have again no reason to come into my home. I had the cps worker crying because I refused to sign her papers stating that thier father would have custody of them. I eventually did sign under my standers, and put ” under duress” after my name. Anyhow, I have now got a P.I. following my ex. because he spends his at the bar. Anyhow I live in West Virginia. So I am now trying to find a laywer to help me with my case. are in foster care because of an infection my oldest son had on his finger. a CHIPS order was put in place and human service was order to reunite them with us after we complete the courts orders (we are currently working towards that goal) however, human services was also ordered to looking into sending our two boys with close relatives (my mom and sister). human services claim they are looking into the matter but that they want the boy in counseling first (this was done a month and a half ago) they are now saying that my oldest boy is a danger to himself or others and is being sent to a treatment facility for an assessment and any treatment he might need. this leaves our 4 yr old alone in a strange house.
When we asked them why they are still stalling to put the 4 yr old in to a family member’s home they said they wanna see if the 4 yr old will collapse emotionally while his older brother is away. They then said if he does fall apart they wanna have him evaluated and possibly sent to a treatment foster home.
human services is coming up with excuse after excuse not to place these boys where they should be, with family as per the court order.
first they wanted to make sure that family members can provide child care for work hours.. done
then they wanted the boys in counseling for a while.. done
background checks..done
everything is in order and they are refusing to follow what they are supposed to do.
what action in court can i take to force them to act?
i cant afford a lawyer and feel human services is using this fact as a way to emotionally harm my two children.
the children have been in 3 different foster homes because of faulty foster parents. 1 foster care provider “allegedly” used a belt as punishment, and another was rumored to have gotten arrested at the home
can someone help? need advice and/or a lawyer that will help take our case bro bono (we have no money for a lawyer)

My son is 5 months old. My boyfriend called me 45 minutes before I came home from work last week and told me that the baby had fallen off the couch and he tried to break the fall with his leg before he hit the floor (which he did) but he wasn’t sure if he had hit his head or not. The baby started throwing up immediately after he fell. So when I got home from work, he was continuing to throw up pretty bad. He was also very lethargic and just wasn’t being himself. He wasn’t unresponsive but I could tell something was really wrong. I took him to the emergency room after calling the doctor. They did a CT scan and determined that there was some hemmoraging in his brain, but wouldn’t know the extent until they did an MRI. Because doctors concluded that a fall off the couch couldn’t have caused such serious injuries, they assumed that the baby had experienced non-accidental trauma to his head ie: Shaken Baby Syndrome. They called in a social worker who contacted the police and Waukesha county social workers who made me sign my parental rights over to them. They kept him in county custody the hospital until Monday (yesterday). Neither I nor his father could at anytime be alone with our son without supervision. During that time, the MRI revealed that he has an acute subdural hematoma on the left, front side of his brain. Most of this is old blood (which doctors say whatever has happened to him has happened before) and new, recent blood as well. The blood mixed in with spinal fluid on the left side pushes his brain to the right, which is what makes him sick. He also had retinal bleeding behind his eyes, which they say is concurrent to being intentionally injured as well. He had X-rays, which showed no broken bones or fractures, had no bruises or any other signs of abuse, but once again, doctors say a head injury need not have any other signs of abuse for it to BE abuse. Luckily, the brain was not permanantly damaged and he wil have no long-term injuries as a result of whatever happened to him. The right side of the brain is completely fine and with time, the bleeding will heal as his brain continues to grow.
Obviously all fingers are pointing at the mother and father. Never the babysitter, my cousin, who might just be the prime candidate because she spends far more time with our son than we do. We’ve been interviewed by detectives I’ve given my statement, been fingerprinted and had mugshots taken. I was told by the detective would recommend my boyfriend and I be prosecuted for child neglect. More so the father than me, I believe. Based on what the caseworkers have been hinting to other people, I think they’re trying to put the blame on Dad. Before the baby was released from the hospital yesterday we had to attend a placement hearing in Waukesha for his custody. They determined that he would not be safe at home with me, so my Mom will have him for the next two weeks at least, until the next court date. All of my visits to my child HAVE to be supervised.
I’m preparing for the worst here… A child abuse attorney advised me not to speak to anyone, which I felt if I didn’t cooperate with the detectives and give another statement, they’d turn it against me, as if I had something to hide. This same child abuse attorney wanted a $20,000 retainer as well, which my boyfriend I could NEVER be able to afford.
I’m so alone, so lost. Please…. I’m so heartbroken, so in shock. His father and I cannot stop crying, we have no idea what is going to happen to our family, that we have worked so hard for. Someone tell me what to do!

