We do not have system in Australia like the US one, therefore I am unable to comment, however, I still feel so sad re: ANY children, ANYWHERE who are abused - whether by the state, their parents or carers/guardians.

Hi linda this Johnny ithink ihave a good lawsuit against my local Department of Human Services but i realy dont have the imput on how to start the process 6 of my constitutional amendments were broken by the worker and the lower courts the amendments were the 1st 3rd, 4th,6th,9th, and 14th the worker that mornning when she took my son the only thing she sayed that i have the right to an lawyer and she took of with my son out the dooor with just a diaper on it was kinda cold then they didnt even let me read the warrant wich i may add it was a fabricated one. The police officer that was there i told him to arrest her for endagering my son by taking him out in the cold with just a diaper on And he said to me she can get away with it so drop it. We need an attorney to fight CPS in South Texas. Email if you know one.

As a person with a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) I never thought I would be taking on CPS for its actions. It all changed with the way they are dealing with my daughter and granddaughter.

Hi My Name is Alicia Kimberley, I have been fighting CPS since Aug. 8, 2005. I have done everything that htye have asked me to do to get my kids back. they removed my kids from my custody on the 8th of aug. after i brought my kids in for the forincic interview after my ex- husband sexual abused my daughter and later found out it was my son as well. The case worker that orig. took the kids a since left CPS . She and her superviser both said that i should have had my kids back By christmas in 2005. they have had my kids in theropy and have brain washed my children. My daughters father has tried to get the kids so they would be out of CPS care and they will not tranfer the case out of Houston and Harris county. they know the grounds that have have removed my kids were wrong. now they have my daughter and son and are trying to terminante our rights as parents. and tring to say that our kids do not want to be with us and i know that is not true we have always been really close to our kids. they are talking and acting like they never have before. they told my daughter that she will never get out of theropy unless she blamed me and her real father. my son has a medical problem that they are using to their advantage. he will do and follow what ever is drilled into him.
I have foughtand they told me if i sign my rights then i will still see them. if i fight then i want. the only reason they are doing this to me is because 1. i do not have a 130k home for my kids and make a 6figure income. that has been told to me 2. because i started doing my own research and found out that the grounds for them removing my children was wrong. and was quoting their laws with the artical numbers to them. since then they have changed the case worker 3 times Bridgette is still on the case and my sons theropist once Mary allen is causing my son more harm will not allow me to see him saying that he is not stable they have him doped up on three different meds one that is causing him more harm. and the Child advocate Betsy is still on the case and is against me getting my kids back despite the fact that she said she wanted the kids home once. Bridgette said the same thing. now tring to get them to return my calls is like pulling my teeth out. Jefferson county says that the things that Harris county is doing is wrong and if we could just get the case transferd that the kids would be back home. can any one please help me in this fight. I willl not give up on my children they have and always will be my life.

I agree with what you are doing here. I think that you are right when you say everyone who can should become an activist. I suffered through the state removing my son from my custody for ridiculous reasons. I got him back and am now doing everything I can to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

I’d like to tell you about a website I started called www.ChangeCPS.com. We would like to start a group in each state (for starters) that would provide support for those who need it and discuss what we can all do to reform the current system. At present, we have members from all over the country. When we have enough members to constitute a group in each state and a volunteer to facilitate it, we will start one there. We already have volunteers who will facilitate, but need more. We are also looking to raise money to send out newsletters and post each meeting at meetup.com. I hope to get help from readers of this site. We can’t accept donations yet, because we are still working on the non-profit status (which also costs money). If you would like to volunteer as a facilitator, become a member to help raise funds and get newsletters, or just browse the site, we would love to meet you. Thanks fightcps.com for encouraging all of us to join this cause.

Hi I am currently fighting false alligations of abuse on one of my children. I am totally shocked and dismayed at what is happening and I don’t know what to do. I live in Columbus Ohio. Children Services took my three little girls and also had criminal charges put on me. I actually spent time in jail and I have NEVER hurt my dughter. Now we have to fight in court on both fronts. We have a lawyer but he seems to not be very helpful. I am just looking for as much support as I can get.

