Policy On Copying Things Found On This Site
I’ve often found things I’ve written on this site posted on other websites and blogs. It bothers me when this is done without giving a link back or any mention of who the author is - and many would consider that plagiarism. As the author of these postings, I have a copyright on everything I write, and if I find my words reposted elsewhere, and it doesn’t say “Written by Linda Martin of Fight CPS“, I get upset.
Usually I wouldn’t be upset by that if the person copying things at least mentioned that I’m the author and gave a link to this site, but most people apparently don’t bother to do this, which is why I’m writing this now.
God knows I want this message to be spread far and wide. However there are some limits.
Limits on what can be copied:
Please do NOT under any circumstances copy/paste any of the comments left by people on this site. These comments are all copyright to the authors, and since you can’t email them for permission (I don’t post the email addresses) you cannot get their permission to move their personal information to another place. So don’t do it.
Please do NOT under any circumstances copy/paste anything found on the message board. The only exception is if you get the permission of the person who wrote what you want to copy. Generally this is possible because you can private-mail people on the message board. I will stay out of that issue, unless someone tells me things are being copied without permission. If this happens, the person copying postings will lose access to the forum permanently. No exceptions. This is a very important privacy issue.
Please do NOT copy anything from this site without my written permission. You can easily email me using the webmaster link at the foot of every page. (On the message board, the webmaster link is at the top.) Anything copied MUST have my name as author (if I’m the author, and I am author of almost everything here) and MUST have a link back to the page of this site where you found the information. If I indicate in a post that I’m not the author, you would need to contact the author to get permission to repost something elsewhere.
Printing: You are welcome to print one copy of anything I write, for your own use. If you want to print more than one copy, email me for permission. Use the webmaster email link at the bottom of this page.

It’s too bad you aren’t willing to allow people to spread the news about this websie. It contains valuable information, but only if that information is shared. I apologize for posting information about your website in public forums and will no longer do so.
It is easier to not post something than to go through the red-tape ‘limits’, such as emailing you each time I want to respond to someones craigslist post seeking help.
I think we should all work together to fight CPS, but I will respect your wishes to fight alone.

Forgive me for saying so, but nobody advocates witholding helpful information, or waging a one person war, nor do I think after all these years, that Linda has her ego in this.
There are valid reasons for her equest, and your opening salvo that it is “too bad you aren’t willing to allow people to spread the news about this website” contradicts the entire reason she built it.
Maintaining a forum that is reputable requires editorial judgement, and if you’d care to scroll down a bit, you’d see over half a million people have sought information or found help here.
It is more about quality control than censorship or self agrandizement .
Try to understand that. Proof of which, I might add, is that your rather snooty post still reamins.

i have had alot of help from this website and have put this website information on the forums at goodmomsfightdyfs.com which is based in nj under someone else in the fight. and everyone came here first and found this site first. so sorry if i did anything wrong but i will ask before i mention the site again please accept my apology. respectfully i do understand why this must be done.

Really, I don’t mind if people use my articles IF they give me credit for writing them, and include a link back to the page of the site where the article was found. I’m mainly trying to stop people from taking things from the site without linking back to it and telling who the author is. I’d love to get emails, however, asking for permission.

i dont get it,i mean what is the big deal.too much negative here let us all stay positive. i have few sites and i do
mention”linda”and or fight cps,if i did use things,off here but i also have three successful forums,and 8 hundreds of signature petitions and two forums,for posting for parents fighting new jersey dyfs and nationwide.i moderate for all of them
and i dont get the prob.but whatever
good luck you guys.and should be focus on the brass ring which is getting the word OUT ALL ACROSS THE BOARD AND OR MEDIA MOST IMPORTANTLY ON CPS,AND INTERNET MONTHLY,not who”copy and paste over/off of websites”that seem so trivial to me, honestly.

Morgan, I’m glad to hear your sites are doing so well. I don’t know where they are; you didn’t leave any URLs for us to follow.
I honestly don’t understand why people have been taking content off this site and posting it elsewhere without linking back to this site. But I’m sure if you were a writer, and producing lots of content for your site, you’d feel the same way I do about seeing it posted elsewhere as if someone else wrote it. That’s plagiarism. So many sites didn’t even mention my name or the site where they found the text. It just got to be too much after a while.
People should be more considerate. I have put heart and soul into this site. I expect better than to have my writing plagiarized by those who support the same cause I’m working for.

One more thing - if you see something on this site you want people to read, just make a link to it. You don’t have to take the whole article to tell people about it.

as a victum of CPS 3 times now in my divorce case and one girlfreinds case. utah familes help us out on her case and was very upsetting how it came out. so one more websites to help you out . the roskas won a there case butt the whole state of utah children lost theres they will keep doing this kidnapping for profit
read teh story sounds fimialier as many other cases . children need both parents not the organized criminals that rule our children .

hey, they are saying you can spread the word on their articles, but you must give them credit!! not a bad idea!! all i’ve done is print things for my own reference in preparation for a custody battle.

just needed some advice. wondering if i need to have annual home inspection if i i legal guardian ship of my neice and nephew and I’m native American so some things are different for me when it comes to these type of things but i don’t know what they are also from northern california anybody who can help please reply thanks

Rose & Johnd, Linda is only asking for what is, “The PROPER” thing to do. She is a writer and they r HER words, she is the first person willing to spread the news. You should give people the credit they deserve & if that makes u mad or gets u offended then YOU r on a powertrip. Mention this site to as many people possible. I beleive Linda has so much love and passion for this site, a persons words and ideas r important to them so why not mention her? Let’s not cuz, it makes u seem very uneducated. Do the right thing and ASK someone before u use their material. Peace and Love…..

I wish I knew about y’all when my 16 year old daughter was extorting me to allow her to marry the neighbor boy. I home-school which already makes me suspect, then she made up a lot of stuff that was easily dis-proved- still the judge threatened to have my younger son removed and a lot of family counseling ( VERY expensive!) done at my expense ( I am a widow on a fixed income) and still- when all the dust cleared- I have a “bad reputation” and a file to over come because of a hormonal teenager with little conscience used the system to get what she wanted. It did not work, but I still have the damage to contend with. There has to be a way to get these vultures off societies back!

I fully understand why Linda requests credit for her work. I also take time to write articles and misc. info about CPS. Many times I rewrite and rewrite until it makes good sense with proper grammer. It is a bit disturbing to find articles or information that a person has worked hard to create on a website or written material without proper credit.
It is much the same as writing for profit, ie a book, etc. Would you who find Linda’s request so offensive copy a book and post it on line as work of your own, without giving credit. If you did you would likely find an attorney at your door.
This is a quick comment, not one I spent a bunch of time on, so if you want to cut and pates as your own you can do so, and that is the difference between permission and copyright infringement.

Certainly, I had no clue only person was responsible for this site. Lord knows I felt blessed to find it. As a Mother reminding myself to breathe every day being without my children, this matter seems very petty. If this matter is so important to you (copying pages) not the stories themselves, maybe you should make a big note immediatley upon opening site for parents/mothers (like myself) & fathers whom do not have a clue of who’s who in this site. Just a thought.

I think this site is very important for the public to know about. Most do not really understand what Children and Family services are about. They assume if your children are removed, there must be valid cause. Knowone knows the truth behind it. Information is power, and lack of, is ignorance. This is a great site, to gain, the knowledge needed to help our children.
