They make to easy for people to call in on people. If they start revealing who these people are they will quit being low down. When C.P.S come to your house it’s not only embarrassing to you but to your children. Nashville really needs a change.

my family is dealing with the same issues and our attorney is very upset with the lies. CPS took my grandson because they said my daughter burnt him. CPS has no case and they didn’t even coroprate with the detective, we had to give the detective the proper information and she closed the case. This has been going on since april 10 and we have only had a shelter hearing everytime we think we are going to see a judge CPS pulls something. last week they tried to get my daughter to sign dependacy papers and she almost did because she wants her son back, well we all know what would have happened if she did that. My daughter has wanted me to have my grandson, I have no criminal record but they have made up stuff on me and I have been doing everything through email and that is what CPS does not like. CPS came into my daughters life beause of the baby’s father, not because he was being abused. Don’t you think that it is very interesting that CPS says the baby’s father cannot have a relationship with him, his family hardly new my grandson and so why did CPS give my grandson to his paternal great aunt and not to mention she has been in jail for domestic violence among other things. CPS does not want me to have my grandson because he won’t be in the system any more and because when they don’t do there job by giving my daughter the services she needs I get in there face and if you know about case workers it makes them mad when you tell them how to do there job. CPS is trafficking our children for federal dollors and we need to put a stop to it.

I think Canada’s Children’s Aid Societies needs reform, but with Bill 165, we cannot bring them to the Parliament to reform CAS. However, we can amend the CFSA (Child and Family Services Act) which regulates CAS Workers. It is a bit different than USA. In the CFSA, we should include the new clause to hold CAS Workers accountable for lying, fabrication of records, persecution on families, and so forth…if we put in the new clause, the Workers will start to behave. If they consort to Lying and covering up pertaining information, and if they are caught, the new CFSA can hold them accountable and bring them before the Courts, criminally charged for malicious reporting in order to enhance child protection cases. I think with new amendement, the Workers will start to act professionally and the families will regain the trust from CAS once more. But that would be a long time coming though.

Cassie, it isn’t just Nashville. False accusations are happening everywhere. You have a good point that this problem of crazy people making snitch calls should be stopped. The mandated reporting laws need to be changed.

Just to be clear I want people to know that Linda (above) isn’t the same Linda that runs this site (me). Linda is a very common name!!

Linda, your last sentence says it all. A lot of the caseworkers don’t care what’s best for the children and the families. They want to retaliate and make people suffer, and it is all for money.

MY DAD AND MY SISTER WHOM HAVE NO CRIMINAL HISTORY HAVE BEEN FINGERPRINTED TO TAKE THE KIDS TWO WEEKS AGO AND NOTHING MY SOCIAL WORKER IS UNRESPONSIVE, I HAVE TESTED CLEAN WORK FULL TIME BUT HAVE TO ATTEND DRUG TREATMENT, COUNSELING AND PARENTING CLASSES. MY KIDS KEEP TELLING ME HOW THEY ARE MISTREATED IN SEVERAL WAYS MY 1 YR. OLD HAS GOTTEN SEVERAL DIFFERENT BRUISES AND I CAN NEVER GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER. I DON’T KNOW HOW I COULD DO MORE ALL THE CLASSES AND COUNSELING I HAVE TO PAY FOR AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. We need to repeal the Mondale Act and the Clinton Act to start with.

I agree with Cassie about the reporting by anyone and everyone.

I would like to point out that Judge Judy gave a tongue lashing to a woman who called cps just because she felt she was judge and jury and felt she had a duty to report parents.

I cannot quote her comment correctly but, it was along the lines that she was a nasty woman for doing this. It had to do with a mother seeking damages for this woman falsely reporting her to cps. Now granted we don’t know our callers and cps won’t tell us who called but, this woman told the mother she called and so that is why the mother was able to
take her to court.

Judge Judy kept asking the woman how many calls she made to cps. The woman told her about all of them and that is when Judge Judy got upset. People in the court room clapped when Judge Judy called her a nasty woman or something along those lines.

We need to make the judges accountable for their actions. Start doing a tally on how many cases a judge hears and finds for cps. Make it public knowledge.

Same for caseworkers. Make it public knowledge about how many families s/he have made victims through lies to the court. Every politician is scrutinized and what they do is made public knowledge. Same goes for anyone working for the state and getting paid from our tax dollars. Maybe if we did this people would not be so willing to work for cps.

Anyone who works for the government is our servant; we are not their servant.

I hope folks have viewed the video on Youtube regarding the *stolen grandchild/baby in California*

Search under *stolen baby* or *stolen child* on Youtube.

If you search under that term you will find the shocking video, and note that the family HAD to bring in a filmmaker to publicize this shocking tale.

Note that the CPS workers involved retired soon after the video was made public.

As to drug testing constantly, no matter how many billions have been pumped into the WOD, it still remains a failure after a generation of even *constant education* against illegal substances in the public schools.

When we note that famous figures such as Rush Limbaugh and reputedly the current President of the US have been involved in illegal substances, we must question our mission regarding illegal substances.

Note even that such repressive societies as Iran, Iraq, China, and Afghanistan have been unable to stop consumption of illegal substances.

I think they should have to do a criminal investigation and charges should have to be brought up before they can keep children from their parents. I also think that they should go by the law as it is innocent until proven guilty.

well they need to be drugged tested ramdomley and be made to brign the caller with them when they come a knocking. we need to make the people who call on us come with the cps worker. and we need to know why the hopiels are calling on us to. our childern desevers both parents and they deserve to know the truth. we need to have anwers to the real turth why they do this to us. we need more information on the caller and we nned to now why. the caller is the Iv to cps without them they wouldn’t have a job. we need to make the caller accuntable to. amd have more drug testing on the workers at cps and we need to make the caller feel the conquiness if it’s a lie he/she is telling the cps office…..it’s the callers that make cps take are kids…..we need to put a stop to the callers that is the Iv and we need more drug testing on the workers because they only have to be drugged tested one time….if we have to be drugged tested on demand they should be too. if we feel they are taking drugs we should beable to say take a drug test…..thank you Melinda

i agree with you justina i dont know how we can be but so much of a danger if it cant be proven but hearsay because thats all cps is. an easy way to make hearsay evidence. the caseworkers word even if completely a lie is taken to be a fact. caseworkers have lied in my case and they denied me all due process they took my son because a hospital knew they would get a law suit if i found out they discharged him with a deadly infection. but guess what i did and dyfs and that hospital need to start thinking of more lies to cover up the hundreds of violations against my family. violating the 8th amendment to the fullest. intended for those government officials who abuse their power.

I agree that it should be made that not just anyone can make charges. I also feel that cps and foster care should be trained properly (intensive). These people have you and your kids lives in their hands, and friends and extended family. We did a search last night and found out that the worker that originally took our children had her licence since 11/06 the worker that took over has let hers lapse as of april but the foster care worker that is in control we can not find a licence for. Also I envoked my foia rights and asked for my cps file and all I received was a closing statement. No one can seem to find the apprehension order.??? things are misspelled too my kids were taken on 3/14/07 they are 2 and 9

Yes. How about making a false report punishable by up to five years in jail and a fine not to exceed $10,000

Additionally, CPS workers who come up with bogus /unsubstantiated evidence be fined triple and jailed 5 times as long.

One of these bozoes showed up at my door and asked why my kids were at the airport overnight alone…. when I was there TWO FRIGGIN HOURS before the plane ever got there, met them at the gate, and escorted them safely home.

Oh, and take THEIR kids away too.

My neighbor’s son was accused of molesting his sister. He is autistic and vehemently denies it ever happened. As a member of the International High IQ Society and a member of the International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals, I consider myself a fair judge of character and I believe him. Not to mention she was seven and he fourteen. They could EASILY ascertain the truth. In any event, both the younger sister and a younger brother were sent to foster homes. In the course of struggling with grief, the father received a lot of negative attention from the church. When he told them he would be switching to a different church, an undisclosed church member called CPS and told them they had personally seen him smoke a crack pipe. I don’t know why CPS would believe this, but… he’s still fighting to get the kids back. Any advice I can pass on to help him (in California) would be great. Also, who exactly does one report a church that behaves like this?