My daughter is a single mother of a beautiful 7 week old girl. A week ago the father (piece of scum druggie that she kicked to the curb long before the baby was born) placed a call to CPS and reported that she was taking all kinds of drugs, violence in the home, and other crap. Not one word is true, but she (and all of us) are having to go through a horrible fight to disprove any of it. What happened to due process? constitutional rights? With nothing other than a scumbags word she has to submit to drug testing and continual investigations. Thank you for sites like that this ..

My name is Ashley Marek of
New Caney Texas.
I just stumbled on this website trying to find out something about CPS. My daughter was taken from me because of alleged drug abuse, however when we were asked to take a drug test, my husband and I were more than willing. We both passed. When the caseworker showed up on my doorstop I was sure it was good news but then again CPS has been in my life as long as I can remember and with these people only “No news is good news” They came in and took her within an hour, I didn’t fight because I was sure this was a misunderstanding. Since that day my husband have went above and beyond what they asked, getting ourselves into programs well before they thought we would. I have not seen my daughter in almost 2 months. My phone calls are not answered nor are they returned when I leave a message. This is the most heart breaking thing I have ever experienced. My little girl, Raelyn Grace will be 1 year old in three days, and we have got no where with this horrible program that tends to play with peoples lives.

I hope the best for all the other families out there dealing with the mess that comes with CPS / DCF .
Ourfamily has been torn apart since May 25 2007. My kids father was removed from our home and has since missed birthdays and other special dates. It is just not fair. The parents that want to be there for thier kids are not being treated fair. We will be going to mediation next Friday. This is were they try to avoid going to trial so the state doesn’t have to do any work. Figures. Better luck next time they are going to have do thier homework now. We have a four year old with ASD and he means everything to us. I wish you all the best and the best of luck with your own dealings.

I/we my husband, kelly and i have been fighting cps for our daughter now since march 3rd. our next court date is september 20th if- IF we get our almost two year old daughter, krystal back it’ll be the best day of our lives! they’ve kept her away from us now for almost 6 months.. been the worst time of my life. i cry myself to sleep every night- wishing waitng and hoping that soon my daughter will be back in my arms. i know everyone says “if i knew then what i know now…” but i tell everyone i come into contact with about this website, and Never to let cps in your door or they’ll never get out of your life! please pray for me and my soon to be again family.

Long story short – I was asked to check out this site by a friend. He is fighting his battle and I am trying to assist him. Unfortunately, my time is limited – especially at this time of the year. While the over all site is good, and the goal admirable, it seems many links do not work properly in the “Legal Document Library”. For example, the link “Complaint For Federal Court” provides nothing more than a new page of news bites about various cases. It would be nice if these link errors (and I found several) were corrected so that the actual document (say an actual complaint for a federal lawsuit) could be accessed. If someone has already gotten that far and wouldn’t mind sharing it, would you please let me know.
Also, the idea of www.ChangeCPS.com to start a group for each state is a good one and something that should be done here. It would make it easier to find out what is happening in any particular State and locate specific information. A listing of attorneys with contact information that are already handling such cases would also be nice.
Another idea of those who support the efforts and goals of this web site is that the web address should be listed on every e-mail you send. Make it part of your signature. LC

LC, thanks for the suggestions. I too like the idea of Change CPS and I tried to do something similar in the past. I found out that one person can’t do all things effectively. I’m excited that someone else is taking on that most important project at this time and hope the site and effort prosper.

I will look into the links in the legal document library. I’m very grateful that you reported that some of the links weren’t working. The entire page needs to be redone and I’ll put my efforts into it soon.

I’ll also see about getting attorney referrals. This is a constant need.