For anyone going through accusations of SBS, I’m here for you.
I was falsely accused on 2005 while serving in the US Air Force.
I got my daughter back and I beat the authorities. I never had to go to court, but knowing th truth about SBS and how “they” work makes all the difference in the world!
I have studied SBS nonstop since. I have called and spoken with many experts, doctors, pathologists, and biomechanical engineers. I’m going to a seminar for this in Feb. 09.
The SBS diagnosis is bunk. If you are in the middle of fighting these allogations having someone available who has been through it also will help. I’m not interested in money, only justice,

I am trying to prevent CPS from sending my grandchild back to his birth place, PDX with his mother. Max has been with me since June 08, while mother and father supposedly take parenting classes, stay off drugs, etc. Here’s the issue, mom has been working, dad is in treatment CPS has approves a free pass back to Portland for mother and child while father resides here in TX. Parents are not married, all parties are residents of Fort Worth and I say they can’t just remove the boy (2) from his father and not provide them with visitation. I believe CPS has done little for my grand child except to place him in my care, they state I do not have custody of him and basically can do whatever they like. I’d like to stop them before father and son loose contact. Where can I go for help ? legal aid refused , can I ask for a hearing before a judge? can I refuse to hand over my grandson? any info appreciated thank you R B

I was reported to CPS in Aug. by the father of 2 of my kids due to an argument we had. They closed that case as unsubstansiated. I had a baby on Oct 8. Upon leaving the hospital CPS came into my room with 2 cops, took my baby, then went to my house and took my 5 other children, saying I had a history with CPS. The 48 hour hold was 5 days. Then they came back 2 weeks later with 2 more officers and took all 6 kids again. They said they had a report of abuse, but when they called the paramedics, they didnt find anything wrong. CPS then said I was on drugs, yet refused to give me a drug test, which they also refused to do in the hospital. They refused to place my kids with family members both times. They are currently in separate foster homes. They placed my 8 year old daughter in a psychiatric hospital for 8 days, didnt notify me, then refused to let me see her. The doctor said she was there for unknown reasons because CPS never sent them paperwork. They took them out of their school yesterday and enrolled them elsewhere. I have complied with everything they have requested, and have doumentation. CPS has scheduled TCP meetings, didnt notify me, then stated in court I didn’t show up. They tried to give my 2 girls to their father, the one that reported me without even investigating him. He was in jail. They are suposed to give me @ visits 2 times a week. The last 2 visits I got 25 minutes.I go to court again jan.15. Nothing they have done has been legal. I can prove most of it, but I need a lawyer to help me. I have kept very good records.

I live in South Carolina and this Friday afternoon I recieved a knock on my door and to my shock and dismay it was CPS. I was told a complaint had been made that I was suffering from postpartum depression. I have been diagnosed with a bi-polar disorder but I have always remained on my medications. I have recently moved to South Carolina in June while I was still pregnant and I had my baby on October 2 I was seeing a new physchatrist and only saw her for 2 sessions and she wanted to switch my medications that I had been on for years. I need to know if South Carolina has any laws regarding patient-doctor confidentiality. I have done nothing wrong and I have been falsely accused so what do I need to do to protect myself during this process. Can anyone advise me on what to do? Please help I am so scared.

i need help !!!1My children were removed from my care 2 1/2 years ago. They were then tosse daround to different family memebers who really couldnt care for them. They then were sent back to foster care . During the turmoil my husband and i were given a temporary time to live with our kids then cps came and took them. my husband then was thrown in jail for an un related matter and we have been tossed around like abag of rags. my children are residing with a child molester. the judge was notified and he disregarded it. please someone help me. my children could be in grave danger