I believe CPS should have mandatory investigation on all people making reports. Most people who would call CPS for unfounded reasons
A. Have previous dealings with CPS with negative outcomes(hence the reason they view CPS as negative)
B. Are in need of intervention themselves.
I believe it has become an american tradition to call CPS on those you no longer see eye to eye wih.This has to stop. For the wellfare of this country we must stop destroying the lives of those who will grow up to run this country. I too have had many dealings with CPS, and unfortunantly the first time I played dead and did everything they asked me too. How could I not, they had my son, even up to and including pleading guilty to crimes I did not committ, as I could not have him back while facing possible jail time. Here’s what I learned. My son was found home alone after my ex-husband and I had arranged for a friend to watch him so we could celebrate our anniversary. He was immediatly taken into custody. After three months of doing everything I was told to do, I agreed to lack of supervision civil charges so “my son could be returned to us”. If I am such a bad mother, and you are so convinced that I abandoned him, why would you give my son back? THen the charges I agreed to in an effort to get my son back were used against me in criminal findings. Yes, my house was not as clean as it could have been. Yes, my son was home alone, but he was left with someone who was PAID and agreed to watch him. Why is this person not in jail, especially since she is the one who called and reported it?
This time all of this is against me, but I was smarter this round. I hired a lawyer the day they showed up at my door. In addition to being able to tell them not only who called them, but even provide email where this person claimed to have called them in retaliation, I am still in a huge investigation. Something has to be done, and I will support, sign, or be present for any action that even looks like it could stop the devastation of Can’t Prove S**t (but we’ll take your kid anyway){A.K.A. CPS}

I have worked so hard to get my brother’s story told, and during this processes I have learned so much. I have searched the country over and I have yet to read a case like my brother’s. If there is one person who knows or has experienced such a case with being a single father and then having your children taken away and then convicted of such a horrible crime and sentenced to 35 years in prison for NOTHING please help me help him. I have created a web page and YOU TUBE video to tell his story because there is so much that did happen like most cases I can not explain it all. If you have answers, if you see something I do not, let me know, HOW, WHY, WHEN, WHERE, WHAT I can do to fix this.

First of all I believe that CPS should be completely shut down and reorganized.

I think that when a report is made on a family:

1. Any allegations MUST be processed through the police department first - NO EXCEPTIONS. The police are more than capable of handling emergency situations, including removing any children in harms way, and obtaining warrants for LEGAL entry.

2. If there is no evidence of what the call/report was about, the police should hold the person calling in the report accountable for all expenses incurred up to $10,000 from the report being made and tell the family the name of who made the report as to be able to get to the bottom of why (family dispute, neighbor dispute etc). And then refer to CPS for them to find counseling to resolve dispute.

3. A false report should be punishable for up to 10,000 and/or 1yr in jail.

4. I don’t think that Foster Parents should get money, they should get Food Stamps, WIC, TANIF (per child) Medicaid this way they would most likely weed out the majority of bad Foster Families, which are doing for monetary reasons.

5. CPS workers should NOT be allowed to go to court (they are not attorneys or judges or police). They do not have the qualifications to decide on people’s lives much less their children’s lives.

6.CPS should NOT be funded by the US Government in any way, shape or form. All monies for CPS should be provided by the State ONLY. All courts shall have NO affiliation with CPS WHATSOEVER.

7. All records are to be provided to all concerned parties. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN FILES BE SEALED AGAINST ANY PARENT, DOCTOR, ATTORNEY OR ANYONE CONNECTED TO THE CASE.

8. CPS MUST allow parents/family members to go to the doctor of their choosing with NO interference from CPS

9. CPS is not allowed to question the child or children in any way shape or form. That is solely the Police Dept and Doctors, Hospitals jobs.

Case Workers only jobs should be:

a. To check on and monitor the Foster Homes and make sure they are up to par and taking care of the child/children
b. Help the parents in anyway they need help such as: implementing the following: finding doctors, transportation to meetings/classes/doctors, finding the local meetings/classes, finding stable employment, finding affordable housing, signing up for Medicaid, daycare etc…
c. All Case Workers should have a degree or equivalent to family counseling, social services, skills, young childhood development education etc….
d. To find counseling to resolve disputes between the person that falsely made a report and the family/person reported on.
e. They DO NOT have or take any part in adoptions. That is solely up to the Legal System. Parents adopting children in the system DO NOT get money for adopting these children. THE STATE MAY PAY FOR THE LEGAL FEES FOR THE ADOPTION PROCESS. DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

All payments to CPS workers, supervisors, board member, etc, should be minimum wage FROM THE STATE GOVERNMENT.
NO BOUNTIES or bonuses should EVER be paid to ANYONE in CPS due to length of stay in foster homes or adoption. ALL CHILDREN who become ill for ANY REASON UNDER CPS WATCH are to be returned to their families IMMEDIATELY OR TO ANOTHER FOSTER HOME ONLY after being checked over by a doctor. Along with the child being removed, ALL FUNDING OR PAYMENTS MADE TO CPS FOR THAT CHILD SHALL BE SURRENDERED BACK TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT OR GIVEN TO THE FAMILY OF SAME CHILD FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL CARE.(how’s that one!)

FALSE ACCUSATIONS!!! must be stopped. That is where it all begins.. Anyone who has the slightest problem with a person will report them. Even people who you have never met will report you if you don’t raise your children the way they THINK they should be raised!! Who has the control here? Not us thats for sure. CPS getting into your life when you do nothing wrong. I have known many people who have went through terrible pain but its the children who suffer the most and its CPS who are hurting the children.
But its the false reporting that gets you noticed for doing nothing wrong. I think those people should have to undergo a criminal background check, be named not protected , BE DRUG TESTED,be fingerprinted and put on a national registry for false reporting, testify in court, and be fined and jailed. I also agree that this system is so flawed it is like the SS is alive and well in America. They need to be stopped. They know they have all the power they are a government within a government and they laugh because you can’t touch them. They are exempt from us.
They flaunt their power and the Judges listen to them not us. If it weren’t for the poor people who get their children taken Family Court would probably only be needed once a year. I don’t even want to get started on court appointed lawyers! what a joke that is….

§48.053. False Report; Penalty
A person commits an offense if the person knowingly or intentionally reports information as provided in this chapter that the person knows is false or lacks factual foundation. An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor.

This is CPS’s Laws - notice they don’t enforce this one!

This is the way I see it: yes there are people who abuse their kids, it does happen but it isn’t that common of an occurrence to the level that cps sees it is. Most of the time it’s just a social worker’s opinion on how to raise kids conflicting with what the parent does.For example some people see it very wrong to slap a child;others do it and don’t see anything wrong with it - they got slapped as a child and they grew up fine. Truth is it’s really a case of whatever works for them. The big problem comes when the social worker with her opinions walks in and wants you to do it her way or else. So anyway how do we fix the system? Here is my take:

1) First you have to educate the social workers that there are many different ways of parenting not just their way. Just because they have X amount of children and were able to do xy and z doesn’t mean all people can or even want to. It should not be their way or no way.

2) Reporting should be done at the CPS office, there should be a form to fill out and identification should be presented. If that report turns out to be false and the social worker had to investigate it the person filing the report should have to pay the expense (ex; the social workers pay for the day, gas, the paper etc.) Now I do understand that some people feel they need to make the report but don’t want to get involved like in the case of a mom who feels her daughter is on crack and needs help and is neglecting her grandchildren. That is why I think the name should be withheld from the person who is being investigated but should be known to the worker.

3) The relationship between the person reporting and the person being investigated should be looked at carefully before the case is investigated. Often it is an ex of some sort or somebody who was friends but had a falling out. Those cases are usually unfounded and only serve the purpose of getting even.