I feel for eveyone that has to be put thru this intimidation, manipulation, coercion, and overall torment by our own government. Reform needs to be this– if you call in an allegation on someone, it doesn’t matter who you are, you should have proof, and you should have the balls to leave your name, phone number, and address so that you can be hald accountable for false accusations, slander, deformation of character, etc……..which can be anonymous until the outcome of the shabby investigations that are done. This would also eliminate more than half of the reports and removals that occur today—- most of them occur because someone is mad or upset at someone else, isn’t that a pile of s–t!?

johnny some federal attornies will take a lawsuit with a agreement to take a persentage of the wining, provided that the attorney knows they’ll win the lawsuit. some will want to charge a flat fee to look over your case to decide whether or not there is a case.

I am from Australia and unfortunately we have a government dept that behaves just exactly the way your CPS does,it is called DOCS ,dept of childrens services.There are some differences,in that as far as I know the children arent adopted out ,but they are certainly snapped away from innocent parents very quickly .

My sister is getting harrassed with 3 CPS social workers in south Texas. I know first-hand her kids are loved and taken care for. They live with my sister AND my mother and father. The complicated thing is that one of her kids is mentally disabled and has signs of cerebal palsy (I’m not sure since this info has never been made available to me). Living 350 miles away makes me feel hopeless since my sister has no husband. Last night I was on the phone with her (she was crying) and she was asking for help on finding a lawyer or getting help on finding advice. Ive been reading alot of horror stories online and hope someone can offer assistance. I told her to keep “all details recorded” and she says she is but I am not sure how far CPS is legally able to pull her arm before taking her kids away.

Trying to get my name removed from the Virginia Central Registry of Founded Complaints. This all stems back to my divorce. 1999-2003 was when all this mess took place. If anyone has any information on how to do this please let me know.

After allegations of sexual abuse by oldest (10y mentally handicapp) and youngest (8mon & has first tooth),all in the same week,CPS made us take an on the spot Oral Fluid Drug Test!Test was given wrong, and false positive for Meth came about,one week later CPS took my babies!My oldest was placed w/ daddy,no investigation took place they said she was lying.Way too discriptive for her!Now I am facing custody termination!

I need help. Wa state CPS took control of my children in May 2006. They lived with thier father and I had what Wa. calls standard rule visitation. Thier father is an alcoholic and had relapsed and the children (they are 12 and 13) went to school and reported an incident of abuse in his home to thier counsler. They have been placed at his mothers home. I (being totally nieve about how horrible these people can be) was completely honest with them and told the worker from the start about my voluntary involvement and self placement in a dual diagnosis mental health/drug treatment program several months prior to the children being taken. I told her of my symptoms of anxiety attacks that can appeer combative to onlookers and the depression and agoraphobia that I suffer from. In the beginning she seemed real understanding and was willing to work with my disabilities. However, as time has gone by she has gotten to be less and less accessable and she has made my children less and less accessable. She refuses to speak with me at all now. In June after being informed that I had successfully completed all the required services she stopped authorizing a transportation expenses for my husband to travel with me to see my children. This put me in a fix of a situation as due to the agoraphobia I am unable to travel alone. My attorney asked the court about getting me some additional mental health services and the SW’s response was the the department didn’t have access to those services. I later found out from another SW that they do infact have access to these services and was able to aquire them through her on my own. several times I have experianced the CPS SW standing in front of the judge and telling blatent lies about me and my behaviors toward my children. things that can be proven to be false and my attorney does nothing to defend me. In our June hearing the Judge made some specific orders, but when we got the copy of the amended court document it did not reflect what the Judge had ordered at all and again my attorney is unconcerned. I have also had the SW send me to the wrong address to visit my children and then report to the Judge that I didn’t show up as though I was the negligent party. When I point out to my attorney that during the time that I was stating that I would not comply with services the SW gave me unsupervised visits and she has placed more and more limitations on the visits the more in compliance I’ve become until she has totally suspended them as I am in total compliance my attorney does nothing to explain why or point this out in court. I have filed a complaint with the Omsbudsmens office and am waiting for a response. I am very interested in finding an attorney also to file a suit against the SW and the state for violation of the americans with disabilities act.