I don’t even know where to start. I am looking for a CPS Defense attorney in Northwest Indiana. CPS removed my cousins kids from her home, because her oldest one (9 years old) ran away. she called the police to report him missing and they reurned with a CPS worker to remove all for of her children from her home. She was not given a reason other than the 9-year-old was fond some twenty blocks away and shouldn’t have been able to get that far. She was allowed by the the lady to call a family member so that the kids could be placed with family first. She called me. The caseworker got on the phone and said to me that I was too young (age 23) and couldn’t get them. I immediately asked if my mother could and she said if she calls me right now, i’ll give them to her. My mother called her and they lady then said that they had to do a background check on her and she could get the kids that folowing monday and they would just stay in foster care temperarily. Monday morning we called to get the results of the background check and the lady didn’t want to speak to us. Finally after a week of phone tag, she tells us that my mom has to get fingerprinted. My mom does that and the lady calls back and says that my mom has convictions on her background and was disqualified. My mom went to the courts to pick up a copy of her background, since we were all trying to see what her criminal act was and why she had never been arrested for it. There was nothing. My cousin went to court yesterday (two months after they took the kids) and the judge stated that there was no reason for CPS to have even taken the kids in the first place and asked why didn’t family have them and they told the judge that we lost interest after the background check although we still have the voicemail message of the caseworker saying that my mom was disqualified and the paper from the court date stating that there was no reason for the removal and my moms background was clean. CPS just stole my two daughters out of school today because I refused to “cooperate” as I wouldn’t give them my phone number, talk to them or agree to have my daughters requestioned by him and he consideres it an emergency situation. He had already questioned my daughters at school, behind my back on Nov 18, 2008 and came to my house to force me to sign a paper that I would not allow my ex or son to be alone with them, or he was going to take them away that day. The doctor from the other day called Child Protection Services on me. Said I was “seriously endangering the life of my child ” (meaning Jude) because of her messed up scale and a very minor diaper rash. And I know that it, the scale, was messed up because we took him to my mom’s doctor of choice today and she said “Yes, he may have some health and/or developmental problems- he still has a lingering of a few newborn reflexes that should be gone by now..” I asked her “Is anything that I have done or didn’t do what caused any of them?” and she told me “Absolutely not!” I said “Is his life in immediant danger?” She said, “No, of course not!!!”
Jude is 2 weeks away from being 6 months old, and weighs 11.4 pounds, which is exactly what he should weigh at this age, based on his birth weight of only 6 pounds, according to every legitimate doctor, health care professional, social worker (outside of CPS), and baby/parenting book I have talked to and/or read…And believe me, I have been- I’ve been on the phone and traveling to health and social services ever since she showed up yesterday!
The woman from CPS said that if he weighed any under 15 pounds, it was serious neglect and grounds for immediate removal from our home, and if I didn’t get a second opinion that said that she was wrong this week- before the holiday, she would come and take him… I’ve been so worried sick.
She said that he had to go to the health department today to be seen, but I told her I would take him to a DOCTOR, and when I called her to tell her that I did, she was acting all affronted and said “I was very upset and came by your house several times today because you didnt take him to the health department.” I told her “No, I wanted a doctor who I trusted, and who knew what she was talking about to look at him, and the doctor said that there was not a thing in the world that I’ve done wrong by that baby, and if you still think so- you can call her and she’ll tell you herself.”
I’ve also been in contact with his old doctor (this quack was a new doctor at a different practice) and they have told me several times that she (the new dr) was WRONG and they would vouch for both the size of my other children- that Jude is doing exactly what they expect him to do, knowing my children, their growth rates and sizes,etc and the fact that I’m a good mom who takes darn good care of her children, medically and otherwise- definitely that i don’t starve them or ignore them!!!! But I can’t get him in there until sometime next week, so I went ahead to this other doctor- who has never seen me before, never seen Jude or any of the other children and still says that she can tell I am not neglecting him, or his health issues for that matter!
Hello! Why did I take him to that quack doctor anyway?!?!?! To make sure he was getting adequate medical care! Why did I refuse to take him back to the quack doctor?!?!?!?!? To make sure he was getting adequate medical care!!!!!!! And this is what I get.
The CPS worker wants me to come to DHS tomorrow and sign a “non-custodial permenancy plan.” I agreed on teh phone becasue I have never heard of it, and didn’t know what I was talking about. I got home and went to looking online and there is NO WAY I am signing that thing. Absoluely not. According to the Family Code (which I downloaded a copy), if they dont give me proof that I am neglecting my child, they CANNOT procede with ANY type of investigation or intervening, nor can they punish me for not signing it.
According to the same law they are trying to take my baby away with!
I am calling an attorney first thing in the morning, and I don’t think I am going to even go to that meeting without one there. I may change my mind, and go, so I dont have as big of a fight with this all; but there is no way I am signing ANYTHING. They have no right to come into my house and tell me I am mistreating my children, when they have no proof and I have not mistreated them! Even all the doctors, etc I have talked to have agreed- several without even knowing us.
I know that CPS provides something that is needed in some cases. However, this is NOT one of those cases. I am just scared and worried and upset that a doctor, who didnt spend even 5 minutes in the room with Jude and wouldn’t even answer my questions about what he needed or what was wrong would have the audacity to call CPS and tell them that I was neglecting him, and NOT even try to fix the problem; even though I’ve proven that the problem she saw wasn’t even a problem!
Dr. Gwen, the doctor I took him to today, even ordered blood tests to be sure that his devolpental problems, not a weight problem, wasn’t caused by an unknown condition like something with his sugar, or thyroids, or anything like that. She also wrote him a prescription I can get on WIC for a lactose and soy- free formula for his suppliments instead of what he’s on. And you know what? I am taking him to the WIC office in the morning to get it filled— because I am a GOOD MOM, and that’s what GOOD MOM’s do- anything that their babies need to be healthy and happy.
I’ve never met anyone who has ever, EVER, thought that Jude was mistreated. He is the happiest, most content, most loved child anyone around here has met. He never cries because he never has to. When he so much as acts uncontent, we are right there to figure out why. When he wakes up from a nap or in the morning, we are right there as soon as we here him stirring (he sleeps either in the bed with us or in a cradle right beside us). If he wants a toy he cant get to, or his blankey, or his pacifer he gets it, and if we dont get it as quickly as he likes, his brothers and sisters do.
They dote on him- he is all of their “babyJudeConner”. They all rock him in his swing or bouncer, they sing to him constantly. We sing to him, and play with him, and change him, and cuddle him and feed him and rock him to sleep if he can’t fall asleep on his own.
I am not a bad mom! We are not bad parents!! And we don’t deserve to be going through this!!!