4) All conversations should be taped. This way neither party cps or the family being investiagted can claim something was said that wasn’t and their can be no misunderstandings. Miranda Rights should be adhered to the same in a cps case as it is in any other criminal case. From the moment cps walks in your door you should have the right to an attorney because in the current cps system they will misinterpret and twist everything you say and you can’t prove you said otherwise. By taping the conversation it leaves the interpretation up to the judge.

5) Social workers who file false charges, and make no effort to actually help the family should lose thier jobs and in severe cases should receive jail time and or fines. Or even maybe charge them with abuse/neglect of that child because they are abusing them by filing false charges and or not helping fix the problem.

6) The social worker should be there to help not hinder. They should provide services to the family based on what they need. They should not demean, degrade, ridicule or anything else along those lines.

7) There should be a form for the parents to fill out on how that social worker is helping them just like when you go someplace like a restaurant and they have you fill out something about how was your service today with questions to rate the waitress/cook ect.

Those would fix many problems. Even though I have been burnt by the system I understand its purpose. There are children who need to be protected, there are actual cases of abuse/neglect. However the main goal should be to keep families together not rip them apart. In the current system I see too many parents who don’t abuse their children get dragged through the coals and too many kids who are abused fall through the cracks. It makes me so mad when I know I’m being falsely accused and going through hell and then I turn on the local news and see “father beats 7 year old to death” where was cps then? I know - probably at my house where I don’t even hit my kids!

I feel that CPS is a bunch of bull. Why should some person be able to come into your home and take something as precious as children away from the one thing that they know and love their mom/dad just because some third party decides that they are going to screw a family up. I can not stand these people. I hate the way they twist stories and involve everyone even people should not be involved. What gives them the right.And the biggest kicker is most of them don’t have kids and the ones that do should experence what any or all of us have been through. Its exactly what they say one day they will be judged just as they judge others.

c.p.s. when will the lies stop??? How could a person be so cruel as to rip children away from there parents, families, the ones who truly love and care for them. What right have they to do such?? The Answer is none, c.p.s. has no right to do such harm to children and their families. there is nothing right about kidnapping a child from his rightful bioi-logical parents. The law that supports and governs such corruptness is one that I am ashamed of completely and against completely, and forever will be. I to was a victim of c.p.s. lies and all the wrongs they achieved from legally kidnapping my minor son, for use in their adoption services. I would never give up my rights to my son, much less give him away to any one else. But they stole him and proceed to do so. With the son that with love I created, carried through pregnancy, bonded with, and loved and love unconditionally with every once of my soul. There is no worse, or wrong thing that i can envision than this that c.p.s. and the courts have allowed. A mother and child being torn apart and separated forever, not knowing what was to be complete together as a family once c.p.s. is done severing and tearing our family apart. Since Nov. 30, 2004, I have been dealing with a nightmare of Adams County Dept. Social Services.

On that day they removed my son, age 11, from his school, without a warrant or an order to do so. I was also not notified, until late in the evening when a police officer called me and told me I could pick up my son. Only to find out what had happened and then I called the hospital where they had taken him after they interrogated him, without counsel, for hours at a place called link. I was informed that the officer was mistaken and they were not releasing my son. They then transfered him to Fort Logan Mental Hospital. There they also placed him on meds even though my parental rights had not been removed and I told them I did not authorize the use of meds. I didn’t hear anything from his school, or the ACDSS for days.

On Dec. 3, I was in the process of moving. I was packing and getting ready to leave town. Of course now having the issue with my son, things were delayed. ACDSS and 2 police officers show up at my door. We did not invite them in. They said they were coming either way. They had no warrant. They immediately went downstairs where my daughter, age 4, was sleeping. Made me wake her up to interrogate her. They made me leave. Questioned her without a warrant, without a guardian present or without a laywer. They were also going through my property downstairs. When they brought her up, they insisted on strip searching her. She was already scared and upset over everything including her brother being missing. All she had on was a pullup. They could tell she was not abused. The case worker then decided she was going to attack me verbally and also fight with one of the officers who told her no, they were not going to remove her. There was no evidence of abuse or neglect.

She then went outside and called a judge and had him over rule the officers. After calling me a Bitch and telling me I needed to learn how to be a parent. She grabbed my daughter out of my arms and carried her out of my home, on Dec 3 with no coat, no shoes and no clothes.. She left me a piece of paper telling me when to go to court. Nothing else. No warrant. No parental rights and remedies. It was over 45 days before I saw my daughter again. Under strict supervised sessions. The allegations have changed so many times. But they are in violation of 4th, 14th amendments, they are also in violation of the 1st amendment, by using statements against religion etc.. that they were not able to verify even if they could use them. This went on with them changing facts, allegations etc. the whole time. There is a lot more to the case but you would be reading forever.

In the end result, my public defenders did nothing for us. I completed what they wanted me to do. I was never allowed to testify in my own defense. Not even allowed to speak in court. I had done research on my own since my public defender wouldn’t do anything. I tried to submit motions etc, but was then told I couldn’t. My daughter was taken away. my rights were terminated in less than a year. They adopted her immediately to the foster parents who she resided with. My son was in Cleo Wallace and then my in-laws were allowed to take custody of him. Even after I reported the drinking going on in the home. My son was abused by them, and ran to me. I ended up having to get the EL Paso county social Services and police involved. Things have now gone down hill again. my son is now a criminal, due the the neglect of the state and the police dept. to take action on my complaints.

Now my in-laws do not want him back and of course now they have come to me again. Only they are doing the same as Adams County did and violating our rights. My son at age 13, was self representing. We went to court without a lawyer and they pushed a treatment plan on us, that we were not part of making. The same as Adams County did. Persuant to C.S.R. 19-3-209, DHS Volume 7, section 7.301.22, Respondent was not afforded the opportunity to participate in the formation of the treatment plan, which violates the statutory mandate and is a denial of due process.

There are a lot of things wrong with this case. They of course brought me down to my knees so I could no longer fight them. My husband lost a job of 17 yrs running back and forth to these courts and meetings. We lost our medical, dental, down to our personal belongings because I could not leave my children behind. Now I am trying to rebuild a life. My son is back in the system because of their error and they are trying to make me go through all of this again. I feel like I am being tried here 2 times for something I never did.

They need to be stopped by investigating what seems to be a profit making scheme by DHS by removing children for no need, when there are children out there being killed everyday because they are so overloaded with these kind of cases they don’t have the resources to help them.

My two girls, three and five, and I are going through hell right now because of CPS. We moved into our home two months ago, since then I have been harassed by a neighbor to the point of filing suit against him.

To summarize, this neighbor called CPS shortly after we moved in and told CPS that I leave my girls outside until 1 or 2am most nights, and most nights HE walks them to my door and bangs and bangs to wake me. The first CPS worker that came to investigate closed the file quickly with an unfounded status saying it could not be proved. (yes, because it is not true) The very day I received the case report saying it was unfounded, I had ANOTHER CPS worker at my door. This time the accusation was that my girls were 8 blocks away in their underpants a few minutes before the CPS person came to my house, in fact the CPS Dept. received two calls from him (my wonderful neighbor) saying he was watching the kids while he was on the phone, the only thing this man didn’t know is the CPS worker was watching him. My girls were not outside.

When CPS finally came to my door after driving around looking for two girls in underpants three and five. The worker came to my door and said she was from CPS and asked me where my children were at, I told her they had went camping with my parents two days ago and wouldn’t be back for three more days and asked her why. Then she told me the CPS Dept. had received three calls about the girls. So she asked me to prove they were with my parents, I told her to look around my house, and then I called my mom’s cell phone and she told the worker she had the girls. The worker even tried to trip my mom into giving her the wrong time that I took the girls to her, asking me questions and then asking my mom questions while still on the phone, it was nuts.

This same thing has happened many times, he calls and the girls are not even home or are inside with me napping or playing when the worker arrives. But, CPS has somehow come up with “witnesses” that can confirm the calls of neglect. She even found one who said I let them swim in our pool alone. Yeah, right. So now here we are stuck at the mercy of CPS…

So, I hire an investigator to go through the neighborhood and take statements to see what is going on (at this time I didn’t know who was calling, I didn’t even know any of the neighbors) My investigators report came back that my neighbor had placed the calls and to quote him, he is going to “keep making calls until she moves”, according to him no renters should live here (btw, I own my home).

