My husband and I have had custody of our 14-year old great nephew for 12 years. I gave birth to 4 of my own and lost one when he was 2. We, I, love our son (great nephew) as one of our own. He is ours and always will be. We would adopt but his father's rights cannot be terminated due to the fact that he is incarcerated. It would cost us a fortune to try. I have 2 children of my own and have taken in countless of other children that have become mine. You think they are always better off with the natural parents? That nobody can love them even better then the natural parents? You are so sadly mistaken. I have been on the side of living in abusive foster homes and living in some really good foster homes and the way I look at it is. If my parents had of stepped up to the plate and been the good parents they should of been I would have never experienced both sides of this. So think that you can't love a child as your own and you will be missing out on alot OMG I am speechless. I do not believe either McCain or Obama will be able to do anything to help us. The only way would be to get a third party candidate, preferably Libertarian, into office. My "REAL" mom let her bf beat the crap out of me and she was always too drunk and high to kno the difference. CPS begged her for 3 yrs to go to drug rehab. She went once and they paid for her to get an apt. and bought her furniture. Upped my visits with her and she actually slapped me and tried to get me to say that it was my foster mom that had done it. The best day of my life was my adoption day. My REAL mom has me NOW! I wldn't have it any other way. I let go of my old life- I'm better for it. My adoptive mom has never said one bad thing about my biomom, I remember more than enuff. BTW, I'm even doing great in school and planning on going to college. I probably would''ve ended up a strung out crack whore had I stayed with my "natural" parent. You people don't have a clue. My adoptive mom loves me at LEAST as much as her bio kids. My 2 big brothers and little sister. I just wanna forget my biomom, probably like ur kids wanna forget all u bitter hags. CPS seems to think that they are not accountable to anyone. Take the sect in TX, the woman asked the officer for a warrent, he said she did not need to see it? they did not have have a warrent! Justice for all means justice for all. No goverment agency has the right to abuse their authority. The people here are hurting, because a goverment angency was allowed to abuse that authority and stomp on their rights. They were allowed, without merit or reason, to come into their lives and take their very heart and soul, their children. There may be people that need the help DSS has to offer, but I don't know because I have only seen the harm they cause.