I reside in Ohio and have sole physical custody of my son. My ex. spouse resides in Michigan, and has another child, a girl, with another woman. He and the woman are no longer together and are battling over custody. To gain an advantage, the ex. girlfriend falsely accused my son of inappropriately touching his little sister. The girl is 3-years old, and my son is only 14-years old. They (son and little sister) have always had a good relationship, and these allegations did not get filed until the custody battle began. I am VERY worried that this is going to ruin my son’s life and am in desperate need of legal advice, and someone to represent my son’s interest in this case. He has NEVER been in trouble, good grades, athletic, popular, well mannered, and a respectable young man. The ex. girl friend has a documented history of mental illness and violent behavior. She has issues with her other kids, and lost her job, residence, and her son due to mental illness/instability. She attempted suicide with all of her children present, and has been in and out of treatment/hospitals. She is on psycho. drugs. Please call if you can help: 810-908-3373

Now they want more from me. I was in a financial struggle when this began, and now years later I am absolutely stable, DHS was never involved, except for appointment of the minor child attny. My son lived with me during the guardianship and all the past sum mers grandma just wants him just because, although she swore she would never take him from me permanently. I am disgusted. Now they want me to have a slow transition into my home so they can bide time on grandmas side. This was not part of the agreement. I was never found unfit and never investigated. im the woman whos fighting a C.A.S.A.(court appointed special advocate) worker who droped off my case and filed for custody of my child and won yea……….. well tables have turned and people are figuring out the truth. ive been fighting for 4 years now..and with a new judge and LOTS OF prayer now i have at home visitation with the GAL there (( but thats a good thing ))) 1x per week up until december..then custody gets transferd im soo happy . my 6 year old daughter had been through so much and of course we gonna have to continue therapy….. but DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE EVERYONE my case all started with false allagations too…. even my proof at the time did not help. i can promise that when this is all over with yall will here my whole story on the news and in papers there has only been 1 OTHER known case in the U.S and IN the other c.a.s.a. worker case the mother relinguised custody to the casa woman ………I HOPE MY CASE WILL INSPIRE THE HOPELESS AND FRIGHTEN CPS,C.A.S.A.,DSS AND COURT SYSTEMS BECAUSE I WILL MAKE SURE THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ANYONE THIS WAS SO WRONG IN EVERY WAY……….TO MAKE IT CLEAR………THESE PEOPLE IF THEY WANTED YOUR KID FOR THEMSELVES ( LIKE IN MY CASE ) ITS LIKE PICKING OUT CANDY OUT A CANDY SHOP……..HUMMMMM I LIKE THIS KID I THINK ILL KEEP IT <—–THAT EASY FOLKS!!!! i will pray for ALL of you that yall will continue to have strength

Please pray for me and my kids. They were taken away temporarily 7 months ago and we have done everything on the case plan and still only get a supervised visit every 2 weeks. The kids are sad and so are we. We need an attourney to fight for us. I can’t deal with the holidays while they are gone. They were taken for no reason just based on hear say and false accusations. They even admitted it wasn’t about abuse or neglect and not about the kids. Apparently it was about me and my husband’s relationship which has always been fine and is now. Why are the kids still gone? They are 1, 3, and 4 yrs. old. Please help!