Back to the investigator, she found after speaking to just about everyone on the block that this man (the one who calls CPS) and his wife target people and harass them until they get mad enough to move. He had put most people on our block through hell for more than 13 years. Same situation, CPS calls, calls about loud music to police, calls about vehicles not parked correctly, grass needing cut, animals at large, animals voiding in his yard, this man has complained about everything.

To make a really long story short, it seems this second CPS worker got totally different stories from the neighbors, including one finding my children alone and taking them both to her house to calm them down because they couldn’t find me for so long. I cannot believe this case worker starts out saying she realizes what this man is doing and this is nothing more than pure harassment by him to now saying I need to take my children to play therapy, have them examined, I need to see a shrink, I need to take parenting classes (she still doesn’t know I have two children in college who I raised as a single mother from the ages of 2 and 4 they are now 21 and 23 from my first marriage, the three and five year old are from my second marriage and he passed away from a car accident last year) So the last thing I need at this point is parenting classes.

I have hired a private attorney but this whole thing is awful, my girls and I are not sleeping, always nervous. I had just got them through the passing of their father, well to where they are not crying and asking me when he is coming home. My attorney told me the CPS dept. in each state gets money from the federal government for every child removed from their parents. They get more money than if they would just have helped the family and left them alone!

Has anyone hired an attorney to fight CPS? I would be interested in any suggestions… I am in Iowa btw…Thanks. Kim

we as u.s citizens need to put a stop to these lying decitful child stealers what they don’t know they make up i think they need to have the burden of proof and pay more attention to who’s doing the reporting like listen to tone of voice do they have a problem with this person are they being vindictive and hold these people accountable for their actions and stop unessercery spending of our tax dollers job sercurity what i did is i got a good laywer if we don’t stand up for ourselfs and come at them in numbers somthing can and will be done i am from washington state i am tring to form a coalolation against these clearly unhappy people

we should try and start a new law where people who make false accusations are held accountable.i have been through this 3 times all 3 times closed because of a family member who thisnk its funny.these people should have to leave a name and address so when the people are cleared of wrong doing these people can be prosecuted.

Make it so children are interviewd on tape. There are rules that they have to ask the child if they want someone present when questioning occurs, but they never ask them. I am dealing with these monsters because a principal said my daughter said we touch her all over . WHen my daughter was questioned she said we touch her allover but not on her privates DUH ya we do its called bathing. they say even though my daughter said we do not touch her privates they have to go on what the principa said. It seems like they want to believe something happened they become desensitized and all the cases are the same to them, then they want to offer services like counseling. FOR WHAT IF NOTHING IS HAPPENING AND THE CHILD SAYS THERE IS NOT AR YOU NOT SUPPOSE TO BELIEVE THE CHILD???

i absolutely hate the cps system in pa! i grew up in it they took me but left my sisters behind to get the same fate as me. and now that i’m grown up and on my own i still cannot get rid of them. they want custody of my children because i am a “stastic”… i must want to beat my children since i grew up with that. granted i faced alot of abuse from my mother and her various boyfriends i got more from my foster parents with an exception of 2 families. it does not matter what my husband and i do it’s never good enough and they want more. cooperating and telling them everything is the worst thing to do because they lie and twist all that information to help themselves out. i just can’t find a lawyer that wants to take these people on (pa) in 2 weeks i’m pretty sure that my husband and i will be losing our children to cps and when that happens my marriage is over too… just what cps wanted to begin with. we are a young but very loving happy family who is just trying to make our way in the world. the kids have a roof over their head (barely cause we’re going broke paying for all the crap cps wants us to do) they have clothes on their backs food for their bellies and they do not live in squander. not to mention the fact that the children are always with one of their parents no sitters. what more can we possibly do???

I pray that CPS workers WILL be accountable for their actions, in court and be sentenced for the false and fraudelent statements they made to kidnap our babies! The suffering they are causing for so many thousands and thousands, for financial gain cannot even be punished fairly here on earth. May God have as little mercy on them, as they had on our babies and on us. I’m sorry for the unforgiving heartfelt hurt I have now, for them. i have an issue with my neighbors nitpicking about me and my kids its always something and this time its that i let my kids play out in the yard by themselves we live way off the main road and hardly anyone ever comes down this road and everyone who does has kids that live here and play ion the road and at the neighbors houses like one big daycare

the police showed up and told us to watch our kids better so i told em to be sure not to go out without me buit being 9, 6, and 3, they didnt listen cause they were able to play out till last week so they went out yesterday while i was taking a nap which they werent allowed to do ever before but because i dont let em play while im napping but i guess they thought since they cant play out now that theyd sneak while i was asleep so while they were playing social services showed up and i was asleep and the kids were outside i proceeded to get chewed out and i asked them what im supposed to do put locks up high where they cant reach while im asleep and they said yes so i went out and got some and i put them in but im afraid to use them cause the kids couldnt get out in case of a fire or something also they said my kids cant play out in the back yard by themselves even though its fenced in
and that since my fiance who is also my oldest childs father has a prison record for abuse of a child from ten years ago that i can no longer leave them alone with him even though he is off of drugs and cleaned up his life im afraid they are gonna make him leave and it wasnt even accusations of abuse that they came over it was me neglecting my kids cause i let em walk out and play with the rest of the kids who live here in the neighborhood without an adult even though everyone else here is the same way also they have had me for dinner several other times and you know what 1 time i did need their help but they made such a big deal over it all and i feel like im being harrassed cause some of the crap they have come over has been like my kid had diaper rash and i wasnt treating it even thoughi had perscription diaper rash cream in the diaper bag and that my daughters bottle was spoiled when all it was was the type of milk she had was nutramigen and it smells rotted anyways andi didnt have food in the house even though i did have plenty
and the traileri used to live in was infested with rats and bugs so when my grandpa died i built a house with my inheritance so i could have a good place for my kids to live and they said i wasnt going fast enough and that i wasnt cleaning my house let me tell you i tried but when i stopped spending money on that trailer and putting it on the house to get it done it was like a dump in there cause stuff started falling apart all around me so we even had my church get us a hotel room for a few nights and stay with my grandma while we finished the house enough to get in here they were very critical of us all like we should be able to keep up with all the stuff for the trailer and the house even though we werent living in the trailer we only used it to go to the bathroom while we were working on the house till we got water here sorry this is so long but this aint even half of it also they kept telling me that my son was normal and that he acted normal when i had to give him to them cause i couldnt handle him and come to find out he has severe problems that require a lot of meds but still they said it was all me any advice or if you want more info contact me and i will tell you all of it including the part where i lost my temper over all this and took it out on my son who started all this when i tried to get him help for problems they said didnt exist

CPS is completely broken and needs complete reorganiztion, including repeal of the ADoption and SAfe Families Act of 1996. They is so much wrong with the agency that there is not room enough to list everything I would change but basically, the US Supreme Court has held that CPS workers are not accountable for injuries ordeaths to children due to their bad decisions, such as placing a child in an abusive foster home. Therefore states need to enact laws to make CPS accountable, however, that runs counter to the state’s own interest (Attorney General office for example). This would be near imposible to do unless there was a grass roots effort to insist legisaltures make these Accounability Laws.

The courts need to be removed from the cases until and only if there is a need for Termination of rights after all other avenues have been exhausted. That is because the legal system is an adversarial system, and in no way works with the family openly and as a TEAM to help the family to work through issues. Instead is it a closed, and oppositional system. Of course it is dysfunctional.
The “caseworker System” is obsolete, and comes from the early 1900’s when workers went to impoverished familes who were reported and offered “services” such as medical aid, food or shelter. Thsi was during the years of immigrations and many poor families coming to our shores. But that is not the case now. A MSW, age 22 caseworker, cannot deal with Meth Addictions, mental illness or domestic violence by “offering services” in a short term quick fix. Also, states are not willing to offer and pay for long term care that many of these situations call for. It is easier to move the kids out. And that they do.