I, too, have met with DHS. I am not standing by while they work their deceptions. I urge everyone who comes in contact with them to not let them threaten you or coerce you into givings statements. They WILL use it against you. Do not use a local attorney to defend you. Coming from an attorney that I didn’t hire” We have to live in this town and we are all retained by DHS.” Seek legal assistance outside of your county. Mainly, State Reps and so forth, but you have to get the information out. If in Oklahoma, I urge you to contact State Representative Terry Harrison. He is trying to do something about the abuse of power that DHS has. E-mail, send letters, call his office. So far, he is the only attorney or official that is actually trying to take actions and make DHS take responsability for the injustices and injuries done to our children and families, that I have come across. God bless you all, stand fast and don’t give in.

I want back my grandson for my daughters sake and my grandsons sake he is only 1 and he was taken at 4 months from his mommy and now she is so tramitized my this she cant eat, sleep, think, not nothing.
I am terrified and the other family he is with are citizens of lebinon. Not good and there is no standing order that he can not be removed from the united states. The dads Family has him to make the long story short.

I am beginning my career as an investigator. I have heard so many horrible storys againt the rights of families. In Bay city mi. Cps. has covered up and buried under the rug their actions. A local court officer and his wife also ex court employee. Had foster children. One little girl told her mother on a visit, that she was being watched while she was bathing and dressing by the man. She told the foster mother, who then told cps… The child causes trouble whenever she has a visit with her mother. Cps then removed the visitation rights of the mother for trying to help her daughter. The court officer then raped the birth daughter of his wife. Only Then did the wife complain of his Lewd behavior. Why is it okay to violate a foster child but not a birth daughter? The mother of the foster child needs her Rights back! Please respond. This case was in the news but now covered up. Thank you.

