My niece had her rights taken away. I would not say she was an Ideal candidate for a mom. But any way she had a son at a young age of 17 she tried to finish school on line and she had an apartment and a job at subway. She had a son that was having problems eating she took him to the Doctor three times and the doctor did nothing for the baby she took him to wic appointments aswell and they gave her advice and told her to take him to the doctor again so anyway doc did nothing and at two month the baby was not getting bigger and so she went to the ER and the doctors there called the DHS of fremont county Colorado. And they told her if the baby did not gain weight with out losing anymore they were going to take him away from her. Well he lost an ounce and they took him away two years almost goes by and she does that (TREATMENT PLAN) and they took her parental rights away. But in the two years the DHS foster parent can’t get him to eat and gain weight either. Mean while I have gone through all the steps to adopt my nephew I had the home inspection and the background checks and passed everything but they said that since I live in indiana that I could not have him because his health was not good to transfer out of state but yet right after the hearing the DHS transferred him to another foster home and then again back to the original foster home. In court that foster parent testified that if she had to she would bit the bullet and eat this one. That was the winning statement for the judge to give my nephew over to these people. He can’t be with family because they would bit the bullet. Since losing my nephew my niece has quit the online program and has quit her job and has been living on peoples couches and has just let her life go to hell. I don’t know what I can do to help get my nephew back. I would never give him to her because it’s against the law but maybe if I had him she would know he was okay any one out there that could help me. I don’t know what to do.

Melissa, I agree that you should see an attorney. It looks like the caseworker has no court order for drug screens and is fishing for “evidence” to use against you.

I feel that CPS has been harassing me. Last year about this same time me and my husband were split up. Out of anger, he falsely reported me for drug use. Once CPS contacted me, I let them in my home. I asked to take a drug test to prove my innocence, but they said too much time had passed between their initial phone call and the home visit. I was informed that I would have to go to the Social Service department for an assessment. I was misled into believing that this was necessary to clear my name. When the assessment was over they informed me that I would have to submit to random drug screens. I was mortified. I don not do drugs and I do not have anything to hide. I complied anyway. They never had a positive test on me. Now they are bothering me again!I let the same case worker into my home. She did a drug screen. Several days later she called to tell me it was dilute and therefore considered a positive but I DID NOT do anything to dilute it. Come to find out, I have had several dilute urine screens. I told them I would give them blood even a hair follicle test. They said they would not accept them. I think that the case worker was angered when she found no wrong doing because she rushed to judgement. She is grasping straws trying to find something.I have asked several times to see my file but I am repeatedly denied. I know that there are some people that intentionally dilute their urine, but I didn’t. Now they want me to go back for randoms again. I feel its not fair I haven’t done anything wrong and my kids are very well taken care of. The case worker went as far as saying that if I didn’t comply, she would put my name in the registry, and the major I’m currently working on, (Applied Behavioral Science) would be ruined. I work full time and I am a full time student. I don’t even have time to do drugs. I am going to talk to an attorney, but do I have a case? Would a judge issue a court order on a person that has had no positive drug screens in the past? Do I have the right to see my file or at least part of it?

My 7 year old daughter went to school and told her teacher I choked her, which I DID NOT DO! She goes to a VERY expensive private school. You think they would have given me the benefit of a doubt and, oh, a phone call…???? I was wondering why the teacher and I am guessing it was the ‘counselor’ were staring at me when I picked her up and as we walked to the car. Of course, we ended up with a call from CPS. I know where she is not going to school next year. Now the ‘fun’ begins…

I also wish that cps funds be cut and only those workers who want to help protect our children will stay on the job and weed out the corroupt cps workers so good homes don’t keep getting ripped apart! Stop cps from riping good homes and familys apart and forc them to focas on real probloms with doucmend pictures to prove adbuse negct not just ther words held as gold!

My son was taken when he was 5 months old cps came to my ex husbends house and they took him away.They acused me of not being able to prvide enough food and becuse of that I was negctfull.How can they mesure how much breast milk I produce I was breast feeding my son so how dose that make me unfit! Now the have prolonged my case made more acusations about me they forced me to be alone on my own I’m now trying to fight to get my son back and its really hard when they keep lying on and keept him from being returnd home he is now 2 1/2 years old.I love my son and contue to do evrey thing they ask but its still not enogh they are starting the tpr prosse how can I prove there lying and that I AM fit! Please can some one help me!

Denise, you could sue them . . . but you might have a hard time finding an attorney to help you do it. Whatever else you do, please don’t let your husband back without CPS permission because if you do they will probably find out about it and take your children. I’m so sorry your relationship was damaged in this way.

i just need to know can you sue cps for taking my husband out of my home for a false statement saying he or my son sexually touch our daughter with downs syndrome, because a teacher said something that wasnt true about my daughter telling her that her daddy touched her when the teacher didnt even know what she was saying was that she had told her dad that her stomach hurt and her private was hurting when dad didnt understand she said she told her brother so the teacher called the police and cps then while they made me go with an police officer to hospital and make her take a rape test which she throw a fit about them touching her while i was gone the cps come to my house and told my husband of two weeks that he had to stay somewhere else and made him sign a paper by telling him if he didnt do it they would take the other 5 kids out of our home and when i got home they told me they had to be at a place by a set time and if i let him talk to our kids they would come in and take all the kids out of my house and made me sign a paper saying i agreed that i would not tell the kids what was going on or else the cps worker told me

I can’t believe the length of detail from so many people on this site alone. I am involved in a serious case in Fairfax County, VA. They are well funded and very powerful. This is the best place to make a stand now. Fairfax is only 30 minutes from D.C. I also have a blog at

My children were taken from their mom because they said she didn’t have proper reaction to the alleged abuse. Shock and disbelief are proper reactions if you ask me. Evil and Corrupt moreso than most who stand accused.