The problem is that there needs to be ONE cohesive and organized group to respond to CPS abuses, and while “fightCPS” is an excellant start, it needs national organization (think Howard Dean here, it can be done).

This is a political issue and needs a political response. CPS will go after anyone who opposed them, as I know,. I have had my sister’s 4 children since 1994, when CPS placed them with me but I made a wrong decision to keep them as foster kids (In Arizona) since MY state pays for their college education and 3 of the kids were highly gifted. Our situation turned when I complained I wanted their last 2 siblings to be with me also and CPS disagreed. They then hated me for my efforts to keep all the kids together. When my 4 began to be depressed, especially when their 2 time a week contact was cut off suddenly, Arizona CPS did nothing, and made no response to my request for therapy for the kids. but my biggest sin was that I was asked by a Representative to appear about a year ago in front of the House Select Committee. The caseworkers then gave their cell numbers to my kids, flew up twice to see them , even though we have ICPC workers here to see them and then, yes, with no notice removed the younger two from my home. I got NO reason why, and when I flew to Arizona court CPS tried to keep me out of the room. I asked for an attorney. It was denied. I asked for a Motion to Intervene. It was denied. So much for due process. A few days later when my just turned 15 daughter(neice) said she wanted to come home, they then said NO contact between us as I “influenced” her. Age 15! I have an attorney, and it will cost me big time, but I have to keep on keeping on telling it “like it is”. My older son (nephew) just graduated college with a BS after skipping high school, the other son (nephew) just graduated high school. My biological daughters do well, one has a master;s and did her internship with the Attorney General of New York, and has worked for Congressmen, and Senators. So my other kids have been “proof” of the pudding, so to speak. Yet, CPS smears me like anyone else. Just recently, CPS caseworker had told my daughter that if I did a couple classes that she and her brother could come home. Let me get this straight. I have NO (written or verbal) accusation or charge to have any idea what I may have done wrong, yet I cannot speak to my daughter. I have no right to know what the court is saying but the same court is ordering me not to speak with my kids. Huh? Caseworker now finally agrees with me the kids are depressed. Go figure. So another family is destroyed.

But I’m may be different. I will tell anyone any time what has happened, I am not at all worried someone might think bad about me, because I know that this is wrong.

I am in the middle of a case with cps and they took my 2 year old daughter out of my care. What happen was they had recieved a call the day before they came to my address which we were trying to pack and move our new home in. When they came to my home they informed me that someone had called because there might be demestic violence, possible drug use, deplorable conditions, and the trailer was a mess. They came in and looked at the house that we weren’t staying in even after I told them where we were staying. They told me that I had to take a drug test, move out, and make a safty plan. They asked me if me and the father my boyfriend had any fights and I told them yes but that they were just arguement so the case worker said that she would like to put me in a shelter. The lady said that i had to submit to a drug test or they would take my baby. Right now I don’t have a job so I am cleaning people homes to make money. One home was known as a drug related home but I have make money. We went to live at the same residence that we told them we were staying. They waited 2 weeks to come and check it out. The day they come to tell me that the place paced I told them that I didn’t think that we needed there help because I now how to be a good parent and all the good stuff. The day after they called my mom and told her that I failed my drug test. The father didn’t but they needed to place my daughter in emergency custody but her father was an alleged father and that he couldn’t get her until a paternity test was taken even though he has been in her life every day of her life just like me. Now I have to prove to the judge and others that my daughter isn’t in need of services by doing resurch that the drug (meth) come contaminate your body just by a person being in contact with it. It is a cemical and all cemicals can enter your body in the mean while my daughter only gets to see me 2 hours a week. When she could see me every day. They said that her mental wellfair is at stake and it could and or is huring her. When in my opinion she is being hurt now because she don’t know what is going on and why she can’t see her mommy. She was pody trained, she could count to 5, and say her ABC’s up to G. When I see her she is so happy to see me but she won’t go to the pody anymore and she is back using diapers she won’t do anything I tought her. I want her to have a good life and I thought I was doing that by the new place and they took her from me. I may not have that much to give her but I do have my love and she can’t see it. They also said that I had a chose to take the drug test and the trueth is that they said if I didn’t by 4:30 that day she were going to say that it was dirty and take her anyways. What should I do other that prove to them that I never did the drug I was just around it. I have never been in any trouble but they don’t care. Oh and the poeple that were there also had to take a drug test and the guy failed for pot. but they still have their baby. I think that they did this because i didn’t think I needed them how to be a mom. Oh and one of them don’t even have kids.

Brittany, if you do everything in your power to show the caseworkers that your child will never again be around drugs, you have a chance of getting your child back. You’ll need to have a stable home environment to welcome your child back into.

Creating a stable and loving home for your child is the best thing you can do now, even though she isn’t with you. I hope you will get your daughter back, and never be around drugs again so long as you’re a parent with children at home.

What is happening is that cps goes on assumptions to ransack children from loving families. They dont have to even prove their case. Theres gotta be some kinda filter that cps is using to get away with the caos thats being enforced by them. As soon we find and take that filter away alot of this conspiracy will becoming to a halt. The filter is a person or persons that cleans up after the damage is done by cps. the filter is playing a big role in this matter. I dont know the filter by name yet but im looking into it but i can say this its gotta be in somewere in the cps sytem itself. thank you for this web sight

CPS or McCarthiasm? Which is which?

CPS was called on a woman a few years ago by a well known religious leader from her congregation. Because of this person’s accusations she was stripped of her rights to all her children under 18. 10 children those people took away from her. Rescently this prominent religious leader was indicted on 13 charges of sexual abuse on woman above and below the concentual age. This woman’s life was destroyed by a sex predator that CPS took the word of. How does this person get her children back. Three of them are now adopted. Of the three who were adopted disappeared with the family that adopted her. This woman had a total of 15 children. The family court kept tricking her into signing confessions or face jail. Her court appointed attorney told her to sign if she wants to get her children back. She never got them back. Adoption agencies can make 100’s of thousands of dollars when selling babies to Jewish Orthodox couples thar are childless. When will this country change the law and have due process reestablished in the family court sytem. The UNITED STATE’S CONSTITUTION says “the right to be tried by your peer’s. Which law maker changed what our forefather’s wrote in the our CONSTITUTION? CPS people are vile. Just like the police deparment has a quota of tickets they must write so does the CPA agent. They even get monetary rewards and promotions for bring parents into the social service system. I assure you , many of these agents are monsters. They gloat in the fact that they have the power of life over death on your life.

The Child Protection Services is the new form of McCarthyism.

If someone calls in with a complaint about a family they should be given a polygraph. The parents if there is any suspicion should be given a polygraph. The case worker should be given a polygraph when they make their findings. When a child complains to their social worker of abuse by their foster home or a foster parent(s) they are ignored. These complaints should not be ignored. Which happens too many times? A polygraph test should be done immediately on the accused foster care provider. Many deaths can be prevented by following this procedure. Many lives and much money would be saved by the tax payer if this were the case. A family court case should be heard by a jury. Judges all too often are friends with CPS workers and become too lax and assume all the evidence is factual and not circumstantial. In family court you are guilty if the case presented is circumstantial. The Constitution of the United States should not be considered a worthless piece of paper in Family Courts. The children of the families should be allowed to have a voice. The children are forced to keep quiet and are not allowed to speak up in defense that are in favor of their parent(s) nor are even listened to unless it is a negative response made against their parent(s) This fact is very true. All social workers should be given a psychological evaluation once a year to see if they are truly fit to continue this serious delicate job. To prove the extent of foster care abuse a survey should be done on foster care children that have left foster care when they reached their legal age of 18 and see what the percentage is of abuse from the foster care system. You need to do a survey on foster children. Ask them if their lives were ruined by the emotional upheaval by a well intentioned system? Ask them how many times if they were subjected to abuses by the foster care system? Ask them how it is affecting their lives now? In closing I may add “The Child Protection Services is the new form of McCarthyism.”

i think that cps should look more closely to the accusations before they accuse parents of abuse or neglect for instince i lost my son due to down syndrome in 1993 and i was accused of neglect and now am fighting to clear my name but i never lost my other two kids they stayed at home with me and their father.look i love my kids and always will..