I live here in stark county ohio. I would like to start a group here in canton ohio. I would like to tell my story. my kids are still in a foster home. im still tryin to get me a lawyer. I do have the cps handbook. families here in start county we all need to let everyone know about cps. cps im letting you know im not giving up on fighting for my kids. julie when you have time please e-mail me. we need to get own kids home. cps is taken way too many & the foster parents is getting paid on own kids. it is time we put a stop to cps. cps took my kids on emergency removal when nothing was wrong with my kids. 2 police officer was there & they did not make no police report. My grandson was taken from his mother on November 28th, 2008. Two mps (Ft. Lewis WA) and a detective (Tacoma, WA)qshowed up at my daughters door on Nov. 26th stating they had a call two weeks prior telling them that an environmental hazard was noticed in her home. She had 3 dogs and was bathing them at the time so she declined to let them in the door. (GERMAN SHEPHERDS) They were compliant and understanding and stated that someone would call within 24 to 72 hours to make an appointment for a caseworker visit. Paniced she began to clean and call people for support. She left home on Thanksgiving Day to have Dinner with friends since she is all alone and her husband is in Iraq. On Friday the 28th CPS and mps came and searched her home, removed her child and stated that she could face 8 years in prison and that she no longer has parental rights to see or talk to her child. They had no court order or Search warrant . IS this LEGAL? They searched thru drawers and refrigerator and said bottles were unsanitary. They took pictures and said dogs must go. She was written up for child endangerment and child neglect on a paper called a District Court Violation Notice. They removed her baby gate at the stairs, took pictures and said there wasn’t one there. A neighbor had helped her install the gate the day before. My grandson is an infant and he is not walking and only scooting at 8 months. IS THIS ALL LEGAL? She needs a lawyer and cannot afford one. She has never had a drivers license because she fears driving. She is a new mom and all alone. I am in Illinois and have financial difficulties as well. Please someone help us!!!!

Please if anyone has any answers or could help. I’m going crazy here and no fully well how hard it is to keep things clean with dogs and children. Military housing should have dishwashers installed and I know that my daughter has always been a clean person but depression runs in our family and her husband is gone and she has no real support system in place. Friends always say they would have helped you when it is too late but when it comes down to it you are on your own most of the time. Isolation also plays into depression and marital issues along with stress take its toll . I know that stress keeps me from thinking clearly and keeps you confused and unable to function as you normally would. I know all of this first hand by experience. My daughter is only 20 years old.

Ft Myers, Fl.- I am a disabled (declared by state) grandmother that wants placement of grandchild with me! I was a primary caregiver and actually initiated the investigation.I was denied placement by DCF investigator (has since been fired for lying on another case) due to my disability! They would not even discuss it with me at all. I am denied public counsel because I am the grandparent. I also can not afford counsel, as I have zero income at this point (in appeals with federal social security). I am seeking employment now so I can afford counsel. DCF is pushing for adoption by a non blood relative in Kansas! The case is not up until 3/27/09!! Can someone please please help us?!

i live in sacramento ca. the cps took my kids from their mother whom i dont live with for no apperint reason they gave them back to me 4 days later but they wanted me to have a social worker come to my home she was rude and abusive to me my73yold mother and at one point she even hurt my 2yold daughter now they have taken the kids back into protective costody because i cant care for 3 babys work drug test wait for up to4hrs for a social worker to show up and try to spend time with my children i have had previous problems with cps but i did everything they asked of me 3times wk drug testing and other things totaling 30 hrs wk of my time ive been clean for 4yrs have had the same job for 4yrs and havent been in any trouble i can pay payments but i dont know what to do thank you

im haveing a real problem with social sevices and my court appointed attprney is not doing his job my 16 year old told social sevice she was affraide to come home cause i took the phone and internebt away from her they tok her out of the home she then calls her bio father ehos righst i terminated for child abuse in 1997 he files for gardaian ship and socail service is pressing the courts to let him have her without checking his cps background thsi man also called social sevices on me and is brainwashing my daughter whos not mentally stable she has odd adhd bipolor and a chmical mood imbalance they just court ordered that i go under pyciatric evaluation also tehy were court order 2 months ago to put my daughter with my mom and start councling between me and my daughter and have not done so they were the court ordered to have 7 days to do it tommoro 7 days and stil no counsling and they contnue to press the courts to let this man have my daughter who is now pregnant my attorny is not doing nothing for me but telling me not to speak in court teh socail worker thats in court has only spoken with me once with her spperviser her superviser is whos been dealing with me not her and her excuse to teh court was she was on vaction witch isnt true becase ive called her office theyve told me she was in but on the phone every time and i called for days they are also letting this man take my daughter to dr visits thus violating hippa laws i dont have alot of money for a reguar lawyer but could use one if you know of any that deal with this i need help