I am a grandmother of 5 grandchildren 3 yrs. ago 3 of my grandchildren were put in danger at the hands of the CPS. I fought the caseworker with all my might. The people that my grandchildren were allowed to be in contact with, shot my 2 and one half year old grandson, my grandson had to be air flighted to a nearby hospital to mend 4 holes in his intestine. Also incest talk from the CPS worker himself about this same family. My daughter was beaten and strangled, by these same people. Even after all these things my daughter was told that she could not do anything about it by the CPS worker. The man that beat my daughter which was her husband at the time and his family commited crimes against my family. My daughter aquired a protective order, But still the CPS worker did nothing to assist in the safety of the babies. He kept telling her she couldn’t remove the children . My husband and I didn’t care what he said the safety of the children were at stake. We went to their house and picked up 2 of the 3 children. The 3rd. baby was the bio. child of the individual who was arrested. Even after this individual was arrested, my daughter was told by the CPS worker that she still could not go get the baby. One of the individuals who had shot my grandson was there at that house. The CPS worker told me himself that he did not think it was an accident that my grandson was shot, he said he could not prove it so there was nothing he could do about it. And from all the information I have gotten sounds like they don’t have to prove it. This same worker asked me if I wanted my 3rd. grandson, as to he could get rid of him for me. I told him my 3rd. grandson was just as much my grandson as the others. After this CPS worker told my daughter that she could not go get the 3rd. son My husband went to the D.A. and they said go get that baby they called the police dept. to assist my husband and our daughter. During this time the phone in my house rang I answered the phone and it was the CPS worker he said he hadn’t been able to locate my daughter so he thought she might be at my house, I told him she was not here, he said well do you know where she is at I said yes she went to get her son, he said she can’t do that I said evidently she can, he said who said she could I said the D.A. Then he starts saying I know I didn’t help you all much. I just cut him off I didn’t want to talk to him. My daughter got her son, we went to court the courts made it to where this family cannot have anything to do with my daughter or my grandchildren. Thanks be to God the Father. His Son Christ Jesus our Lord and the Holy Spirit of God. The CPS worker testified in court that that family was very misleading people. I believe he testified this way to cover himself. Because the only one who was misled was him and I don’t believe he was misled I believe he knew there was no way he could take my daughters children from her or her family, but it would be easy to take them from the other family. Before the D.A. was called this CPS worker had came to my house saying he had been getting calls that there was drugs in my house and that my daughter and myself were involved with these drugs he stated that if we wanted him to testify on our daughters behalf, we would allow him to go through our house mind you my daughter and her children did not live with us. I told him he sure could if he would call a police officer to accompany him. He ignored that and stated again that if we wanted him to testify on our daughters behalf we would allow him to go through our house my husband said he would take him through the house,and he did we did not trust this man not to find something he might have had in his own person and say he found it in our house. My husband was stuck to this man like glue. When they made their way back to the room I was in this CPS worker pointed to his chest as if pointing to my husband who was only a few steps behind him and I said you have got to be kidding. I asked him if he had checked our records he said he had, I said well did you find anything he said no. My husband and I grew up here my husband has been working for the same company for 35 yrs. I also said I would submitt myself to a drug test but he never asked for one because he knew how it would come out and I know my daughter does not have anything to do with drugs we are to close and the manifestation would be evident. My daughter is very happy now my grandsons are very happy children, the one that was shot will have to carry a 4in. scar for the rest of his life but he is a wounderful blessing to us all. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for watching over us. I would reccomend to all who have to deal with criminal activity from the CPS are anywhere stand and when you have done all to stand stand therefore. Speak out for your loved ones do not leave it to someone else. You are the one who loves them, and have their best intrest at heart. United we Stand. My P.O. I need an attorney to help me get a copy of a cps complaint against me one year ago. a neighbor who wanted me to move out of my apartment so that they could move in started making multiple complaints to cps until I gave in and moved at geat expense to myself and had to break my lease. the electric company said that the new tenant moved in two days after I moved out. CPS sacramento won’t give me access to the record so I can start a civil action.

i have been trying to get help with my cps case for years it all started when i was moving out of my house in az cps showed up at my house at 9pm at night and said they had a call that my house was a mess and that my kids were being neglected so they removed my 3 girls from my home in 2/04 and they still have my girls they place my girls back at home with me after my son was born when he was 8 months old he die of SIDS and CPS remove the girls again. my case worker stood in my step sisters house and look at my husben and i and told us that we are the reson are son is gone he said that we killed are son when it clearly states in the report that it was a SIDS case.I have done every thing cps has ask of me and now my lawer is telling me the best thing for me to do is sit down and shut up. well im not going to sit down and shut up i have done that for the last four years almost and i cant take it anymore i will fight to the death to get my girls back home with me

I am in the middle of a divorce. The mother, kidnapped my daughter and filed false CPS charges, I have been through several hearings, proved my innocence, the ad litem was removed from the case, now I have temporay joint custody. My I file a civil law suit against the mother, she has residence visa from Peru,
You file false police report you get in trouble, I am going for custody of my 7 year old daughte. I need Help, A Father who cares and Loves His daughter.

Hello Linda, Want to thank you for this sight not only this is helping families it’s helps me as a ex grandmother who lost the fight through a quick rush homestudy report full of inaccurate information where I was told by my lawyer to give up maybe I would have visits after the adoption this was five something years ago. The trauma of coerce statements by my daughter through this trauma til this day, I have this need to write about my experiences in a book. To help other families also to get a good clear picture on what it is like to work with this agency and what it’s like to not have your love one! I feel people who are interested will see that this agency dealings with these families are not right and violations as citizens of this supposedly great country needs to be change! I understand the safetly issues but what I do not understand is the deceived this agency has on families like it’s going out for lunch! People are not perfect but there programs are sets ups for there advantages! Also like to heard from other grandmothers who try to fight for custody of loves ones and what there homestudy report was like!