My parental rights were tereminated in August 13, 1999 I have four beautiful sons in which I haven’t seen in eight years now Cps made up lies and false allegations against me and said that I was mentally incapable of parenting my children because I had break downs from an abusive child hood that spawned over into an abusive relationship I was a battered women being beat and did nothing in my defense they made matters worse for my life when they took my children from me they took my life with them I have cried day after day year after year abusing drugs to numb the pain of my heart break of injustice they could not prove child abuse or neglect but yet they found grounds of termination of my parental rights because of non- compliance with pshchtropic medication The point is CPS has to much power they need to be stripped of their pwer and the judges and the attorneys need not be in complance with CPS in order to make Just judgements the whole system is corrupt and they have inmunity against prosectution therefore no one wants to address these issuses within this system because the law protcects them and gives them the power to destroy family homes. They don’t follow policy concerning the law and they can manipulate the law to make it do what they want it to do. There need to be some new laws passed to open up the rights to the parents and take away the power of the court system.

I have fought them system for five years with no results or no justice CPS has made my life a living hell on earth I still cry after all these years about my babies what monster would want to take your baby in whom you have bonded with for nine months and love and strip this precious gift from God out of your life. they made a wrongful teremination concerning my parental rights because they wanted to say that I was mentally ill and needed to be on medication, but that was only the manipulation of the law to take want they wanted my chidren do you know that each child they take from the home gives the state 10,000 for the removal of the child from the home. So they target parents of a low estate that has no voice in the community or no power to fight back with and little means of income. Well I’m doing something about my situation after many years of being so depress to the point of sucide God came into my life and clean me up I now have a GED and attend University of Phoenix to get my bacholars in science in Human service I plan to fight this system from the inside out. And no I don’t use drugs, I don’t smoke, I go to church three times a week and get all A’s in school and no I’m not on any psyhictropic medication I was wrongly diagnois as having mental illness. I’m doing great now with the exception of missing my children still. The point is they created a problem in my life instead of fixing a problem. They have no reguard for human life the children in the matter are also greatly affected besides the parents. They take your rights but who gives them the right to do or say so.

Back in 2002 CPS helped me get custody of my Great Nephew. He was living in a drug house and he was always bruised and battered. I was so thankful for CPS then but last year 2006 CPS started a plot to ruin one of my family members. I can’t beleive what these people get away with. If they are on your side they are great but if they are against you your life is over. I have made a commitment to my family that I will fight CPS with all of my might. I will never forgive my Government for letting this madness go on.

We all know why people become foster parents. I grew up in and out of foster homes and shelters for ten years because of what a CPS worker lied about back in the year of 1986. People become foster parents for the money that they endure off of the amount of children that they have in their home because the more children that they have the more money they get per child. It’s all a great big business for the government. CPS is out of control and need discipline. Who’s there to do it? People in this broken torn down society worry about the wrong things. Why not worry about those who are hurting because of what CPS is doing? This nonsense happen every day to the innocent. We, as citizens, ought get together and request that all of CPS’ workers go to jail, maybe this kaotic craziness will end and the world will be back to normal.

CPS better be careful about how they take children from the safe haven of their parents and place the children in foster care. Great danger lies within the homes of the foster parents. I was taken from my loving parents and placed in foster care at the age of eight. Eight years old is an age in which I would surely remember if I were sexually abused, don’t you think? Does CPS not have enough work to do to have to mess up innocent familes or do they compete with other CPS worker who can and will bring up the most cases?The lawyers who are court appointed are just as bad because the pay that they get is so terrible. The court appointed lawyers can be sued for malpractice. I have a lot to say because a lot has happened to my family. The more in help we seek the more we’re denied help because people run out of the back door. People here the words “CPS” and run out of the back door.Please, help somebody!

My and my wife’s case about my son started about six years ago nad is still on going by a Dr’s false allegation because of my son’s severe medicaal problems. I thing that it is wrong that these officiaals can come taje the chikd away from the parents without doing any investigating about the case at all

my name is nina and im curently in the midle of a court case with cps. a doctor that was not even my physison at the time of my babys birth , and that i already have a rocky history with orderd a drug test behind my atending physisons back. the thing is that i had already been pumped full of medication becouse i had to be induced. later a nurse tels me that i tested posative for several drugs,and that she had no choice but to call cps.i stated to her that it had to be nothing but faulse positives but se did not care.why did i get tested after i had my baby?why not befor so thay could see what i had in my system.my attending physison did not order any such test becouse he had already been testing me befor and i was always clean.that mother fucking doctor Micheal butler will get his.cps did not want to belive me but i tested with them also and i was clean.so now im getting all my paper work in order so i can represent my self,i know i can do it becouse i live for moments like this,i like to cosider my self the next matlock.so ok i sined a 30 day safty plan ,where i could not be alone with my kids,i had to be supervised by my 65 year old mother rain or shine.so i complied out of fear that my children would be taken.guess what the hore of the cps worker never once showed up to see if i was compling,she never even called.the 30 days came and went and she still never called,WHERE WAS THE FUCKING RISK those 10 days after the 30 day plan was up!i had to call her and ask what was going on,and why she maid me sine a safty plan if she was never going to do her part.when i finely spoke to her she dident even knw what to say,she wanted to have me sine a nother 30 day plan but again i reminded her of her niglect to check up on our previus plan.WHERE WAS THE RISK THOSE 10DAYS SHE FAILD TO REISSUE ANOTHER SAFTY PLAN. I cant wait for the judge to here my side of the story.cps WHO THE HELL DO THAY THINK THAY ARE,THEY HAVE DONE MORE BAD THAN GOOD.I think they should get better training on how to distingwish the real cases from the ones that dont need there assistance.cps is under the gun right now becouse of there failer to locate a SanAntonio family that they had been looking for ,for 40 days what an embaresment to cps as a hole.later it was determend that the mother that they wewr looking for had killed her 2 young children and stufed them in trash bags and placed them under the house.40DAYS and cps could not find her,maybe they were to busy FUCKING AROUND with cases that did not need the help.SO now there trying to do ther job even if its ovius that the family dose not need there help, like MY FAMILY.iv never had a cps case in my life and i have 4 children,im the mother that crys when i see the 10 oclock news and another chield was killed,its even worse when you here that cps had been involved but closed the case becouse thay found nothing rong.HOW DO THOSE CPS BASTERDS SLEEP AT NIGHT.I even offerd to take random drug tests so that i could be with my kids alone but i was told that it was to cost efective for the state,but its oviusly not that costly to take me to court!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with everything that has been said. I am fairly conservative so I wouldn’t say that CPS is related to McCarthyism but I would say that CPS needs a serious reform… unless they like handing out millions from begin sued. Know your rights and protect the civil liberities of others…. sue their asses off if you are victim of CPS. If you have done something wrong then take accountability so that the rest of us won’t have to suffer.

As a former CPS worker, I agree with some of the comments on this site that were made.. I quit my job as a CPS because of the red tape and bureacacy, including the state requirements for snatching (if one preferrs that word) of children and keeping them in care from families who were ready and willing to have her children returned. I had spent a many night crying and pondering if I really loved my job or did I love the power it had behind it. Every CPS worker is not out to harm, but to help families in distress. I know because I was one of them.
I understand the pain and anger that CPS causes a family and sometimes the commmunity. To see a child or children torn apart from what we as society knows to be the “perfect family” is not only heart breaking, but cold. Hell,show me one family that does not have a family member with some form of mental health issues, uneducated, slow learners, ADHD or bad ass parenting skills in the world and Ill show you were you need to get some counseling…and this includes, judges, CPS workers, mentors, pastors,outside agencies and any one else who claims to be a child protectors,, What I think needs to happen is you’ll all need to stick to gether and continue this type of protest, but just dont speak about, be about… Its almost like voting, dont complain, if your not going to the booth to help change things and its not going to stop with one voice at one time.. It must be continued daily.. I pray for all the children and families who are struggling and truly being burned by the system. I have taken some steps myself in creating programs that will assist the families in need not only on here, but nationally, but I cant do it by myself. I will continue to read this site and see if I can help or come up with a plan to help. Talk the talk or walk the walk its your choice!

I find the whole CPS system to be corrupt and it is like a bid to the highest bidder to see who gets the children that were taken off the parents. My daughter had their young baby girl taken from them due to accusations of drugs and neglect. My son-in-law’s lesbian sister and her girlfriend were given my granddaughter even though I had taken the foster parenting classes and had references ranging from a CPS worker and other professionals. Yet, because my youngest daughter had been throwing fits lying to her friend’s parents thus having me turned in to CPS, I was not allowed to have my granddaughter. I passed drug tests, attended my appointments and each time (3) over a 9 month period the cases were dropped. I had been told by my daughter’s counselor to hold her accountable for her actions, and it had been stated in the CPS reference that I would have problems with my daughter, I still was denied my granddaughter. My daughter and her husband were never notified of any CPS investigation, their daughter was taken from them anyway. They were told from the start that they would not be getting their daughter back. They did everything that was ordered of them, nothing. So, how can anything thing be just in the world when our own CPS system is communistic?

I have been falsely accused by cps before, back in 1998 while I was temporarily caring for my siblings.I was18 then and also had2 of my own!You are guilty untill you prove your innocence!They came with all these accusations,I signed a voluntary service plan in which they visited my home twice,I gave them a tour of the home,which was appropriate.The service plan was finished and all done and good,I complied with anything they wanted.I had to go through each accusation abnd admit or deny each one and provide the evidence!They had like at least 50 accusations,alot of them were info like the names of the children and parents names,which were all wrong,so I had to mark them down as false and provide the real info!they said the kids weren’t going to school and I provided school records to prove they were attending school and doctors notes and records from any days that they were absent!It was all stupid lies and I had proof,the case was dropped or closed!|I fought them and won,they never took my siblings from me!Years later however,they were able to take them away from my mom!I believe they had been set on taking her kids for a long time!|One of the things used against my mom to terminate her parental rights on 2 of her children {out of the 4 she had in home}was a lie about me!T|hey said she couldn’t arrange proper care for her children,cuz I had them and did a service plan and never complied with it!|I did comply,cps and I have the paperwork proof!If I hadn’t complied,then why weren’t they able to take them from me?Holy crap!tThe lies and bull goes on and on!My 2 brothers are adopted out still–it’s been about 6 years,we are allowed to see the older one {who is 14} twice a year,but the adopted foster mom has not allowed us to see the younger one {who is 6 now} since the parental rights were terminated!{he was 1 1/2 when he was taken!}The adopted foster family did not want the older one,just the younger,but the judge said ,”they come as a “package deal”!They |HAD to take the older one too–and he gets treated very badly{mental abuse is what I call it}He cuts on himself now.|The adopted foster mom takes his photo album away as punishment!The bull goes on and on!So much hurt,pain anger they caused!My step dad also killed himself as a result of this–after they terminated his parental rights!!I have 6 children of my own.I live in fear of cps everyday of my life!!I try to always be prepared in case I ever find cps eyeing my kids!|I have a video cam ready with me everywhere I go,I have my web cam always ready to go at home so They can be recoreded and viewed if they ever want to talk to me or enter my home!!FIGHT BACK!!!!

IF THEY HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO THE POLICE ALOT IN THE PAST THEN MAYBE THEY DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR KIDS TAKEN AWAY. I think it is horrible that if someone doesn’t like you they can call CPS and file a complaint against you and it is kept from you as to who made the complaint. There are so many things messed up with our system. When they require you to perform services that work against you. They require in my state that you see a shrink and they want you to talk about any problems or anything going on in your life…but what is messed up with this is that all of that is reported back to CPS. The biggest problem I see is when a single mother has her children taken and does not have the funds to have proper representation she is given a court appointed attorney who will tell you that they do not work as hard on cases that they are not being paid good money for. I had a court appointed attorney that did nothing for me. She did not even call one witness to my termination trial. She did not get any funding from the state that I was intitled to. She dropped the ball big time and I am now in appeals court still fighting…We who have been wronged have got to do something to make changes for the sake of our children. These people are playing God and they have got to be stopped. I am willing to join forces with anyone willing to take thiis all the way to the president if I have to. My little girl is the joy of my life and I can’t hardly breathe without her. I hope people will help take a stand for this injustice.

They need to separate the system. Child abuse cases should be investigated and handled by the police. Neglect cases should be handled by a NEW cps and they should only be allowed to offer services to families, NOT remove kids.

my husband’s ex-girlfriend filed a complaint that says my son sexually abused their daughter becasue she knew she was going to lose the custody ccase we have going. she knew the only way she even had a chance was to prove one of us was a bad parent or that we have an un-safe house, so she’s picking on my innocent son. So now he will be traumatized by the false allegatins as well as the stress we’re all going thru already!

I am involved in a Dependency and Neglect case as a victim of domestic violence. I have Never been charged or accused of a crime of violence nor have I been accused or charged with child abuse. Now my 16 year old daughter is missing because CPS illegally removed my children, not once but twice. I am in desperate need of assistance of any kind to get my children home with me and my daughter found and returned home safely. I am on my 5th court appointed attorney, all the others removed themselves for conflict of interest, and this one is incompetent at best. These types of actions are prevalent in the State of Colorado. The sad thing is that I truly have so much evidence against the Judge, CPS and the GAL, that by law they could be thrown in jail and disbarred, but I haven’t representation either competent enough or will to fight to represent me and my children. It is pretty bad when the GAL tries to get a mother in trouble for putting up missing persons posters for her daughter.

It is my hope that someone will be willing to provide me with some type of assistance either by referral or other means. Can someone please lead me in the right direction? I have written our State Senator and two members of our House of Representatives. I have also composed a letter to the Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice, our governor and various press agencies.

I am new to all this cps mess, last month my girlfriends cousin broke into our house and stole a plazma tv, X box, and some other items from which she got caught trying to pawn off at a pawn shop. so to get back at us for her getting in trouble she called cps and told them a handfull of lies, since then i have had to take a drug test, have my house inspected all because some thief got mad that they got caught……

God bless the USA

ps. I hope they are not really that corrupt because i really feel sorry for the poor mother fucker that tries to take my daughter away from me……..

I have been on this site several times. I realy want to do something proactive to change the way DHS, CPS, ect. do things. My family is in the fight of their lives to save their son who has been wrongly accused. Convicted with NO EVIDENCE!! If that weren’t enough, they now want to take away their daughter. These young, loving parents are being persecuted by DHS for loving their children and supporting their son. This young man has never been in trouble with the law, at school,ect. He is a kind and caring person. His only mistake was getting caught in the middle of a bitter fight between his sister and her then BFF. The court transcripts have the accuser and her mother lying under oath several times, yet the Judge believed them. The lawyer stated that is how the juvenile system works. If there is a “victim” then there has to be an “abuser”!! This young family is now in debt for all the lawyer bills, jobs in jeopordy because of all the time missed for court dates, lawyer appointments, ect. The juvenile system is sooo wrong and something that you would see in a country without due process of law. These kids are considered guilty from the git go. This young man has been told over and over again to “just admit it” His parents are appealing his case but the damage that this system has done to him is unforgivable!!! What once was a vibrant, healthy, happy young man is now just an empty, beaten down shell. It just makes me furious that the court system that he has been brought up to respect has done this to him. Things need to change. PLEASE, PLEASE some one tell me how to go about doing this. I am a take charge person and I can’t stand how this family and others I am sure, have been victimized by this system. IT HAS TO STOP!!!!!!!!

Mary, when you say DHS, I think Michigan, or Maine or Philadelphia.

There are groups within these states.

I hate to say it, but it appears that the most unlikely folks are now targeted by CPS, simply because they are naive, and may have had NO experience with the criminal justice system.

BTW, just calling up a lawyer and schmoozing with the PARALEGAL can give you some comfort and direction.

Look for an atty who is familiar with FAMILY LAW. They all do it ( first) AND MOST leave, because Family Law is so emotional and draining.

See if you can network, within your state with groups like Tough Love or BILY ( Because I love you)

I would really love to tell you me story. I have two children who have been ripped from my home by NJ DYFS. My story begins in Newton NJ. On Jan 7Th 2006 my home was broke into, and I was assaulted. I at the time couldn’t remember what had happen. I woke up in the middle of my living room floor there was blood all over my face. The coffee table was laying on top of me. I believed my assaulter to be the ex mayors son. My ex and the Father of my children who also still lived in my home was dating this man ex girl friend. The man had passed threats of harm to his ex and mine. Before my assault my car tires were sliced 3 different times. This man not only being the ex mayors son but also a drug addict a police informant and has a long criminal record. During the investigation the police found out that I was suffering from Post podium and that I was on a low dose of Lexipo to control it. They used this against me to cover for my assaulter saying my wounds were self in flicked. They also made a call to DYFS stating this. DYFS said that I had neglected my kids due to this. A caseworker would show up at are home once a week and they lied to me and my ex and told us that we would be going to this place to get coupled counseling to try to work out are problems and when we got there it was a eval. Don got up and left but I stayed and did it thinking it would look bad if I didn’t. After this they came up with a whole list of things that they claimed we need to do. I refused to do these things standing my ground that I was assaulted. A few months later I got a call from my sons day care telling me that they had got a call from some parents stating there children said that another 6 year old had touch my son on him prevent parts in the day care. They also said that they called DYFS about this matter. When the caseworker that looked into this showed up at are home she said that the girl that was said to have touched my son had not attended this day care for more then six months and they did not find the story to be true. But now they are using this agenst us saying we aloud this to happen to our son. But how could we let something happen that they say never happened to begin with? She also said that this was on the day care and had nothing to do with us. This was also a daycare run by the state of NJ. Norwestcap a branch of DYFS. After months of harassment from DYFS and the Newton police we moved from the county to warren county. During the move my son went on vacation to Disney world with his grandmother great grandmother aunt and cousin. This turned out to be a big problem for DYFS and the began calling and stopping by every other day. Drilling us about where Damon was and trying to get addresses in FL. We moved to Believed NJ but we told DYFS me and the kids moved to PA hoping they would leave us alone. But they continued to show up at our home in Believed all the time and they even showed up at my job. all the while trying to get us to do there services. After three months of this Don did something stupid and got arrested some how DYFS got wind of this however they said it was a drug charge but it wasn’t. On this note Sussex county DYFS took us to court in Warren county. This was done to force us to take there help. We were now court ordered to do the services. We do not drive nor have a car to get to all of the places they wanted us to go and they wouldn’t give us transport to get there so we didn’t go. In Jan of 2007 I applied to Bel-Rea school in Denver CO and got in. We when to CO in march to find a place to live there and rented a home. In the mean time after all this time Sussex county DYFS sent the case to Warren county. When the caseworker was assigned from warren she showed up at our home 2 days before we moved to CO. I told her I really didn’t trust DYFS and had nothing to say but she keep pushing for info. Seeing I was getting very upset Don asked her to leave 6or7 times before she did. She then went back to the office and wrote a false report saying that my dog attacked her and that Don slapped me in front of her. We have an eye witness that this is a lie and also taped the hole thing. 2 days later we moved to CO. With advice from my lawyer not telling anyone where we were. We were also not under any court order say in that we could not leave the state of NJ. Three weeks later we started getting calls on Dons cell from DYFS we never picked up the phone. Then Don’s mother started calling DYFS sent the police there looking for us and keep pushing her for info this went on for days. We never told her where we were going either on the 10Th of May 2007 a detective told DYFS where we were and gave then are address. The next day they when to court and told a judge that they didn’t know where we were but they believed us to still be in NJ. Also admitting the false report wrote by the case worker that came to our house. On that DYFS was giving a court order for custody of our kids. We were then threatened with criminal charges and a amber alert if we did not turn them over. DYFS picked then up in CO. Don and myself got on the next plain back to NJ. Only about 3 days later we were giving a visit with are kids my daughter who was only a year old showed up with a black eye a bruised nose and they couldn’t tell us for a week what happen and when they did the said my son did it to her. My son loves his sister very much and would never hurt her. The next visit my son showed up with marks on his neck that looked like he was choked. My daughter had a large bruise on her but that a DYFS tried to say was from her falling on a toy. She also had a bleeding rash for almost a month. Finally I got a call from our caseworker stating my daughter had fallen off a top bunk bed she was okay but had some burses. This was also blamed on my son. Then they moved them to a new foster home. In this foster home my son told us he was heating up water in a microwave to take a bath. When we questioned this they said my son was lien to get are attention. I saw something that was disturbing to me when I changed my daughters dyper and I call the abuse hot line about this. Also leaving a message for are caseworker who in turn called the foster mother and warned her investigators would be coming to her home. I was told that the investigators from DYFS didn’t think that she was being abused. When I asked if the inveagaters had an MD they said no. I told her I wanted my daughter checked by a doctor and I was told that the test would be to traumatizing to her. On that I called the child advocates and Wrote a email to the commissioner. One week later a doctors appointment was made for her. They have never given my attorney a report from that doctor that says what they stated as no abuse. For the last almost year Don and myself have been saying in NJ with friends and family and paying rent for our home in CO they have withheld evidence reports from service providers at 2 court dates. I got a letter from the area director after I told her I had a copy of the fax transaction stating they had the reports before our court date on the 27Th of Nov. They were sent the 17Th of NOV. They still said they did not get the reports on the 2ed of Jan at our next court date. The area director said they got the reports on Dec 27Th and it was a “oversight” that the court didn’t get them. Even after I told me caseworker that I got the letter from the area director she still says that she didn’t get then till after court on the 2ed of Jan. I have wrote letters to Kevin Ryan the child advocate and the child placement board. We went to a meeting on the 10Th of march were I have them on tape saying that we have never neglected or abused are kids we have done a great job advocating for them but they are seeking adaption because we blame them for not doing there jobs. We go to court on the 2ed of May and I really need to get the public involved in this they need to know my story

hello everyone my name is brandon i am a young father of two kids last year in 2007 i had the cops along with a CPS worker come to my Michigan home as i was walking out the door to go to work.they told me that they were there because a call they got saying me and my girlfriend was doing cocaine and heroin well hey no big deal so we went and took drug test every thing came back ok for the both of us on them i was clean of all things and she was two they then did not come around for almost a year then started coming back around saying we want to close the case but we need you to take another drug test well hey we took one test already they were clean so now we are fightting it the case should have been closed when we took the first test and there for we are not taking another test we have never been in trouble with the law nothing but yet they are still on our ass for nothing at all

Okay I put in the request for my case file. I was told that DYFS has its own statue and donsnt fall under the freedom of information act. I am going to look into it further but I was told this in court and the judge backed them up all on record so it may be true.

Usually when CPS arrives at the door it is completely unexpected and unwelcome; however if they do manage to engage you in an interview, it’s most beneficial to be honest upfront in your conversation. Also have a digitial voice recorder on hand - they are pretty cheap at like Wal-Mart, Target, or Besbuy and inform the worker you will be recording the conversation. Then have the recording transcribed (written out exactly word for word) and if the CPS worker changes any portion of what you’ve said, your attorney can provide the written transcriptions to the Court and since the CPS worker was completely aware the interview was being recorded, he or she won’t have a foot to stand on and likely the case could be dismissed. Just make sure you tell the CPS worker before you begin the interview with them that you will be recording the information, as I believe as long as one party consents to the recording (you) it is ok to record, though I’m not an attorney so don’t quote me on that one…

I am a mother of 3 soon to be 4 and since my divorce from my first husband i have been given 4 Unfounded CPS reports. This causes more stress on my family then is needed. and then my kids become little buts I could see if there was really a need for some one to call them on me But my kids councilor and Pediatrician all tell me I’m doing every thing right so when CPS shows up and my door every year
